We are a family of 12 which included 2 children. This place is absolutely amazing. The staff and everyone who works there could not have been nicer. If you truly want a place to relax and enjoy this is it. We will be going back. If security is on your mind, there is 24 hour security provided, never had a problem.
Great place for the price
This place is run by nice people and right on the public beach. The house is spacious and the bedrooms are air conditioned. The pool is a small plunge pool, not a real swimming pool and the public areas can be hot. The appliances and televisions are not perfectly maintained but the staff is responsive. The staff clean every day and leave fresh beach towels.
Overall it's a great place, right on a beautiful beach, with six large bedrooms. We had a wonderful time.
Incredible villa - Perfect for a beach wedding!
We rented this villa for our family to stay in during the weekend of our beach wedding, which was held at El Paraiso Beach Club. The property, staff and service were all top notch...they made everything incredible for us and it was the most memorable weekend of our lives! The house is beyond beautiful - the photos don't do it justice, and the rooms were each extremely comfortable. The best part is the villa comes with its own private beach area out front where you can order food and drinks from the beach club next door. After our wedding weekend, we decided we're going to come back here year after year with our families - it is such an amazing place! A HUGE thanks to Silvia, Victoria, David, and everyone else for their hospitality!!!
Best Weekend Ever!
We rented out the house for our beach wedding and it was phenomenal! The location is stunning, the house is beautiful, clean, spacious, and really, really fun! The wedding went perfectly and Silvia, the manager of the property, was so lovely and always around if we needed anythingl. All the staff are so nice and helpful, we had very little issues and if we needed to ask questions someone was always there. It was a truly magical weekend and I can't recommend this place enough!
WE WERE ROBBED, OWNER WAS NOT SYMPATHETIC
We booked Hacienda Paraiso for a girls weekend - there were 12 of us total and staying in a safe place was our number one priority. We chose the house because it was indicated that there was 24/7 security.
In short we were robbed on the second night, 3 laptops, 2 phones, 1000USD in cash and a passport that "appeared" in a safe after we had left. This all occurred while we were upstairs in the living room, the majority of the bedrooms are downstairs. There were 2 guards on duty that night, neither spoke English, and we have no idea of their whereabouts during the short time that the robbery took place. Along with the manager on duty, we agreed that it would be best to have the police come during the day to report the crimes. We were then told that we had to go file at the police station and as women we did not feel comfortable doing this without an english speaking translator/advocate. We were in touch with David, the owner, as soon as it happened. He was in Germany so was not in touch with us until the next evening. We unfortunately did not have the best interaction with him. He was very defensive over the situation rather than sympathetic. He kept saying over and over that we should have had the police come and could not understand why we did not want them to come at the time and that we should “be more open-minded”. He also stated that he would offer no compensation if “that’s what we were looking for”. Up until that moment I had mentioned NOTHING about compensation; we were just looking for help and wanted to know that we would be safe for the remainder of our stay.
During checkout Silvia (who had been out of town up until then) came to the house to get the full story. We communicated perfectly and relayed our side of the story. She had apparently gotten many sides, all which were wrong. One of them being that the police showed up and we refused to let them in - 100% not true. We were never told there were police on the property. We felt very comfortable with her so one of the girls went with her to the police station to try and file a report. When they arrived the police station was “closed for lunch”. So in the end no one was able to file a report.
To top of the eventful weekend off, one of the ladies returned home with what her doctor in NY identified as bed bug bites.
We were very disappointed in how this whole matter was dealt with. As said before, we felt there was no one on our side when we had been completely violated.
i am sorry you feel that way, however, most of your story seems to be a inaccurate, I assumed for insurance purposes or intent to get a refund on your vacation.
As you can see in all of the reviews posted as well as on the dozen of physical reviews not posted, we have never had any issues like this in the past, our security team as well as all of our staff, has been working with us for years and is the very first time anything was reported missing, since the night that you reported that, we try to get the police involved which you refused to let them in, maybe because none of you was in any state to do so or maybe was not true, as you mention I was out of the country but i called back when I found out, at which point I asked you to please call the police, and you continued refusing to do so, which made no sense to me, immediately after you asked me for a compensation and a refund, an I said I would not even talk about that if you would not be willing to go to the police, you then threatened me to write a bad review and refused to pay your bill of the services you had order, at which point, we offer to call the police so we can let them know about what was going on, only that way you paid your bill, and still refused to do a report for your incident. by the time you were willing to make a report, the allowed time after the fact had already passed and the police can not do anything anymore.
now you are asking us to please send you some kind of report, so you can collect from your insurance...
anyhow, i mentioned at the time, what you needed to do, I offered someone to go with you and you refused, i even said that for your claim you needed that and only then you tried to do the report, but was too late by then (24 hours had passed). when the maids were cleaning, they found only a passport left at one of the security boxes... by the way, you never mentioned any cash at all until now and why was it not on the safety deposit box?
anyhow, I dont know but your behavior was very strange... and because you would not even want to call the police and the fact that it was all a group of young girls that were partying, then it made it look like you wanted to take advantage of the insurance, but we dont know, and we will never know now since you never called the police. I am sorry you feel that way, because every one else that had ever stay there including many celebrities had an incredible time.
