Guestbook comments from the owner

Once again, my Wife and I decided to return to our favorite vacation spot at Quiet Hill Ranch. The drive into this lovely place is calm and serene with abounding beauty. The rustic environment when you arrive is perfect if you want to just sit back, relax, and enjoy what Texas is all about. It takes you back to a time when life was simple, yet fulfilling. There are no words that can describe the calmness that you feel when you sit on the front porch of your own private cabin and observe the beauty that Texas Hill Country has to offer. Jim and Cindy are wonderful, respectful, and kind people that make you feel like you are part of their family. If you want a perfectly quiet, nostalgic, and private romantic getaway with an old west feel...well, partner, put on your boots, get in your truck, and high tail it over to Quiet Hill Ranch to take in the true Texas countryside. Thanks Jim and Cindy. You know we'll be back.

Perfect for youth ministry training retreat

  • 5 of 5

We needed a place to spend a few days training our students to lead bible clubs this summer. We brought 15 students (middle school, and high school), 7 adults and my two small children. The cabins had the perfect amount of space, comfort, and beauty. The view when you step out of your door onto the porch is breathtaking! The area we called the lodge was a great meeting place for all of us to eat together. We also held our large group meetings there. The large kitchen area made it easy to prep meals for all of us. The pool, and play areas were perfect for the students during their free time. I grew up in Texas, and I have never seen some of the birds that we saw in the observatory. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely plan to have our next retreat at The Quiet Hill Ranch! Thank you Jim and Cindy for the perfect weekend!

Great gathering place for family and friends - oh and the wildlife!

  • 5 of 5

I hosted a 50th birthday party for my husband with multiple families of elementary and teen aged kids. There was something for everyone. No need to bring anything for entertainment except music. There are lots of games in the lodge, full kitchen with pots, pans, plates, the works. All accommodations were clean and well appointed. Birds and deer abound. The views are breathtaking - even for this born and bred Texas girl. Fredericksburg is close enough but no need to ever leave the ranch. And the owners are so gracious. I'd book it again!

Wonderful getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had most of the family in attendance, so booked the whole place. It was without a doubt the best family oriented stay you could ask for. The lodge had everything you could want for your home away from plus beautiful views and carefully thought out accommodations. Jim and Cindy are as nice as they can be. I couldn't be more pleased with the whole experience.

Although the drive was a little further out of town, when you get to the see the beauty of this ranch it makes the drive 100% worth it! The lodge came equipped with everything that you need to cook meals for a large group, and plenty of room for everyone that comes. We left our doors open to the cabins while getting ready in the morning because the view you see when you walk out of the cabins was something you just wanted to stare at as long as you could. We were sad that we visited when it was too cold to swim because sitting in the pool while looking down in to the canyon was something I wish we could've experienced. We'll have to come back when it's warmer!

Quiet Hill Ranch is centrally located amidst three jewels of the Texas Hill Country. Fredericksburg, Mason, & Kerrville are all equal distance from the ranch.

Fredericksburg is famous for it's museums, dining, wineries, shopping, wildflowers, Enchanted Rock, golf, Rockbox Theater, art galleries (Whistle Pik's a top 5 in the southwest), & soooo much more.

Mason is blossoming into one of the most charming towns in the Hill Country. It's laid back courthouse square is perfect for antique-ing, wine tasting, Odion Theater, & the city park & golf course.

Kerrville has the Guadalupe River, CAA museum, Former Texas Ranger foundation, a thriving artist community & some good restaurants.
