About OLIVIA

I live with my husband and our young daughter in a country side 30 km from Rome - north side. Manage it, is our main business. We breed organic cows and we have a farm for holidays. We live there and we like to welcome people all over the word.

We like traveling around the world and often we spend our free time so! Knowing people and discover countries is the best way to increase your knowledge.

OLIVIA purchased this apartment in 1900

Why OLIVIA chose Rome

This apartment belongs to my husband family since the first years of 1900.

We always thank him! It is fantastic to have such a wonderful apartment in the earth of Rome.

For long time we rented it an a family but now we like sometimes and to spend few days at Residenza Sansoni just walking and discovering the simple life of these narrow streets.

What makes this apartment unique

Residenza Sansoni is located close to Piazza Navona, Roman forum and Coloseum, in the historic center of Rome, west of the Pantheon. The Piazza Navona area is full of many outdoor cafes, restaurants and night clubs in the neighbourhood .The downstair restaurant, “Al Braciere”, makes to our guests a special price and offer a test of genuine Roman cooking. Piazza Campo Dei Fiori is very close to Residenza Sansoni. This piazza become a popular spot for people to hang out to admire wonderful Renaissance and Baroque buildings, street artists, musicians and poets.

By day Campo de' Fiori is dominated by a world famous outdoor food market. By late afternoon a large team of street cleaners have removed any trace of the market and it becomes the lazy hangout for those having a coffee or aperitivo in one of the many outdoor bars lining the piazza. In the summer people spill out of the bars into the piazza and it has a party like atmosphere. The area always has a vibrant feel and is home to some of the best restaurants in town.

Great location and host!

  • 5 of 5

Olivia was wonderful. She kindly took the time to provide us with recommendations for what to see while we were there - including making notes on our maps with local places to stop! There was a small delay in the apartment being ready, but nothing that upset our plans. She even walked us to a restaurant she recommended, which was the BEST food we had in Rome. The location was wonderful, close to tons of great restaurants and a late night spots. We were close to the metro as well as markets. The views were wonderful -- we enjoyed several glasses of wine while people watching. It was an incredible way to experience the city.

Bel soggiorno!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely apartment in a perfect Rome location

  • 5 of 5

Wish I was back in Olivia's apartment already! From start to last Olivia provided a first rate service including organising a taxi to collect us at the airport, and take us back for our evening departure. The apartment had everything we needed and, with two bathrooms, was perfect for us and our two teenagers. The location is second to none if you want to stay in the heart of Rome with restaurants, a supermarket and market within a minutes walk away. Despite outside temperatures above 30 degrees the apartment remained cool, and with comfy beds and air conditioning there was no problem sleeping. The apartment has everything you need to make a meal and Olivia's recommended restaurants were excellent. We were delighted to find an historic building for our holiday and feel privileged to be part of this great city if only for a few days. Thank you Olivia we hope to return to your lovely apartment again and again!

Very Convenient Location

  • 3 of 5

First, let me say that Olivia was great to work with and the woman that met us at the apartment was wonderful. We were several hours late arriving and she waited patiently at the apartment to greet us. (Be sure that you totally understand the bus system and hope there are no demonstrations going on, if that is your choice for transportation!!!) The apartment was located near many great restaurants and just a very short distance to Piazza Navona. We walked to all the major sights, but bus stop was just a block from the apartment. Noise from the 2 sidewalk restaurants just below the apartment did make sleeping somewhat difficult, which might have been overcome with the use of air conditioner. While the location was convenient, we were a little distraught as we were led to the apartment and told that transients sometimes slept in the lane outside our apartment. Not being from big cities, this was a little unnerving. We did not have any problem because of this and the restaurants mentioned above made us feel more comfortable, as they were just steps away from our door- just be aware. It was definitely nice to have the 2 bathrooms, but one of them was not quite up to our standard of clean. There is also a very low ceiling in the hallway, which caused more than one of us to hit our heads during our stay. By the crumbling plaster at that spot, it was evident that we were not the only ones who didn't duck down! If we returned to Rome, we would not minding staying in this general area, but would probably find a different apartment. Although I gave the apartment 3 stars, I would give Olivia and her helper 5 stars!

Owner's Response: Dear Jerry, thank you very much for spending time in reviewing in detail my apartment. As you said rightly, my apartment is in the heart of old Rome, a characteristic mezzanine , with a wonderful view on Via del Governo Vecchio - that you forgot to mention - with not very high ceiling. Unfortunately we can't manage this because it is in an historical building protected by Italian Ministry of Culture. As in all large cities of the world, often, in the historical district, you can meet homeless sleeping in the street. Because we are in a walking distance from the Vatican we have to sustain and help these poor people who do not bother anyone. There is a group of youth volunteers who daily manage this problem and controll them in the night. Regarding the cleaness of one of the two bathrooms, I am very surprise. It would be appreciated if you call us to check. We consider the cleannes of the apartment a key factor. Because mrs Breysi will wait you for long time, she would return to check with you the problem. However, thank you again for choosing my apartment I'm sorry not to meet you again. This is definitely not an apartment for those looking for hit-and-run efficiency. Three nights are not enough time to appreciate spirit and soul of the center of Rome, with its wonders and its inefficiencies.....thank you again!
