Private Heated Pool - Sound to Shore - 1930s Tudor

Welcome to Sound to Shore. A historic 1930s Tudor gem surrounded by coastal oak trees is rich in history. Fully updated three-bedroom/two-bath home with a private pool, ready-to-go office space, fire pit, and playscape offers the perfect stay for families, fishing groups, couples' getaways, and remote workers. Centrally located - 2 minutes to HEB, 5 minutes to Con Brown Harbor, 10 minutes to the Ferry, 14 minutes to Rockport.

The front yard boasts beautiful, giant coastal oaks twisted by the wind. When we bought the house, it was said that carnival workers and gypsies had settled in Aransas Pass. There are a few houses with two front doors, ours being one, which supposedly meant it was the home of a tarot card reader. Even if this passed-down story isn't 100% accurate, we have grown to love the uniqueness and beauty of this very special, almost 100-year-old home.

The backyard is surrounded by an 8-foot privacy fence, offering a truly private, resort-like experience with tasteful outdoor lighting. The backyard has been fully renovated with a beautiful travertine tile patio and a custom pool. On one side of the pool, there is a covered patio, two two-person hammocks, and gorgeous custom cabana curtains that blow in the warm coastal winds. The grill is also located in this area. On the other side of the pool is a minimal mulched area with a fire pit, Adirondack chairs, and a fantastic Bijou-Build Mainstay playscape for children and adults alike.

Inside the home, you will find hardwood floors throughout, a deep porcelain tub, and century-old architectural details, alongside new features like granite countertops, a great AC system, custom cabinets, wardrobes throughout, and all the amenities you need, including quality bedding and DreamCloud mattresses. Remote workers - no problem! As a remote worker myself, I have added two extra curved monitors, a mouse, keyboard, and a dongle station. Bring your laptop for work or gaming while you are not in the pool or at the beach! Enjoy the richness of the various textures and subtle details around every corner to make your stay more memorable. This is the perfect place to stay. Everything has been thought of by the hosts. Very clean and comfortable. Felt like home. We really enjoyed the heated pool and the privacy. Open kitchen to dining and living room for spending time together. Close to beaches, restaurants, and stores. The host was very attentive and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend staying here!!!

We recently stayed at this beautiful house over Thanksgiving weekend. The house was beautiful and Rachel‘s attention to detail is amazing. We didn’t feel like we were in a house, we felt like we were home. The pool was wonderful. It was heated and my daughter enjoyed every moment of it. We would definitely like to return for a getaway.

My husband and I have had the privilege of traveling and staying at many short-term rentals all over the world. Through our experiences, we have learned a few valuable lessons. First, invest in good beds, linens, and pillows. Getting good sleep matters. It’s the foundation of enjoying your getaway. Second, we always want to ensure that when you walk in through the door, there is excitement in checking out all the little spaces, the small and big details have all been thought about. Third, good knives! We cook, and we know that chopping an onion with a dull knife is not only the worst but also somewhat dangerous. 😅 Our guests' experience matters, and we love feedback so we can continue to meet this expectation!

Our personal story is that my husband is a US Navy Veteran and now a government contractor, and I am an Engineering Technical Project Manager. Together, we have five exceptional children: four boys and one girl. Asher is our chef and just purchased his own food truck - shout out to Pasta Boy Pasta! Jaidyn proudly followed in his father's footsteps and is currently in the United States Navy. Alex is a Senior this year and wants to study neuroscience in college next year. Sam is our football athlete who will be a freshman this year and will play on all teams: freshman, JV, and, when needed, varsity. Eleanor is what we describe as Magic. She is turning three, and truly the boss around here. Our family is our focus. Creating memories and having quality time is incredibly important. Knowing that we can make a space for other families to do just that truly fills our hearts with joy.

The house is incredibly unique, but the street is filled with other beautiful, well-kept homes. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, and truly the best-looking street in Aransas Pass! We love the peacefulness and privacy.

First, the house is framed by the most amazing coastal oaks. Second, the house itself. It's the only one of its kind in the area that we have found. Truly such a unique home. The fully fenced property, featuring 8-foot-tall fencing, offers you the best escape and privacy in the back. It is tough to think about driving to the beach when you can lounge by the pool. The pool is the differentiator. There are no other homes in this location that feature what we have, and we kind of love that.
