About Kerry-Lynn Moede
John & Kerry-Lynn bought the Historic Yellow House in 2012 and gutted it to the studs. They were excited to save and restore this fantastic piece of Williams rich history. John is a retired Fire Fighter/ Paramedic, Kerry-Lynn is a professional musician. Kerry-Lynn is a 4th generation Arizona native and has been happy to spearhead the project while John enjoys working as the Assistant Chief of the Williams Volunteer Fire Department.

Why Kerry-Lynn Moede chose Williams
The Historic Yellow House was owned by the same family for 93 years! Before that, it served as the bunkhouse and supervisor's office for the Saginaw & Manistee Lumber Mill. The rich history of the home and the area were fascinating. After years of watching the beautiful property fall into disrepair, we decided we had to do something. We carefully dis-assembled the entire property and saved everything historic that we could. Re-claimed wood, original floors and amazing stonework still remain. The yard continues to improve and based on historic photos will be restored soon. Artifacts and photos abound in the home. Charm and comfort of a bygone era welcome guests. A perfect 'summer cottage' in a wonderful mountain community.
What makes this House unique

Beautiful Home Right on Historic Route 66
The house is wonderfully comfortable and in a fun location. Walking to all the Route 66 restaurants and shops is 5-10 minutes. From this location, we were easily able to access the train to the Grand Canyon. The south rim of the canyon is about an hour away and Sedona is also a beautiful hour-long drive away. We had a very nice stay. The house is well stocked with just about everything you need for cooking, laundry, etc and it is very close to Safeway for groceries. We would visit again. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the review! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope you CAN return someday!
This was our second year renting this house. This is such an amazing home! So.much history and beauty! So warm and comfortable! I highly recommend this home to rent while you are in Williams! Can't wait to go back...
Thanks Sherri! So glad you joined us again... you are welcome anytime!
I really appreciate you taking such good care of the house 💕
Beautiful home inside and out
First of all, thank you Kerry-Lynn for being a gracious host. Secondly, this house was perfect for my 4-adult 4-children vacation. There was enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The three bathrooms made it easy for everyone to get ready. The kids loved being able to sit around the living room and tell ghost stories. We forgot our board games but conveniently Kerry-Lynn had some for us. It was so wonderful to go to Polar Express and the Grand Canyon trip and come home to a beautiful warm house. We made dinners and breakfasts in the gorgeous fully equipped kitchen. We had a great time. God-willing we will be returning in the future. Thank you.
I am so glad you had a lovely trip! 💕
Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful!
Our family stayed at the Historic Yellow House over the Christmas holiday this year. Everything was perfect! The home was immaculate and inviting.....oh so cozy! Our family has had a really rough past 9 months. When I walked into the home for the first time...music was playing, Christmas lights were sparkling...it all brought tears to my eyes. It was decorated for Christmas, which was really perfect. There were so many small touches with the decor that made us smile. My boys really loved finding the "Elf on the Shelf" in a few places around the home. The entire house was full of well thought out "extra touches".
Everything we needed was in the house...kitchen well stocked with nice appliances etc... The linens were top notch. Small fireplaces in the rooms. Definitely cozy. And for the history buffs out there...there are books about the history of the area and very interesting antique items in the house to look at. I loved that connection to the past.
We loved the location. Within Williams, you can walk to everything. Safeway (which has a Starbucks) is a block away and other restaurants are close. We drove to the Grand Canyon and back on Christmas Eve (just over and hour) and then to Sedona and back on Christmas Day so we were very pleased with the location. (Side note; the actual drive to Sedona is beautiful and spending time at the Grand Canyon is nothing short of amazing!)
Thank you Kerry-Lynn for the work you do to make this home so wonderful. It is a home full of love and was perfect for us this year.
Ahhh, Jennifer... you're review made me smile. I told the house you could use a little "extra" love. I'm glad she provided 😊❤
Polar Express Weekend
My two girlfriends and I came to Williams, with our kids, to do the Polar Express train and kick off our Christmas vacation. We stayed 3 nights in Kerry-Lynn's beautiful, historic home. From the moment we walked through the door, our magical experience began. The house has been restored to the period, with no detail overlooked. Kerry-Lynn had decorated it for Christmas and had the house completely stocked with everything we needed for our stay. She even had two large glass jars filled with fruit loops and peanut M&Ms. The home was meticulously cleaned, and it is apparent that Kerry-Lynn prides herself in making each guest feel welcomed and special. She texted us on the second day to make sure we had everything we needed. I have no doubt we will return to this yellow house for another stay, in the near future. Thank you, Kerry-Lynn, for providing the use of your home and attending to every detail during our stay. Our kids and us moms had a wonderful weekend we'll never forget!!
Dear Kim (and everyone else!),
I am SO glad you all had a magical time! I also enjoyed finding the elves! 😁
I hope we DO see you again in the future. . My favorite time of year in Williams is September. You should see it then! GORGEOUS.
Thank you for being so gentle with "the old girl". It is a pleasure to have guests who take care of things! ❤
Phenomenal Home - Might as Well be a Museum
This home was everything we wished for times one hundred. Immaculately clean with absolutely every last detail covered. What do you need? No worries, they thought of it. My family (2 parents and 2 adult daughters) stayed here and wanted for nothing. Perfectly laid out with downstairs bedroom and bath along with kitchen laundry dining and living area. Upstairs 3 rooms 1 with on suite bath. Another bath shared by the other two bedrooms. All had TVs and heaters. Plenty of storage closet space sitting areas. The yard was fabulous with places to hang out and a gas grill. Behind the house is a Dairy Queen which dad LOVED. The other direction was a grocery so you can stock up for your meals. You can walk a few blocks to historic 66 to find shops food etc. Easy on off freeway and about 40 min to Grand Canyon. The owner has thought of every detail and was attentive throughout our stay. The efforts put into this home clearly come from love. We so enjoyed reading through the books about the homes history. This was truly the gem of our 4600 mile road trip. We were here in the fall so temps were great. There is no ac so keep in mind for summer. It was never an issue for us. Thank you for sharing this lovely piece of history with our family.
Oh, Lisa... thank you SO MUCH for the lovely review! As much as this house means to me, it is very rewarding to have guests such as you enjoy your stay so much. You gave me a terrific pat on the back. Thank you. ☺
