Rare dog friendly rental

Loved the dog dishes, leash and dog bed provided. Kitchen had everything we needed and was close to ocean, nice dock for fishing, clean and nicely decorated.

This place is locatd on the water and yet near all the local business "attractions". Great views from the dining area, and a nice rear deck suitable for dining as well. Super clean with plenty of extras.

This place was really great for our first time traveling with our fur baby. So thankful for a great weekend. The house is in walking distance to ice cream shop, putt putt etc and it was so nice finding a home reasonably priced and allowed my shihtzu to venture with us! Would definitely rent again!

Loved the location on inlet and proximity to beach. Love the way the house flows, makes a great place for entertaining. We loved the location, layout, and size of the home. The couch needs to be replaced because you fall through one area when you sit down and the washing machine needs to be replaced because it shakes violently and very loudly with even the smallest load on a delicate cycle.

Great location! House is a great size for 2 families. Beds are very comfortable and linens supplied. The door code didn't work one day and I was able to get the company right away on the phone on 4th of July. The ignition button on the grill didn't work, the blender didn't work and some of the stove elements weren't working. House was relatively clean. We enjoyed our stay!

Roomy, Clean, Canal Front Home

Check in/out was super easy with keyless entry. The house has definitely been recently updated and everything was very new and clean inside. Beds were comfortable and I liked there was a queen and single in each room for our family to spread out. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals - plenty of dishes, pots and pans, etc. The owners have all the light switches labeled and everything organized. There were three bikes which we used quite a bit, cornhole boards, two skim boards, a cooler on wheels and three beach chairs. A grill as well - but we didn't use that. We didn't use the dock at all but it was nice being on the canal. Lots of nice outdoor seating on the decks and a picnic table below which we used to sit outside and eat. Fairly quiet street and a very easy 5 - 8 minute stroll to the beach access. I would suggest bringing extra pillows (if you are a pillow lover like me), there was only one pillow per person. Also extra blankets if you would like. There was only a sheet and then the quilt on each bed. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice house but needs care

I would like to preface this review by stating that I have been vacationing in Ocean Isle and Sunset for 7 years and have never given a bad review. This is honest, not malicious. It is a nice home in a great area but many things need attention. First, I believe the cleaning staff needs to be told to pay more attation. They only spent 45 minutes cleaning. I know that because we showed up early and sat outside. Cleaning crew pulled up at 3 and left at 3:45. When we got in there, the dishwasher had dirty dishes in it, the beds, couches and floors were all very sandy. I know it's the beach but I expect floors to be swept and vacuumed. Maybe a handheld vacuum over the couch? Some of the utensils in the drawers were dirty and the kitchen floor mats were sticky. As for the overall house, the expectations that I had from the description were not met. For instance, they advertise watercraft availability, but they have no life vests. This should be clearly stated in the description. We were disappointed not to get to use the watercraft because my children are not going in the canal with no life vests. We couldn't even rent them. There is also no ladder on the dock. When I contacted Vacasa about it, they didn't seem to care and I got a hum drum "oh well" response. Blender in kitchen didn't work. Grill was so nasty, there was no using that. Had small disappoitments throughout the week. Wouldn't rent from Vacasa again. They just don't seem to care.

Suitable home/space - Great Location… BUT not maintained/cleaned properly prior to arrival!

Few issues with how this home was prepared/maintained. When we checked in the yard looked like it hadn’t been cut in 4-5 weeks. No way possible it had been missed a week or two. This was the first impression we had walking in. Completely unacceptable. I had to call Vacasa 3 days in a row and finally chew them out on third day before someone was finally sent to mow it. This should have been addressed before our arrival but then at first call someone should have been sent to resolve the problem. Very disappointed. Next issue was related to the shower/bath tub upstairs. It was clogged with trash and hair and was not cleaned thoroughly. I called and requested to have someone come out to clean which happened the same day (appreciated) but still not the environment you want to have to try and bathe your kids in. Third major issue was related to fact there were 4 TVs in the house but only 2 of them had working television watching capabilities (ie. Cable, streaming TV, streaming apps, etc…). I called Vacasa to have it addressed. Someone came out same day (again appreciated) to look into the problem and was supposed to come back the following day to resolve. He never returned to my knowledge and the other two TVs never were usable the entire trip. Also very disappointing. House all in all worked well for our needs (location, layout, adequate space). Loved the location to central hub of Ocean Isle. Ultimately there were major misses in the cleaning/prep of the home for our family to arrive. Dealing with these issues I don’t know if I’d book the house again because of concern I’d deal with same problems again.
