This apartment was perfect for what we needed. We had our Virginia Legacy Run there in Colonial Beach and the location was Perfect. I meet one of our host, and he was very nice and polite....the environment was great....I would totally rent the Magnolia Hideaway again if I'm ever back in this area. Great people in this quaint little town....loved the car show that was just across the street from our apartment....great job....and your store had a lot of great bargins.....

Thank you! Its always great to have people in town enjoying the events occurring most weekends, such as your Legacy Run! Hope to see you again in CBVA someday!
An adorable rental sitting above an even cuter shop! Bedrooms were comfy and cute. Kitchen was well stocked and more than adequate for short term stays. Bathroom was small and all the way at the other end from bedrooms but worked fine. Loved sitting on the deck with a view of the water and people watching. Close to many restaurants. We went mid week and it was very sleepy, lots of restaurants and shops are closed Tuesday with some smaller shops only being open Th-Sun but it was fine w us. Great getaway!
Magnolia Hideaway was charming and perfect for a weekend getaway. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and entertaining, but we ate out a lot! Great location — many restaurants, music spots, and breweries within walking distance. Dan and Scott were very communicative and gave great guidance on where to go and what to see. We loved having a glass of wine on the balcony and looking at the water and shopping at their store downstairs!
Our hosts were spectacular. We got to meet them and they were accommodating and provided us with general information about the area and things to do during our stay. We really appreciated their hospitality!
While we would love to keep Magnolia Hideaway our little secret, I have to confess itis a five star package all rolled into one! From the location, to the comfort, to the excellent wrap around porch, to the completeset up of everything inside. To the Boutique below and the wonderful and friendlyhost/owner (Scott). Everything was clean and comfortable, well stocked and the decorations, artwork and all that went into creating this wonderful spot in Colonial Beach the best stay we have had at Colonial Beach in 21 years. Loved sitting on the porch in the evening watching it all go by in a nice rocking chair with our drinks in hand, enjoying finally getting a few days off work. Truly a treat to get to stay there!.The owners have something here to be truly proud of. As well as the wonderful staff. below in the shop. Thank you all for such a wonderful stay. Will be definitely reserving in the future when we get our next break. Loved it !

Awe, thank you! We're glad you enjoyed the stay and we agree--the upstairs deck is great to watch the world go by! (Even better when we have festivals and parades!) Hope to see you again in CBVA!
Enjoyed our time. Colonial Beach is fun for all ages. Property does require the ability of climbing steps, original hardwood floors are very slick with bathroom floor being the slickest even without showering and in areas uneven, very uneven, bathroom has a vintage claw foot tub that requires the ability to step in and out of. There is no gate or door at top of entry steps, no baby gate within property. Just a couple of things to think about if you have any type of fall risks, mobility issues or younger children. Beds were comfortable, Kitchen well stocked with utensils and cookware, decorated beautifully. During operational hours you can definitely hear all conversations and business ongoing downstairs though that wasn't a huge concern for us as we weren't staying in a majority of the daytime hours. Walking distance to everything you could want to do. Porch is perfect for sitting in the evenings. You can clearly hear live music from High Tides and enjoy the night air.

Thank you for your review! Yes, this is a 100 year old home...and instead of tearing it down, we thoughtfully restored it the best we could while leaving the character and charm that made these houses so special! With two bedrooms (queen beds) we agree this apartment is best suited for adults or families with teens or young adults. We hope to see you again in CBVA!
