Treat yourself and your family to a luxury stay in Historic Williams AZ , which is the closest town to the Grand Canyon.

Our House, until December 2012, was the Firelight Bed and Breakfast, a beautiful luxurious B & B that received outstanding reviews.

All of the bedrooms has its own bathroom, each bathroom had a shower and jetted tub. Each bedroom is also equipped with a Flat Panel television, with 225 Channels on DirecTV and a DVD Player. Each of the bedrooms has either a fully functioning Fireplace or a Granite top Fireplace/Heater.

Virtually the entire house has Crown Molding at the ceiling and over the doors, and wood baseboards throughout. Mahogany wood flooring is in the much of the lower level including the Entry Foyer, Dining Room, kitchen, halls and stairs, and the upstairs foyer.

The Kids bedroom, formerly the Green Bedroom, has 2 separate bunk beds, one of which is a full/twin which can sleep 2 on the lower full bed, while the other bunk bed is a twin/twin. The room sleeps 5 on the two bunk beds, and also has its own bathroom, flat panel TV, DirecTV and a DVD player.

The kitchen is equipped and a home cook's dream. It starts a 48' Jenn Air Pro-style 6 Burner Stainless Steel Gas Range with a griddle and double oven with overhead hood, lights and fan. To prep your food, there is a 4 foot John Boos Butcher Block Table with a 4' end-grain solid American cherry top. The Refrigerator is built in with French doors and a Bottom Drawer Freezer. There is also a Beverage Refrigerator to keep your refreshments. In addition to the appliances, the kitchen comes complete with a formal dish collection, silverware, stemware, glasses, bowls, pots and pans, bake-ware, serving pieces, pitchers and food storage containers. Finally, there is a 19' TV in the kitchen.

The Dining Room has 2 leafs and is extended to 10' long and comfortable seats 10. you can dine while sitting next to the fireplace to keep you warm and toasty when it is cold outside.

There is plenty of recreation in the house. Just off the kitchen there is a Billiards Room with a 7 foot Mahogany Pool Table with a variety of pool sticks including bridge. You can watch TV on any of the 225 channels on DirecTV in the Billiards room. When you are done with Billiards, you can go up to the 3rd story loft and play Shuffleboard on a 22' shuffleboard table from the 1930s that has been meticulously restored. there is also a Large TV and a Wii that you and the rest of the family including kids can play on.

Downstairs there are 2 bedrooms including the owners quarters, is where the owners of the Bed & Breakfast lived. The Owners Quarters is about 700 sq feet. It includes a sitting area with 50' plasma and a sectional, a wet bar/sink with granite tile counter top, a king size bed with a 40' LED TV on the wall 3 feet from the foot of the bed, a luxurious master bath, with a 26' LED TV, overhead shower and jetted tub.

The Master bedroom on the 2nd Floor is approximately 650 sq. ft. and high vaulted ceilings. It has a comfortable California King Poster Bed and a Gas Fireplace to keep the room warm. There is also a vanity makeup table located between the his and hers walk in closets. The sofa pulls out to a sleeper sofa, so the room comfortably sleeps 4. The Master bathroom is right out of a decorators magazine. It shares the other side of the vaulted ceiling of the Master Bedroom and has beautiful travertine tile on the floor, in the shower and around the 2 person jetted tub. There are his and her sink vanities.

The study has an antique rolltop desk which houses a desktop computer which has a guest login that guests can use, along with a laser multi-function printer/copier.

Located in the lower level are the Entry Foyer, the living room, the study, the Billiards Room. the Kitchen and dining room and the Downstairs Bedroom (King Size Poster Bed) and Bath and Owners Quarters.

On the Second Level are four bedrooms, including the Master Bedroom, and the Gold Room (Queen Size Bed), Blue Room (King Size Bed) and Green Room (now the Kids Room with 2 sets of Bunk Beds). The Gold Bedroom has a private door to the 2nd story Balcony.

On the Third Level, there is the Shuffleboard Table, Projection TV and Wii. There is a sitting area at the North end of the loft with two Twin Mattresses that can sleep another 2 people and can be sit on and overlook the Town of Williams from the 3rd story window.

The house is family and kid friendly. We have safety gates for the stairs. We have a playpen, high chair and baby bouncer at the house. The kids room has 2 sets of bunk beds, including one full/twin, and the room sleeps five.

We appreciate that you are considering our house, and hope that you will be staying at our house. We have had wonderful guests, many of whom have reserved follow-up stays for the next year after completing their stay at our house. We do want to lay out the Terms of the Vacation Rental.

Rates will vary depending on the time of year. Rates quoted on the website are for 12 people. For each person above 12, there is a $10 per person per night fee. You will be required to complete a guest list naming all of the guests of the house. If the number of guests staying at the house exceeds the number on the guest list, that is considered a material breach of the rental agreement and will result in an immediate termination of the rental.

I very strongly recommend travel insurance.

If you cancel and it is more than 180 days prior to your stay I will refund 50% of your deposit. If you cancel less that 180 days but more than 30 days, I will refund 25% of your deposit. Cancellations of 30 days or less will result in a forfeiture of your entire deposit.

There will be no exceptions to this policy.

We do require property insurance that costs $99 and covers and protects the renters for $2,500 in damage with no deductible. The insurance, in addition to providing protection to renters eliminates security deposits.

If your reservation results in a same day turnaround (that means another party is ALREADY booked for either your arrival date and/or departure date) then you will have to pay an additional $75 for cleaning. This is due to the very narrow window of time that we have to clean the entire house – 5600 sq. ft., 6 bd and 6 baths – and do all the laundry that is necessary (bedding, and towels, etc). We only have 6 hours to complete that, so my cleaning crew has to employ an extra person to complete the cleaning.

