We spent last year completely re-doing it and it's available for over-flow guests who rent the larger cottage. Call us if you are interested in learning more.
Fennville is definitely a 4 season community, so check out the happenings in all seasons...you'll surely enjoy the colors of fall and our Annual Goose Festival/Get your Goose in Fennville Michigan! About Kym Zumbrink
I was born in Fennville, and we came back to live here after our marriage and a short 2 years in Troy Michigan where we started our careers after college. The family hardware lured us back, and we settled and raised our family here in Fennville. I grew up just down the street from Cute As The Dickins/my grandparents home. It has been a true labor of love to restore the home and keep it in our family, as it has always been, since the 1930's. The picture is of one of our daughters, with her daughter, and 4 of our other daughters daughters! We're a family of many daughters! We still own and operate the local True Value hardware that has been in my family for over 135 years...and I also work in a local retirement community as their Move-In Coordinator/decorator. Life is full, and sharing our family cottage, helping others make memories on Hutchins Lake, has been a true joy.
Kym Zumbrink purchased this House in 2013
Why Kym Zumbrink chose Clyde
The location of our home cannot be beat. It's the best spot on Hutchins Lake in our opinion...having owned property on the lake and grown up here. Enjoy 75 ft of pristine, natural lake frontage, and beautiful sunsets from the shaded yard of this property. The home is much larger than it appears from the outside. This location is central to all West Michigan has to offer, a quick ride to Holland, Saugatuck, Glenn and South Haven, and a quiet retreat away from it all. You like Lake Michigan too? No problem...great beaches within 5-6 miles from the cottage... Hutchins Lake is a VERY clean lake, and it warms up so nicely...you will love this beautiful find. Nice big yard for all kinds of activities and a play house, slide and swings for kids plus basketball court.
What makes this House unique
Location Location Location! Enjoy the quiet of this private lakefront neighborhood and the closeness to all of the vacation activities you can think of in West Michigan. We're right on the lake...not across the road, or down a hill...just a nice easy walk across the beautiful yard to the lakes edge making it easy and safe for families. The lake is shallow along our 75 ft of frontage, safe for children to wade and swim...with it becoming gradually deeper. We've added a play set for children, 2 kayaks, paddle boat, toys, and have provided all of the amenities to make your vacation relaxing and care-free. We think Fennville is West Michigan's best kept secret...with it's quaint downtown, and well known restaurants and winery. New this year is Virtue Hard Cider production farm near the Fenn Valley winery. The Beervangelist also calls Fennville home...learn all about these interesting people and places during your stay. Cranes Pie Pantry Cider Mill and U-Pick is just around the corner. Or how about a 400 acre organic blueberry farm for your picking pleasure (Pleasant Hill Farms)...or buy their frozen/shippable berries already picked and boxed. Our fantastic mix of restaurants attract visitors from many miles away / so be sure to try them all! Many antique stores and art galleries plus very unique lakeshore towns are located within minutes from our home. Some of the finest Lake Michigan beaches are a quick car ride from Hutchins Lake. We think you'll like Hutchins Lake enough you will want to spend most of your time enjoying this recreational hot spot. The local music and art scene can't be beat...from Free Tuesday in the Park concerts to fun and lively bands in the local restaurants...right here in Fennville (10 min. from Saugatuck and Douglas... Come and enjoy the flavor our this unique and hidden jewel.

Great Getaway--Quiet Perfect Lake
My wife and I spent a quiet week in this great cottage on the perfect lake. It was calm and peaceful--a time to relax and enjoy. We went kayaking every day (often twice) and as wildlife lovers were not disappointed--blue herons, swans, raccoon, a golden eagle, humming birds, ducks, geese, and even a bald eagle! Just what we were looking for...
Wonderful all around. Had a really great time.
Love the house especially the retro renovation and a really good location; short drives to every where we wanted to go. Roomier than we expected, too, though we also spent a lot of time outside on the back patio looking at the beautiful lake. Fabulous setting, very peaceful, quiet but lots to do nearby. We'll be back.
Amazing Vacation on Hutchins Lake
Cute as a Dickens lake house lives up to its name and more! Our family which consists of my husband, 2 children (ages 5 and 2) my mother and myself spent 7 days at this lovely lake home. We had everything at our disposal including 2 kayaks, a paddle boat, beach supplies, toys and an amazing outdoor play set. Our kids were always entertained while we were there! The location of this home is ideal to visit all the adorable towns including Fennville, Saugatuk, South Haven, and Holland. We can't wait to stay at Cute as Dickens again!!
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at our family lake home Cute As the Dickins! It sounds like you took full advantage of all the lake and area have to offer, and we welcome back anytime! You were excellent guests and we appreciate the wonderful care you took of the cottage. Cheers! Bob and Kym
Cute as the Dickens
We had a wonderful time at this adorable cottage. It is on an amazing lot. We enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the lake during the day, and sitting by the fire pit at night. The kids were constantly out in the kayaks and paddle boat that were provided. They paddled all over that lake fishing. (catch & release, of course) None of us were ready to come home.
We're so happy you enjoyed all that our Lake cottage has to offer. Our goal is for our guests to relax and enjoy the lake and all the area has to offer. Sounds like your stay was all of that. Cheers!
We had a fun, relaxing week at this charming cottage.
Three generations spent a week here and loved every minute. Having spent many summers in South Haven it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the warmth of Hutchins lake. The kids (ages 15, 14, 8 & 6) enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat as well as swimming and fishing in the lake. Lots of books were read and card games played. We took a trip to South Haven and Saugatuck but mostly stayed close to the cottage, enjoying the town, winery and Crane's u-pick and restaurant. The cottage was immaculate and well stocked. And the extra touches of ice cream and soda were greatly appreciated! We were sad to leave!
Great, clean cabin on the lake!
It was a great, very clean cabin. Perfect location to Saugatuck, Holland, and South Haven. We had a great time!
We appreciate the care this guest took of our home, and welcome them back any time. Sounds like they took in a lot of activities while here and enjoyed the cottage as well as location.
Thank you for choosing us for your vacation destination!
