Our three-story house located right on Lake Chautauqua offers a beautiful setting for all seasons. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets on the luxurious patio, a kitchen stocked with amenities, and easy access to all the wonderful activities this area has to offer!
The house is right on the water and includes all the comfort and amenities a vacationer would need. There's room enough to sleep twelve people, which makes it a great place to bring people together and entertain. Our patio includes a grill, heating lamp, bonfire, and enough seating for large parties.
The best part about this cottage is the location. Not only do you get to wake up to a stunning view of the water every morning, but you're also close to a slew of exciting activities in the area.
This property is centrally located while offering space, privacy, and quietude that you might not find on the other side of the lake (where Bemus Point and Chautauqua Institution are located). It's only a short drive away from Jamestown or the Institution, so you can enjoy the benefits of these cultural hubs without paying the higher price.
We are David and Carolyn Russell, happy owners of a house on Chautauqua lake. We want to open our house to others to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere this unique, Upstate setting has to offer.
Carolyn purchased this house in 2011
In the summer, enjoy boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, mountain biking, golfing, and swimming. Purchase homemade pies and freshly-grown corn on the cob at stands on the side of the road. You're only a short drive away from hiking trails (including Panama Rocks and Buttermilk Falls), blueberry picking, Amish country, farmers markets, Southern Tier Brewing Company, and all the cultural activities of Chautauqua Institution!
In the winter months, cozy up by the fire. If the lake has frozen over, you can see people ice fishing or even ice skating! Just five minutes away, you can access an outdoors company that rents cross country skis and snowshoes. There are also various established trails for snowmobiles.
You can also head into Jamestown to check out the Lucille Ball Museum and other historical landmarks of the area.
On a rainy day, you can enjoy a movie at the local theatre, just a two minute walk away. The town of Lakewood also offers chain restaurants and a large grocery store (Wegmans).