Excellent vacation place, wonderful hospitality, great service. we highly recommend it. We stayed with our 3 kids and their families and we will sure come again as I can't imagine we can find a better spot.
Vacationing at Hacienda Paraiso Tulum, gives you easy access to all the fantastic archeological sites, natural parks, best beaches and wild life experiences in the Riviera Maya. Located just 128 km south of Cancun, 260 km north of the state capital Chetumal and with Playa del Carmen only 45 minutes away, we are set right in the middle with easy access to all the famous and exciting activities the region has to offer.
The Tulum Ruins, the most visited archeological site in the Americas, is located just a short walk from El Paraiso Hotel. Being one of the last Mayan cities to be abandoned, and said to be the finest example of Mayan architecture in the state of Quintana Roo, it is a must for every historically interested traveler.
The Ruins, set on top of majestic cliffs dropping into the Caribbean ocean offers dramatic views.
The name Tulum, was given by the explorers during the early 20th century. The Mayan word Tulum, translates into 'wall' or 'the walled city, and got its name referring to the 12 feet high walls, protecting three sides of the ancient city with the ocean being the forth protection.
The city may formerly have been known as Zama, which means 'the city of dawn.'
Thus its name, the Mayans living at Tulum is known to have worshiped the setting sun, not the rising. Tulum served as a trading port and rose to prominence around 1200 AD, and it’s believed that around 500 people lived inside the walled city, those being mainly nobles, while the working community lived outside the walls.
El Castillo – the largest of the ruins, is set at the top of the cliff, and served as a navigation aid.
After being abandoned by the Mayans around 75 years after the arrival of the Spaniards, Tulum was still visited by Indians in the area for ceremonies, and also served as shelter for Indian refugees during the 'War of Castes'.
A visit to the Mayan Ruins brings your back to in time. The amazing views, and well preserved temples breaths of magic and history.
The natural park of Xel Ha, is an excellent park to experience the nature of Riviera Maya.
Swim along their large system of channels lined by mangrove. The inlet is created by underground rivers leading out to the ocean. Home to over 70 species of both freshwater and seawater fish. Various cenotes and caves are available inside the park and open for visitors to explore.
The ecological and natural wonders are many. The park also holds an apiary and a plant nursery
Culture, wildlife and history are just a few of the experiences awaiting you at Xcaret. Only 45 minutes from El Paraiso hotel, this natural park is one of the most visited along the Riviera Maya. Here you can see the pre-Hispanic ball game played as the Mayans used to play it, a replica of a Mayan Village, as well as the Butterfly Pavilion that is considered one of the most spectacular in Latin America. The Flora and Fauna are flourishing inside Xcaret. In this well prepared park, you have a chance to get a close look at many of the exotic species that can be found in the Riviera Maya. The evening show at Xcaret can’t be described as anything else than spectacular, bringing visitors on a journey of the history and traditions of Mexico though song, dance and music.
The Sian Kaan Biosphere just south of Tulum, is one of the hidden jewels on the Riviera Maya.
Sian Kaan is Mayan and means 'Where the Sky is born', and when arriving to Sian Kaan it looks as if the sky is clearer and it is hard to distinguish where the ocean ends and the sky begins.
Sian Kaan is part of UNESCOS World Heritage sites and consists of 1, 3 acres of tropical ecosystem, making it one of the largest protected areas in Mexico.
Home to 800 different plant species, 350 bird species, and with a part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef inside the Biosphere, Sian Kaan is also home to an abundant marine life.
Various species of turtles, dolphins, manatees, as well as crocodiles, pumas, jaguars and monkeys can be seen within the Biosphere.
The wildlife and nature is seen at its best in Sian Kaan. It is a place like nowhere else, a place where you feel as one with the nature, and close to the sky.
One of the unique natural wonders of the Riviera Maya is the cenotes. Considered sacred by the Mayans, and connected in majestic systems of underground rivers and caves, they are believed to have been created when a meteor struck the Yucatan Peninsula millions of years ago.
Over 6000 cenotes have been found in the Yucatan peninsula, and many more are still believed to be undiscovered.
Cenote comes from the Mayan word 'Dzonot' which means 'hole filled with water'. A cenote is formed when the soft limestone collapse due to erosion and the roof of a cavern falls in.
They were extremely important to the Mayans as this is where they got their drinking water, and were considered a holy place and the entrance to the underworld.
