About this property

All you need to bring are your clothes & sunscreen, we provide the rest!

Come escape to our sanctuary on Amelia Island. It's all about comfort, affordability and all the little details needed to realize that. Yes, that includes everything you would expect at a friend’s house from washer & dryer to spices. Show up with some comfort food, drinks and your clothes & sunscreen. All the rest is taken care of. Stroll to the beach, plan your adventures and relax.

There are a few things that we respectfully request of you, that will help to keep our villa in clean, healthy & comfortable condition:
Before you leave please make sure the dishes are either clean or being cleaned (in the dishwasher).
Please remove the sheets from the beds that you used before leaving & start them in the washing machine. Please try to keep up with washing the beach & bath towels so that we are able to accommodate the guests checking in after you leave.
We require you to take out your garbage upon checking-out. The dumpster and recycle station is at the far, back end of Amelia Landings.
Please return the thermostat to the temperature of 78 degrees.

Quick Summary: 2 bedrooms, 2 queen beds, 2 baths, 2nd-floor walkup, non-smoking, no pets, next to pool, community grill & tennis/pickleball courts, private path to a public beach access (owned & maintained by the City of Fernandina Beach).

You can expect plenty of extras that no place else will provide from olive oil & spices to beach chairs & coolers. Grab some fresh local shrimp, cocktail sauce, a few cold drinks and just waltz into our sanctuary. It will be spotless, the beds comfortable, the linens luxurious, numerous DVDs & books, fast, free & secure internet along with tons more. Plan on sitting under a fan on the screened in porch, enjoying a relaxing sense of perfection. Our slice of paradise on Amelia Island was lovingly remodeled from sub-floor to ceiling in early 2013. Everything is in pristine condition.

This condo is OWNER-MANAGED AND MAINTAINED. You will not hassle with a third-party rental management company; we are owners who care for our guests and the property. We live right here on the island and will personally make sure everything is ready for your arrival. If there is anything amiss we will take care of it quickly. There will be enough dishwasher and laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, basic kitchen supplies, and coffee & tea to get you started for your 1st day or 2. Before strolling to the beach you can load up the beach dolly with towels, umbrella, chairs, cooler and picnic supplies. It would be a bit much to list everything so please ask if you have any questions.

The rich history and natural beauty of Amelia Island begs of you to indulge in the creation of memories that will last a lifetime. This is why we manifested this get-away. The miles of pristine beaches, spectacular parks, clear, calm Atlantic waters and quaint charm has lured generations of travelers to Amelia Island. Our family is no exception.

Amelia Landings is a short 7-minute stroll down a private path (owned & maintained by the City of Fernandina Beach) to 1st Ave and a public access to the wonderful sandy island beaches. Although we set the villa up as a retreat for our family and friends to escape to, many families with youngsters, groups of golfers and friends getting away for a long weekend have found it to be perfect as well.

Our villa is a bit over 800 square feet with an open floor plan connecting the kitchen, dining and living areas. (Check out the floor plan in the pictures.) It is on the second floor of a three-story (approx 18 stairs) building closest to the pool, tennis courts and picnic/grill area. Unfortunately, there is not an elevator in the building, (it is NOT handicapped accessible). Amelia Landings is a pet-free community so no pets are allowed on the property. premises. We have a strict No Smoking policy (severe allergies…). There is ample parking.

We replaced even the stuff you don't see like the HVAC system and hot water heater. You won’t run out of hot water, be hot in the summer or cold in the winter. As for the stuff you do see only the drywall, molding and doors were not replaced. Yup, that means soft floating wood floors, ample area rugs, tiled master bath and walk-in shower with bench seat, the vanities, toilets & fixtures, the lighting throughout with ceiling fans in the living room, bedrooms and screened in balcony. The kitchen has spectacular all solid wood shaker style cabinets and all new high-end appliances even a super quiet Bosch stainless steel dishwasher. The kitchen is fully stocked including everything you would expect like a coffee maker (with coffee and filters), blender, basic cooking spices & supplies.

There are Blu-ray disc players (living room & master bedroom). The high-speed internet is upgraded to provide Xfinity performance class connectivity both wired and via secure wireless. We have a great collection of books, DVD’s, and CD's. The full digital cable package includes the sports and entertainment package along with every channel except the premium ones like HBO, Cinemax, Stars...

Amelia Island is consistently rated in the top 10 island vacation destinations and was the US Travelers Choice 2013 Winner (#9), “Amelia Island loves a (family-friendly) party! The small Sea Island is particularly well known for two annual festivals: the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival. But there’s plenty to do year-round. Hit the beach for some water sports, explore the island on horseback, take in a show at a community theater or just wander around the charming historic district. The Amelia Island Museum of History offers educational walking tours, including a spooky Ghost Tour that will give you delicious chills.” The Family Vacation Critic (#8), “Nestled off the coast of northeastern Florida, just over the border from Georgia, [Amelia Island] is the last of the southern barrier islands that are made up of pristine, dune-filled beaches. Four major state parks and a national park are within reach of this quiet, preserved stretch of land where hiking, biking, horseback riding and camping helps your family escape our technology-filled world. There's history here, as well, with Fort Clinch reminding of Florida's place in the Civil and Spanish-American Wars. Moss-draped, centuries-old oaks pave the way into Fernandina Beach, a historic town filled with boutiques and homes. Amelia Island has a mild climate throughout most of the year, growing hot and humid in the summer months, which makes ideal weather for canoeing, kayaking, and sailing.”

About the host

We had vacationed on Amelia Island for many years when we finally decided to buy our vacation home. We never looked back & in 2015 we decided to make the move to live here permanently. It was the best decision we have ever made. This is truly paradise and everyone who lives here is happy. We walk on the beach every day, it's an excellent way to relax & re-group.

Why they chose this property

This condo was remodeled from sub-floor to ceiling during first few months of 2013. There is nothing that wasn't replaced right down to the outlets and light switches. There is a new oversize Carrier HVAC system to keep you comfortable and an oversized hot water heater to keep the shower flowing at the right temperature. We use high-quality linens. The kitchen is stunning right down to the Pfaltzgraff dining set. We now have an inviting place to relax and play that is away from the everyday distractions. This is not your typical full-time vacation rental it is a home.

What makes this property unique

The back deck is screened in with 2 ceiling fans overlooking a stand of old southern live oaks and a comfortable view of the pool. The angle of the building shields it from pool 'noise' affording it the best of both worlds, a view of southern live oaks, the pool and noise free solitude. With 6' sliding glass doors to the living room and master bedroom this space instills a tranquility that is hard to beat. When reasonable we sleep with the doors open and listen to birds and breeze. This is a quiet complex with very few rentals so you will rest peacefully even with the bedroom door open. The new floating floors are great in bare feet and clean up nicely. Of course, the kitchen is spectacular.

The 7-minute walk down a shell and boardwalk path (owned & maintained by the City of Fernandina Beach) will take you to the stunning Amelia Island beaches. The sandy beach extends for miles in both directions. I just love early morning strolls on the beach or a nice afternoon drink under an umbrella with my feet in the sand and a good book. The surf and sand are better babysitters than the TV any day. We have all the basic beach amenities including an umbrella, beach chairs, and towels.

There are so many local attractions, fantastic food, boating, fishing and spectacular golf I can't imagine being bored. A stop at Atlantic Seafood in historic Fernandina Beach after a stroll through the unique shops and you will be able to cook the best local seafood imaginable. I'm a bit partial to the fresh Mayport shrimp, blackened or pan seared served with a salad or just steamed with a fresh cocktail sauce eaten on the deck with a cocktail.
