This is a beautiful home in a perfect location. We often walked up to the main city just to tour and read the placards on the historic buildings. If we didn't feel like walking, the free bus was right out the door. Our grandson loved the short walk to the sledding hill at the public library.
The home itself is comfortable, with comfortable beds and furniture and equipped in every way, including some spices and foods that we found useful. I was even impressed with the kitchen knives, and that doesn't happen often.
The owner contacted us soon after we got there to make sure that everything was to our liking, and remained available to us by phone in case we had any problems.
We had only one: it was difficult to keep the house warm. The eco settings on the thermostats were in the low 60s, and they returned to those settings automatically, so that we had to turn them back up to 72 about every hour. The outside temperature was in the single digits, and we had to wear double layers of sweat suits to be comfortable in the house. We kept the gas fireplace going all day when we were in the house. I know part of that is due to the spaciousness of the house, but it was a problem.
Other than that, the vacation was wonderful; our host was most kind, and I probably would come back to this house again--when it's warmer outside.
