About Owen & Patricia Brown
We are always having an adventure. We're currently in Bellingham aboard our sail boat living each day to it's fullest. My wife is from Boston and I am from Nova Scotia. We want everyone to enjoy this house as we do!
Owen & Patricia Brown purchased this House in 2009
Why Owen & Patricia Brown chose Bellingham
We fell in love with Bellingham because of it's beauty and laid back nature. We chose this property based on the feeling we had once we first stepped in. The full window face of the house captured our attention as we just starred at the view of the lake. With the remodels heavy on the wood work, we made it cozy and comfortable so we felt we were always in a summer home.
What makes this House unique
It needed a ton of work to make it what we wanted. Our first 2 years of living there we always had contractors walking through our home. Now it is exactly the way we pictured it when we first stepped in. The main focal point it the rock wall behind the wood stove. Gives a great atmosphere while sitting up high above the lake.

Beautiful 3 story property
We loved the property and the amenities included. Highly recommend and would rent again!
Glad you enjoyed your stay! Please come back again!
Beautiful property overlooking Lake Whatcom
My family and I stayed for a week in August, and we loved it! The home was the perfect size for us, and we did lots of cooking in the kitchen, lounging on the deck, and dipping out feet in the hot tub. The views were beautiful, although unfortunately we dealt with bad smoke from forest fires in Canada while we were there, but nothing anyone could have done about that. You can walk down to AM/PM beach from the house, although it will be a pretty hilly hike back up! I loved the Sudden Valley-area, and can't wait to go back for another stay.
We had a wonderful stay at this mountain side beauty! Patricia was very helpful by answering all of my questions and getting back to me right away. The house was very clean and had many amenities and views from all the different decks/porches. The beds were so comfortable and we all slept very well, (so quiet) and the hot tub was utilized every night... (heats up quickly). We bought some local coffee and beer from the market near by and used the amazing espresso machine provided. The house had so many personal touches and it felt homey. There are many stairs and a steeper type driveway which wasn’t a problem for us, so I wouldn’t recommend for guests who have mobility issues. We also enjoyed checking out the falls near by and swimming in Whatcom lake. Thanks again for the warm hospitality!
Very nice house. We had five adults and one infant and fit perfectly.
Had five adults and fit perfectly. Cute home, nice deck and hot tub. Master bedroom is only one with a view. Living space is great with multiple decks and ways to relax.
While the view is beautiful, I have to say the house was a bit of a let down. The listing shows that it has three bedrooms, but in reality it is two bedrooms with a basement. You enter the house through the basement and there are no walls separating the entrance and the "bedroom." It is also musty smelling. The cleaning personnel also leave a lot to be desired... there was gunk all in the bathtubs and the beds had animal dander and hair all over the foam toppers (there were also no box springs on two of the beds, not the most comfortable). My whole family came down with sinus infections from staying in this house, so please, if you are sensitive to smells or allergic to dander, do not stay here.
It's always disappointing and surprising to get a review like this, especially after all the great reviews and memories made in this home. Also, to not have been notified during the stay so we could have the chance to make it right.
We can't expect to please every one. The ground level bedroom has 3 large windows overlooking the lake as the pictures show, a closet and a bathroom. It is not a basement. We are not shy about being a pet friendly house, enforcing no pets on furniture is difficult. Also, there are 2 separate entrances to the main living area of this house, so it is not necessary to go through a bedroom to get in. Sinus infection... that time of year the tree pollen is very bad, a lot of my co-workers were stuffed up as well. That is a first for me in a review after the 5 years we've been doing this.
We take all feedback seriously and still look into anything we hear. That's how we continue to please our guests. Being a pet friendly home we have the carpet in the ground level room professionally cleaned every 2 months and also have a de-humidifier in there. It has been fully re-modeled so there are no hidden mysteries hiding in there. We appreciate all feedback in any form.
Great serene location
Nice house with great lake view we had a great weekend in Bellingham
A place to get away and relax. A very quiet neighborhood but still very close to Downtown Bellingham. Take it all in and enjoy nature at it's finest. The lake is very accessible and lots of hiking trails. The Sudden Valley Golf Course has amazing scenery! The deer will welcome you!
