We have lived in Bellevue for 20 years. It is a wonderful place that has gone through tremendous growth. It has finally become a true Northwest modern city with lively downtown.
Eyal purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Eyal chose West Bellevue
We live in a beautiful forested area that feels like a true Northwest with large trees and partial view of lake Washington. The cottage is located on our property. It's located in the center of it all, yet it is tucked away to ensure complete privacy with everything right around it.
What makes this Cottage unique
You are in downtown Bellevue, yet it feels like you are vacationing in some remote Northwest island cabin. You get to relax and walk around the nearby parks yet, if you want to walk 20 minutes you are in the heart of downtown Bellevue. By car, everything is right next to you. Downtown Bellevue is 5 minutes, downtown Seattle is 15 minutes.

cozy, quiet, and good location
We came for the Wintergrass music festival and found this a wonderful quiet place, away from the light and noise of downtown Bellevue, but very easy access to it. Lovely trails and roads to explore by walking and running. Eyal was very helpful and hospitable.
Great place to stay
This place was great to stay in. Was very quiet and the owners were very friendly. The place was clean and had a well equipped kitchen - the only thing lacking was a pair of scissors :). I would highly recommend it. We stayed there with my toddler daughter and while it wasn't childproofed by any means, there was a minimal amount of things that she could get into and cause trouble with.
beautiful, private cottage in the woods
i couldn’t be more pleased with our stay here. the owner was very accommodating, and allowed us to come into his place with only a couple hours’ notice. he checked in on us throughout the stay to make sure everything was going well. when it was time to leave, i locked my phone in the cottage by accident, and the entire family helped search through their spare keys to find it!
the cottage itself is very cozy. the downstairs living area is small, but has everything you would need, including a washer and dryer. the upstairs is very spacious, with beautiful lofted ceilings, and a large bathroom.
my family and i were very happy to stay here. the location is great, the house is great, and the people are great. we’ll be staying here again soon.
Cozy cottage in quiet neighborhood
This cottage is cozy and while on the owners' home property, is separate from the main house. Eyal, the owner, is very nice and made sure I got there ok! There is a reserved space for cottage guests which is great so I didn't have to worry about finding parking. The cottage has a kitchen -- a big plus for me since I didn't want to spend tons of money going out to eat -- and the property is close to grocery stores. The property is also very close to shopping malls, hiking locations, and other activities (I spent some time at Bellevue Botanical Garden which was awesome!). Having wireless available in the cottage was also helpful for me since a major reason I went on my short retreat wad to get some writing done and was able to access my cloud drive.
Overall, my stay was very peaceful and I enjoyable, and I would stay there again if I have the chance! If you are looking to visit Seattle and the surrounding area, I highly recommend it.
Some other things to note about the cottage: there is a washing machine and dryer in the cottage; there is a dish washer, pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc. in the kitchen; the bathroom has a shower but no bathtub (which was not an issue for me).
Nice place that is quiet, really nice neighborhood, beautiful area. Recommend for an escape from the city noise but still close to city.
opportunity for improvement
The owners are very nice and the place was ok. The "cottage" is not well insulated and drafty. There are no curtains on the downstairs which would help and the curtains upstairs are more for looks than function. The "cottage" is in the trees and the walks were covered in pine needles and dog poop. There were several dog poop piles, some were moldy so not recent. We swept the entry every time we came in so as not to track pine needles everywhere. Also there is not cable television and none of the local stations actually come in. There is the ability to log into your own netflicks account which is what we did. There were just many things that could have been nicer without much effort. I would not say you shouldn't stay there but would not personally stay there again.
Thank you for the feedback.
We apologize for your experience, we wish you had communicated that during your stay. Indeed our driveway was filled with a layer of leaves, pine cones and those annoying pine needles on the ground as is typical this time of year. It is unfortunate that you have arrived just as we experienced several very strong end of fall wind storms followed by heavy rainfall. During this time, we wait for a window of opportunity of a dry day in order to clean up the leaves as they are hard to clean up while they are wet, sticky and heavy. The property is now cleaned (but the forecast warns of another wind storm, so another clean up is on the way). Regarding the curtains, the bedroom have curtains, but in the downstairs, we, and our guests typically appreciate the privacy with the trees curtain. However we will look into installing curtains to accommodate guests that prefer that arrangement. Also, we provide Netflix service free for our guests on our account (using apple streaming device). It is possible that the guest before you logged out of our account without our knowledge. We will log back in with our account. Indeed, due to the weather, public channels antenna reception can be spotty and it appears that you experienced that.
Again, we wish you had communicated that and we would have helped to accommodate you the best we can.
If there is any way we can compensate for the inconvenience please let us know. Our goal is for our guests to enjoy the beauty of the nature around us and the beauty and comfort of the cottage inside.