Check in is at 5pm. We may be able to accommodate an earlier check in time, however, we will likely not know until right before your stay. In some cases we may know earlier. The reason we may not know until right before your stay is that another party may make a late reservation and want to check out the day you are checking in, and if that happens we need to have sufficient time to allow out cleaning crew to clean and do all the laundry as described in the above paragraph.

Check out is 11am. Again we may be able to accommodate a later check out, however, we will not be able to commit to that, likely, until the end of your stay. In some cases we may know earlier.

Generally we have a 4 night minimum stay. Only in the Polar Express Seasons do we have a 3 night stay. In high seasons, we have a 5 night minimum and for some holidays we have 6 night minimums. Please do not request a 2 night stay. In some cases, we will consider a shorter stay but we will have to include a charge. We will notify you of what that charge is at the time of inquiry.

About Michael

We are a family of 7. The kids range from 1 year to 18 years old. We live in Phoenix an wanted a place to get away in the Summer and enjoy the Snow in the Winter.

Michael purchased this house in 2013

Why Michael chose Williams

We are family oriented. When we get together we include the grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters and all the kids. In total we are 20+. So we wanted a property that could accommodate all of our families, and to so in a nice, comfortable and spacious house.

Up until we bought this house, we were travelers who used VRBO and Home Away to find getaway houses and cabins for our family to stay at. Some were great and other not so much. So we finally decided to get a place that was ours.

So we looked at many places north of Phoenix. After viewing several properties and then finally seeing this, we fell in love with it. It was formerly a luxury Bed and Breakfast, and had enough rooms and private baths to comfortably accommodate our entire family. The house was/is beautiful and very nicely decorated.

Great house & location for Extended Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience staying in Williams. The house was perfect for our large family vacation - we had 15 people - 11 adults and 4 kids. Every couple (5 couples) had their own bedroom and bathroom, the kids shared the bunk bed room which was perfect, and my cousin enjoyed her own space in the loft. The rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable. The open family space in this house was great - we were able to hang out together even as such a large group. The kitchen allowed us to cook breakfast each morning before our adventures and dinners some evenings as well. The dining room table was big enough to sit everyone.

The town of Williams was a quaint little town which reminded my of Radiator Springs (straight out of the Disney Cars movie). We spent one day exploring the town but really used Williams as a homebase to explore Arizona. We visited the Grand Canyon (1 hour), Wislow (1 1/2 hours), Antelope Canyon (near the Utah border - 2 1/2 hours), Phoenix (almost 3 hours), Sedona and Slide Rock State Park (1 hour). We didn't mind traveling so we would take day trips always returning to Williams. This made it easy to see so many beautiful places - which would have been very difficult to do with a group of 15 if we had to move all over the state.

Michael and Alma were great to work with - questions and/or concerns were answered in a timely manner. It was great that we could rent the laundry facilities for the week since we traveled cross country. It was an epic family trip and if we should find ourselves in Arizona again we would definitely stay at this house again.

Perfect for multiple families

  • 4 of 5

A bunch of siblings and their families met here April 4-7, 2017. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly:

The Good: A great, responsive manager to work with. It was a last minute booking with some last minute changes which were handled quickly with no problems. The house itself is very charming and well decorated, with plenty of bedrooms and places to hang out. We had everything we needed to cook meals for our large group and everyone loved the pool table, shuffleboard, and backyard firepit. Did not use the grill, but I noticed two propane tanks for that purpose. Appreciated the shampoo/conditioner/bodywash in each bathroom.

The Bad: These are suggestions on what could be done better and did not negatively impact the rating. First, the toilet paper! On the way down we used fast food bathrooms, truck stop bathrooms, even pit toilets-- and ALL of them had better toilet paper. Really a silly thing to skimp on when the title says "Luxury" :) Second, the locks on the bedrooms were awkward. I understand they are leftover from when it was a B&B but not being able to lock your bedroom door from the inside is an oversight. It's a simple job to get regular knobs and replace them. Also, we noticed there were no extra linens. If a person wanted to sleep in the loft, for example, they would have no way of changing the sheets. Or if one of the seven kids with us had some kind of accident, there were no spares. Again, an easy fix. Lastly, the kitchen had a few oddities - An absurd number of plates and skillets, but hardly any bowls, for example. And there was no water to the fridge so no filtered water and no ice.

The Ugly: The only ugly thing about this VRBO was the lack of a washer and dryer. Our family of six traveled ten days and expected to be able to do laundry at the VRBO halfway through. I understand that this was an oversight on my part for not double checking the listing and reading through all of the reviews. HOWEVER, any extended-stay hotel or VRBO where people might be expected to stay a week or more has laundry services. At the very least, it would be nice to list an address for a laundromat and provide a few coins. But it would be better to rearrange the space so that the laundry (assuming it's in the mudroom) was not off limits to guests.

1st floor: suite w/King, bedroom w/Queen, Kitchen,Living, Dining, Pool, Office

2nd floor: East-Master w/King & pullout, bunk bed room. West - 2 queen bedrooms

3rd floor: loft w/2 twins

Beautiful Williams

  • 5 of 5

Sometimes homes are over rated. This is not one of them! This home was perfect for my family of 10.....adults and two grandchildren. It was convenient to the Polar Express and Flagstaff. The billiard table and shuffleboard court kept all entertained so no missed their electronics! The large kitchen allowed us to prepare meals and be together. There is just too much to say. If you are visiting the Grand Canyon this is the place for you. Thank you Michael for sharing your beautiful home.
