The Space:

This beautiful Gulf-front vacation rental includes patio doors in the living room leading to a private balcony that provides a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico. Pickleball courts are also nearby, so grab your paddles and have a friendly game together. Other features of this updated, beach cottage style vacation rental include a full-size refrigerator, upgraded cabinets, cooktop stove and oven, microwave and dishwasher, along with all the dishes, pots and utensils needed to prepare and serve meals. The bathroom includes a tub and a vanity, light fixture and cabinets. The living room has a TV, DVD player, VCR and a CD stereo system. The bedroom includes a TV, DVD player and a VCR. This condo features WiFi.



Things to Know

Complimentary beach service of one umbrella and two chairs is offered from March 1 through October 31. Paddleboards, kayaks, and bicycles are available for an additional charge.

All guests regardless of age are to be considered for Occupancy count in Fort Walton Beach, FL

Great location, good price. Surprised it was available. The condo supplied the chair/umbrella service which is cool but a little close to the people next to you.

Quiet location

Great place to stay. Quiet location, but still close to lots of retail and restaurants. The only reasons I didn’t give 5 stars are that there’s carpet (which is not ideal for a beach condo), and the wifi didn’t work on the balcony. But this was a clean, nice place to stay. We’d stay there again.

So Wonderful!

Everything was great! The beach (and free beach chairs/umbrella for guests), location, unit and amenities! If you don’t want to leave the island, the restaurants are great. AJ’s, Stewby’s, Old Bay Steamers, and local pub Fubar Pizza Bar. The beach is the most beautiful one we’ve ever visited; anywhere except Lake Michigan. Our only complaint/concern was the wood folding chairs on the patio. PS the Tom Thumb store could be a ‘gold mine!.

Overall nice stay

The unit has had some upgrades since photos were taken so that was a nice surprise. The one negative was renovating we were not aware of. The day we checked in there was drilling and hammering right above us so it wasn’t possible to take a nap after traveling. The view from the balcony was awesome, dolphins playing every morning. The beach attendant was very accommodating. Overall great stay, I would come back to Island Echos.

The place smelled like sewage...we bought some plug in air fresheners...it helped..will not stay in this unit again...

Needs updating

I have never left a VRBO review before now. My stays are usually great. We were disappointed in this unit. It is dated, needs a new coat of paint, and overall just looked old. The AC was loud and we discovered ants in the bathroom. No beach towels were provided and the master closet was full of items such as unused tile.

Excellent location and view

Great location and view, nice facility and condo, and the umbrella and 2 chairs was a huge plus (get there early early to reserve your spot!). We had 4 people in the condo but I'd say this would be best for 2! The condo lacked a few things we expected it to have, such as coffee filters, a spatula, frying pan, and an oven mit/pad to name a few things. The A/C is LOUD when it clicks on so much so that it would wake us up at night. Also the wifi only works in the bedroom. Otherwise this really was a perfect facility, location, and the view was WONDERFUL!

Needs a little TLC

Property could use a little TLC. Cleaners need to be more thorough. Kitchen needs to have basics added, cutting board, sharper knives (probably dull from cutting on granite), bed could be updated, couch needs replacing, very uncomfortable! We also never had WIFI, apparently just changed providers. Office was no help and spent many calls with provider to try and trouble shoot. No result. Other then those items, great location, great view, nice beach. We will be back, but probably do different property if a few of the minor upgrades are not done.

Room was nice

All was nice except the beach chairs, an agreement was made with the beach chair attendent to reserve particular chairs. This worked for awhile until another person, which apparently comes more often and tips better took over our pre-reserved chairs. When I asked about it the attendant "Travis" became very rude and stated he didn't make mistakes and ask if we still wanted to reserve other chairs, which we did. At the end of the stay I tipped Travis and said that it would have been more, if he kept our agreement. He then stated that we were now on a "no reserve chair list" for the next time we came to Island Echos. Our family have been coming to this same location for over 20 years and since a vacation is suppose to be relaxing. We spend 85% of the time on the beach.and so far have been treated respectfully until now. The beach chairs my be s side business, but the attendant running them makes all the difference on planning our next vacation. This incident may have ruined that relationship with Island Echos. .

Never Again. I Paid That Much for This??

Pro's: The view. Stocked kitchen. Easy to find. Con's: *Bathtub wouldn't drain properly, so you had a bath and shower in one. It was slick, had a dirty rim, mold around the tub, and had sand when I took my first shower from where it wasn't cleaned after the last guest. It had poor water pressure and the water didn't get hot. I made the front desk aware of the issues and they draino-ed the tub, but it never got cleaned. They told me it wasn't a priority. But hey, they brought more towels (that had black stains on them)! There's no vent or light near the tub, so you showered in the dark and with the door open so the bathroom didn't retain any moisture. *Baseboards- Disgusting. Especially in the bathroom. *Floors- Still sandy and not well cleaned. The bottom of my feet turned brown from walking around in the room. *Patio door- Extremely stiff and made me feel like I wasn't going to be able to get back in. *Bed- So firm that whatever side I was on went numb and tingling, waking me up from my sleep. I had to roll over, and then it happened on that side. The pillows were HUGE. Like, 8 inches thick and didn't flatten out. So I had to sleep without a pillow. There are also no extra blankets; you get a sheet and a very thin quilt. Worst sleep I've ever gotten on a vacation. Furniture- The starfish picture and the glass on top of the coffee table were broken (which is a safety hazard if you have kids). It made me nervous coming into a condo with broken things, in fear I would get charged for them. The light fixture in the living area had 1/3 bulbs that worked, so it was dark in there. Safety- There were workers and other people in the parking lot smoking weed. I'm ex-LEO, so I know what that smell is. The entry gate was left open on our first night, which is probably how they were letting these people in. It's nerve-racking when 2 girls are alone in the parking lot walking back to their room, while a group of guys are doing drugs and staring at us the whole time, seeing what room we walked into. *Noise- Walls are thin and the bedroom is by the door/hallway. You hear everything. We were very unsettled the whole time we were there. We need a vacation from our vacation. Which is very sad, because we LOVE the Destin area and go 1-2 times a year and stay in a different condo each time, according to availability. But never again will we book this condo or this building. I'm very disappointed to have paid that much for a motel 6 type of place.
