Enjoy your morning coffee watching the sun come up over the central mountains of Kauai including Mt. Kapalaoa, Mt. Kahili, Mt. Kawaikini and the Haupu Range. A 25 minute walk on the lovely paved walkway through Poipu Kai will take you to the Grand Hyatt with restaurants and shows. Many more dining and shopping options are within a short 5 minute car ride. NOTE: No elevator

The two bedrooms are of equal size and both have access to their own lanai. The main bedroom has a king bed with access to the main lanai. The bathroom is right next to the bedroom and was recently remodeled to include a large walk-in shower.

The second bedroom has a unique and versatile bedding plan - one queen and one twin *. This can be the ideal arrangement for children of different ages, 2 adult couples traveling together or a nanny. Bring Grandma with! This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower/tub combination and access to the second lanai. This bedroom also has cable television.

NOTE: For excellent service while you're on-island we have contracted with a professional property management / real estate firm, located just two miles from the condo, as our on-island contact for your needs. As the owner you will work directly with me on pricing and any questions you may have throughout the entire process. Our on-island property management representatives will be there to help you with any maintenance or housekeeping needs, book activities or just give you some suggestions on things to see and do.

About Deborah Taubenheim

After many trips to Hawaii since the '70's Kauai was our island of choice. In 1998 we made that vacation home dream a reality. All it took were the views from lanai and we were sold.

We currently live in Seattle with our 3 dachshund children. Living a relatively short distance away means that we can make many trips there for both vacationing and being a hands-on owner when it comes to updating and maintaining our condo. We ensure our guests have the same experience we wanted in our many years of renting. Our (human) children were only 10 and 12 when we purchased and they've enjoyed many long stays at Nihi Kai over the years - testament to the fact that Kauai is for children too.

We had such a wonderful time in this rental. It was immaculate and so very beautiful. Loved the view of the ocean and so close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. But most of all we loved how the area was so peaceful and allowed us just to kick back and relax. We felt so welcome by the staff and were greeted with a little "goodie" bag of essentials to get us started at the beginning of our stay. I would highly recommend this rental. I have already told my cousin, who lives in the state of Washington, about it and will be sending her the information.

  • The two bedrooms are basically both master suites of the same size and each with access to it's own lanai. Bedroom 1 has a king bed with access to the ocean-facing lanai and wonderful views of the mountains and ocean. The bathroom is right next to it. Bedroom 2 has 1 queen and 1 twin bed which offers many options for families, different ages of children, and adult couples traveling together. It has it's own ensuite, small flat screen TV, and access to the second lanai. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate guests sleeping on sofa.

Owner in constant contact to be sure everything OK. property management company did great job with cleaning and service....Everything is provided in the condo, including boogie boards and beach towels...Quiet, well landscaped complex with lovely pool and tennis courts and easy walk to beach...Amazing view from this upper unit...Just two of us so we had lots of extra space...We golfed every day, and Poipu Bay Golf Course is just up the road and one of the best in Hawaii (we tried Princeville one day and wish we had just stayed at Poipu Bay)....No air conditioning but lots of fans and you need to remember to close the shades to keep the afternoon sun from heating the condo....Too many stairs to the upper unit for anyone who is not mobile....Owner is the best VRBO owner we have encountered...

Wonderful Condo

Having visited Kauai over 15 times, I have had the good fortune to have stayed in Nihi Kai 833 many times. If you have read the many (all 5 star) reviews on this site you have found them all to be very positive. The best review I can give is to heartily confirm the others. The location and views are outstanding, and the condo is well appointed, furnished and maintained. The above photos and description are accurate and not the least bit misleading, as often seen. The owners, Deborah and Peter, really care about their guests experience and their on island management company is close by and attentive. For the value, what you get for what you pay, you would be hard pressed to do better.

Beautiful Unit 833 Nihi KAI

We had a wonderful time with excellent privacy. It was just 2 couples but ideal also if you have children as the second bedroom had a twin and double bed. 2 separate lanais as well. Views of he sunset were gorgeous from the main lanai. Well stocked with all you might need.

Great view - great location

This was our second trip to Kauai and we stayed in this condo for eight nights. For us the location was great - Just a short drive to very good restaurants, the beach in walking distance and amazing views. There were boogie boards and beach chairs in the condo which was great for us and everything else in the condo was as described. Thanks Deb for the help on our last day there! It meant the world to us.
