Welcome to our restful mountain retreat on the river (Estes Park Vacation Home Business License # 6040). Wade, sit on the rocks, or fish for wild trout in the Big Thompson River and feel your worries fade away. Eat lunch on one of the picnic tables as you admire the mountains, roast marshmallows in the fire pit, or simply relax on the large manicured lawn.
You can enjoy coffee or tea in the morning in the dining room as you watch the wildlife through 5 large windows. Or watch the wildlife from almost any of the other 30 windows in this cozy house - including the five windows surrounding the jetted tub in the master bath! End your day relaxing in one of the large recliners in the sunroom - listening to the river and the other sounds of nature. Views of the snow-capped mountains and the smell of the evergreen trees will stay with you long after you leave.
Our home is in a prime location. We are at the end of a quiet drive with a large private yard that runs down to the river. The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is only one mile away where you can enjoy the many trails, rivers, and wonderful sights the park has to offer. Shopping also is available less than one mile away with many quaint stores, restaurants, and peaceful walks along the river.

Amazing home and wonderful location
Mountain Haven was everything and more. Very close to downtown and RMNP. The home was well equipped and had wonderful beds. The large lawn was great and listening to the river when you fall asleep was relaxing.
Beautiful home! Awesome wildlife! Peaceful outdoors with scenic river! Great owners!
Perfect!! Check-in and arrival was simple. The place was really clean and well stocked. The house has the perfect location and the lot is wonderful! Literally a mile away from one of the entrances to RMNP and a short drive to Estes Park downtown and the local breweries. The very first morning we had a bull and cow elk come pay us a visit! They were just hanging out under the shade of the trees for hours! What a great way to start your Colorado vacation!! We hung out in the backyard every night next to the river with a fire going! It was a great memorable vacation that we'll cherish forever! Gail and Jim have an amazing home and are great hosts. They were really easy to work with during the rental process and have good tips, pointers and useful local phone numbers in the house. We will no doubt stay here again any time we go back to RMNP!!!!
Great location, very clean & well equipped. Couldn't ask for much more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there & would highly recommend it to others.
3 Texas couples &1 Kansas Couple
Four couples enjoy Mountain Haven On the River. This summer in Estes Park marked the 28th summer our four dear couple friends have been blessed to vacation together throughout the U.S. and points beyond. We enjoyed a great week together in the owners Jim and Gail"s mountain home. The house made us feel at home--great beds, baths, laundry and well stocked kitchen and spacious eating area. Oh, we loved the living space, especially the sunroom overlooking the yard and river!. Thank so much. 14 elk in back yard the day we arrived!
Great House & Better Location
Our extended family spent a week in the Mountain Haven house. It was fantastic. The owners were very responsive, answering all our questions quickly and even providing some "local" intel on what to do & where to go. The location of the house is excellent. Getting to RMNP was a breeze and using Riverside drive as a "backway" into downtown worked great...allowed us to avoid some of the traffic. The river in the back yard was a haven for our family - with us spending a good portion of the evenings out by the river. The yard was perfect for the 3 kids - allowing them to run around and play some catch. Inside, the owners have done a great job updating, as the house is very nice. It had everything we needed for a week's stay. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and appliances. The grill came in handy several times throughout the week. If you are looking for a house close to RMNP & downtown, this is a great option. We will be recommending it to anyone going to Estes Park and will look to rent again when we return.
My husband and I, our 2 children and my mother and father stayed in this lovely home for 5 days in June of 2016. (our 2nd time to stay in this house...first time was 5 years ago) We were so comfortable there and had the PERFECT amount of room. We went to a nearby grocery store and cooked most of our meals at the house. There were 2 grills available for us to use to cook out! One of them is out in the backyard, next to the river! The river was gorgeous...we spent several mornings and evenings in the chairs right next to it. My son and husband even fly-fished in the river! We were just a short drive to RMNP, where we were able to hike and see all the flora and fauna of the AMAZING mountains! The owners of the home are super accommodating and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. Their home is well taken care of and in impeccable condition. We made the best memories with our entire family.
