About the host
Hosted by Stacy Duin
I grew up in the coastal town of Arroyo Grande, California, while my husband was raised in San Jose. Our paths crossed in Lake Tahoe, where we both worked in the casino industry — an experience that sparked our shared passion for hospitality and creating memorable stays.
Hosting allows us to share the places we love with others, offering not just a home, but an experience — a chance to connect with nature, unwind, and feel inspired.
We began our journey in Zephyr Cove, Nevada, with Mountain Azure Tahoe, our first vacation rental just steps from the shoreline. Now, we’re thrilled to expand our vision with Mountain Azure Shelter Cove, a secluded ocean-view retreat on California’s Lost Coast.
Here, we hope to continue growing — eventually offering private events and corporate retreat experiences where guests can reconnect with each other and the beauty of the natural world.
Why they chose this property
Shelter Cove captured our hearts instantly — a rare stretch of California coastline where the mountains meet the sea, and where time seems to slow down.
We chose Shelter Cove because it embodies everything we value: serenity, natural beauty, and a sense of escape from the ordinary. It’s a place where guests can watch whales from the deck, walk along quiet beaches, or simply breathe in the ocean air surrounded by forest and sky.
Now, with Mountain Azure Shelter Cove, we’re honored to share this extraordinary corner of the world — and to create a retreat where others can restore, reconnect, and experience the magic of California’s Lost Coast.

What makes this property unique
What Makes Mountain Azure Shelter Cove Truly Unique
Mountain Azure Shelter Cove stands apart as one of the few luxury homes on the Lost Coast that combines architectural elegance with total seclusion. While most homes in the area are cozy cabins or rustic cottages, this custom-built retreat was designed to elevate the coastal experience — with soaring 20-foot ceilings, walls of glass that frame the Pacific, and 1,300 square feet of ocean-view decking that feels suspended in the sky.
The home is perched on a private 1.3-acre forested bluff — high enough to feel completely removed from the world, yet close enough to hear the rhythm of the waves and the whisper of the redwoods. Inside, natural materials, a see-through fireplace, and radiant heated floors create a rare balance of luxury and warmth.
Unlike any other property in Shelter Cove, Mountain Azure offers both grandeur and intimacy — a place to host family and friends, yet quiet enough for deep rest and reflection. Every sunrise, every fog-draped morning, and every glowing sunset feels like your own private show over the Pacific.
This home isn’t just a stay — it’s a destination for those seeking the beauty of California’s wild coast without sacrificing comfort, design, or serenity.
