Space 4,100 sq. ft.

Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

4+ Bedroom / 3 bathroom, sleeps 8 - 12 with mountain views

The Inn Between is an exceptional custom built log home on 5 private acres surrounded by the Collegiate Peaks; just a few minutes from the town of Buena Vista in the nationally renowned Arkansas River Valley of Colorado.

As you enter the cabin you are greeted with the views of Mt. Princeton through the floor to ceiling windows. Massive logs support the towering two-story living area. The main floor is roomy with a well equipped kitchen, dining room, great room, two bedrooms and bathroom. The second floor master suite has its own deck, shower, and a deep soaking tub with great window views. The ground floor is all new in 2015 and has an extra family room, bedroom and bathroom. The upstairs loft has two double futons, and a full size washer and dryer.

All rooms have incredible views and furnishings are high quality western living styles. The deck provides a gathering area after a long day of hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking, rafting, fishing, or climbing 14,000 foot mountains. The great room has a 55” smart TV and the family room has a 65" smart TV. There is Dish TV with DVR, blue ray, and Xbox. Wifi internet is provided.

In the spring of 2015 the ground floor addition was finished. This space adds a full bath with walk-in shower, theater room with 7.2 surround system, and 4th bedroom with one queen bed and a twin bunk bed. The ground floor comes with heated floors, 9 foot ceilings, and numerous windows looking south to Mount Princeton and the foothills of Mt. Yale.

The Inn Between sits on 5 acres at the base of Mount Yale. This unique location is close to town, yet in a secluded setting. At night, from the comfort of your own hot tub, the Milky Way stretches across the heavens, and if you are lucky, there will be shooting stars “raining fire in the sky”. The property has numerous Pinion and Ponderosa pine trees. Mule Deer and Elk may wander thru during your visit.

Buena Vista is the center of Arkansas River activities in the valley but also offers hours of entertainment and local interest. Shopping, dining, golf, river walks, and an engineered kayak park will keep you entertained. Try your luck at the River Park Frisbee golf course and technical climbing rocks. Adjacent to the cabin is the entrance to the Cottonwood Pass road, while the Colorado Trail passes within a mile of home.

Visitors can enjoy short drives to historic Leadville to the north and 'artsy' Salida to the south. Summer activities include hiking & biking the fourteeners, high alpine meadows and cascading rivers, whitewater rafting, fishing in the Arkansas or in the high mountain lakes with plenty of spaces to explore. During summer months, the town of Aspen makes a wonderful day trip where the trip itself over Independence Pass is part of the attraction. Winter visitors bring your snowshoes, skis, and sleds for the kids! Ski areas such as Monarch and Ski Cooper are less than 1 hour away, and Breckenridge, Vail and Summit County are about 1.5 hours away. Salida offers live theater at the Steamplant and lots of unique art galleries.

It is hard to beat this wonderful place to get away and enjoy the peace of the mountains and gaze at the stars after a great day outdoors. Sit on the deck and read in the sun, or soothe your muscles in the hot tub at the end of an adventurous day.

Buena Vista is truly a great place to visit at the base of the Collegiate Peaks Range whether it is summer or winter or Inn Between!

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The pics of this home do not do it justice! Simply can’t explain its beauty without seeing it first hand. Everything was perfect. Needed very little other than our food. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking a breeze. Planning to return to this home next year! We’ve rented from VRBO & other sites for many years, and this is by far our best find. Had the opportunity to meet the owners. They were lovely, very helpful, but not intrusive at all - were just there 5 minutes.

Amazing Romantic Get-A-Way

  • 5 of 5

The Inn Between is absolutely gorgeous. We stayed four nights in January. The weather ranged from 50°, sunny and clear too cold and 6 inches of snow. The views of Mount Princeton are overwhelming. Everything from the kitchen to the hot tub is absolutely perfect. It is secluded, yet easy to find. Perfect for couples, or entire family getaway. We will definitely be back.

Heated floors, hot tub, spacious kitchen; this was the ideal cabin for our family of five.

  • 5 of 5

Very well organized, very clean and particular. Also the owner was very good at leaving little comforts and accommodations, such as the city market barcode on a key ring next to the garage remote opener (in case people from out of town need groceries and can use the coupons), etc.

About Maureen Parsons

We are a family that has loved Colorado and the outdoors for 30 years. The picture is of us having some fun on the Midland Trail above Buena Vista - being with the ones we love in Colorado, great hike, great views, well worth the sweat. Enjoyed many years traveling the west; finally settled on Buena Vista Colorado as the perfect place for us. Buena Vista offers it all, great location, marvelous local folks, all variety of activities.

Why Maureen Parsons chose Buena Vista

This property is perfectly situated: Private, but not remote. You can see the stars without light pollution, yet is a short drive to town. The locals in this area are amazingly friendly and helpful. Never passed a person without them saying hello.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is built to very high standards. in-floor heating, high end fixtures and windows. The water is amazingly good to drink - nothing like filtered mountain water from Collegiate Peaks Wilderness. The hot tub is great, the architecture is wonderful to admire. Not obvious is the quiet that these thick logs bring when you finally turn in at night. The original owner designed and built this home with attention to views from every window.
