We have a nicely appointed 2 bedroom apartment located above a detached garage. You'll have a carport to park under (sorry the garage is unavailable), a furnished deck, one queen and one double bed, a complete kitchen, washer/dryer, and satellite tv. The view from the living room window is of an oak forest that feels like a park. Located close to freeway, grocery store, and restaurants. There are amazing wineries for tasting and many rafting companies for adventures on the American river. We're happy to allow a dog, but our property is not fenced so keep in mind you'll need to plan to keep your dog with you.

Wonderful, great hosts, nice detached apartment
I am here for work for a 3 - 6 month gig. I'm working in Roseville and I wanted a place where my husband could come stay with me and bring my dogs. This place is perfect. It's a detached apartment above the garage. It's very clean and has all the amenities you need to be comfortable and cook. The 5 acre lot is good for the dogs to run around. My husband is retired and is able to go on great hikes and loves the area
My dogs love it, they get to play with Robin's dogs everyday. I'm so thankful to Robin and her husband, they are great. I really appreciate being able to rent month to month with home away, beats staying in a hotel.
Lovely place inside and out. Special touches and friendly hosts. This place is a must go!!
Wonderful, peaceful, perfect place!
We stayed in this wonderful VRBO for the first week in Oct.. Our stay couldn't have been better.....two couples with our Golden Retrievers couldn't have found a more comfortable, clean place. The apartment is over the detached garage and sits on a large, wooded, beautiful property. Robin was the perfect host. She was very friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive. I would recommend this vacation rental highly!!
Beautiful home in the hills of Gold Country
Our family had a wonderful long weekend in Gold Country. The various family friendly activities make it a great weekend:
+ rafting down the American River
+ kayaking/stand-up paddleboarding at Negro Bar
+ dropping by Hooverville Orchards for some great peaches/pears and apple pie
+ having a nice lunch (with desserts) at a local French restaurant "Allez"
+ walking down historic Placerville
But underlying our activities was this beautiful property and Robin's amazing hospitality. Nestled in the hills, the house was quiet, clean and just tastefully decorated - everything is either new or in great shape. Robin has obviously taken great care in maintaining the property. The cinnamon buns that she had out waiting for us upon our arrival were delicious. She had also prepared other treats like drinks and snacks, which were greatly appreciated. And our kids loved feeding the goats in the backyard.
To address the heat, it was really hot outside but Robin had not only prepared an extra air conditioner but had extra fans throughout the house to help circulate cool air. We were comfortable the whole weekend despite the 97 degree afternoons!
In short, we had an amazing time. We'll definitely be back for some more rafting and when we do we'd love to stay at Robin's house again.
Beautiful rental in the hills!
Such a gorgeous rental! Driving to get here is one of the best parts. It is set off in the hills of Placerville. Once you get to the driveway and see the place, you know it will be a great stay. Such a great property with sweet animals such as dogs, cats, and even baby lambs. The hosts are such lovely people! They greet you when you get there. They provide snacks and amenities throughout the entire rental. It makes it feel as if you never left home. The 2 rooms have 1 queen and 1 full bed. We had 4 adults and our baby in his pack n play. It was so roomy and comfortable for all of us. The kitchen is fully stocked and even has spices for cooking. The entire place is decorated so beautifully! It is just a 5 min drive from downtown Placerville. My family and I will definitely be staying here again. I highly recommend a stay here!
Peaceful and welcoming
Robin is incredibly hospitable and a gracious host. We arrived and were met by her sweet lamb who ran up to the car! Her property is beautiful, nestled back in the gently rolling hills, conveniently located near many fantastic wineries and a 15 minute drive to downtown Placerville. Robin thinks of the small things to ensure her guests enjoy their visit: cinnamon buns for the morning, coffee with fresh cream in the fridge, bottled water, and all the amenities you could need. The apartment was impeccably clean and well taken care of. We enjoyed our morning breakfast sitting on the patio listening to the birds and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Highly recommend!
Our two-bedroom 900 sq ft comfortably furnished guest apartment sits above a detached garage on five secluded oak filled acres ten minutes from historic downtown placerville. The apartment has one queen size and one full size bed, a well stocked kitchen, dining area, bathroom with tub shower and stackable washer/dryer, living area with satellite television, some classic board games, and a reading nook with a unique selection of books. At an elevation of 1300 feet, we are above the fog and below the snow.
If you’re looking to get away from it all, this may be what you are looking for. Our property is peaceful and beautiful yet conveniently located close to grocery shopping and restaurants. We are close to many of El Dorado county’s attractions including apple hill, which has over 50 ranches including fruit growers, bake shops, award winning wineries and the Jack Russell brewery. At night you could take your chance at the Red Hawk casino or if that is not your style the community observatory is open Friday through Sunday evenings where you can see a little bit of heaven in the foothills through their large telescopes. Or perhaps just enjoy the night sky while lounging on the apartment deck with a glass of wine.
A fifteen-minute drive will find you in Coloma along the south fork of the American river where rafting companies will guide you along its meandering course toward Folsom lake. Coloma is where James Marshall first discovered gold in California in 1848 and today it is a tourist attraction known for its ghost town, which is the centerpiece of the Marshall Gold Discovery state historic park. Another piece of gold rush history can be found at Gold Bug park and mine just one mile north of Main street in Placerville.
