About Cindy Livingston or Emily Pitchford
I was born and raised in Egg Harbor, Door County, Wisconsin. I went to grade school in Egg Harbor (the current location of the Egg Harbor Fire Dept.) and attended junior high and high school at Gibraltar H.S. in Fish Creek, 5 minutes north of Egg Harbor. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and have been involved in a family business my entire life--the Alpine Resort and Golf Course in Egg Harbor. I have two adult sons and I live in Sturgeon Bay, about 20 minutes south of Egg Harbor. Door County has been a great place to grow up and live and I'm blessed to have the opportunity to remain here on this beautiful peninsula. I love to swim and boat and fish in the summer. And I enjoy skiing and ice fishing in the winter.

Why Cindy Livingston or Emily Pitchford chose Egg Harbor
This house is located on a property with a nice lawn area and is available for rental only from May 1 through late October. It is lovingly cared for and maintained and has beautiful woodwork and a granite fireplace. The house was built by my family and has always been in the family. My family also build two more houses like this one close by with the same floor plan. I love the spacious living area and dining room of the house. And it's location on Whitecliff Road is really great. Whitecliff Road is a quiet road that runs north along the shoreline from Egg Harbor to Juddville. It has private summer homes with lots of access to the water.
What makes this House unique
I love the airy living room and fireplace. And the screened porch facing the marina is wonderful on a warm summer day. If it gets cold in the evening, the fireplace provides great warmth. And it's easy to take a quiet walk along Whitecliff Road, walk out to the shoreline, and enjoy the view.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
It was great to be able to stroll downhill to get to the marina, shops and eateries without having to drive. Our dog did not want to stay at home and constantly wanted to head to the marina. The leafy neighborhood was fairly quiet and cool.
Small house rental
This house was exactly what we were looking for. Although it wasn’t fancy/updated, it was just what we needed. Great screened in porch area and nice fire place. Quite area with a view of the water
Charming cottage in a beautiful village
The cottage is quaint and old-fashioned, just as pictured. The kitchen could have been better equipped - we bought dish soap and a paring knife, as an example. Also, the bathroom could use some shelves or space for setting down things. But the screened porch was charming, we spent lots of time there. And Egg Harbor was our favorite of all the towns in DC (our first trip here). Also, the near-by resort where the host worked was also charming, with a beautiful porch right on the Bay. It was more like a mile from the cottage vs. the .5 mile advertised which made it just far enough away that we didn't spend much time there, although we did avail of their bicycles.
We would go back.
Great location with a good price... however a few things to desire
Great location within walking distance to downtown Egg Harbor restaurants, stores, the marina, and all of the action. Use of Apline resort and the public beach all within a mile was fantastic. Opportunities would be a less noisy air conditioning system (it was real hot the week of our trip and it was working/humming very loudly), fitted sheets that stay on the mattresses (never fun to wake up on a bare mattress that isn’t yours), and better parking on lot. For the price, I’d stay again and bring my own sheets and hope for slightly cooler weather at night time.
Convenient location with comfortable lodging.
Besides a couple of hiccups like parking and a “toilet issue”, egg harbor was great and the scenery in door county is spectacular. The folks at Alpine Resort are very nice and helpful.
Great views and location
We loved the location and views from the house. The screened in porch is awesome! It isn’t updated, which was fine for us, but half the outlets we tried didn’t seem to work, smoke detectors are electrical taking The place of valuable outlet space. Outside the grass was cut but long grass along walk ways and close to the house.
Will be willing to stay here again but would like to see reliable electrical outlets and kept up yard work.
The house is located on a quiet road that is great for walking with public access to the water every 500-1000 feet. Situated in central Egg Harbor provides a perfect vantage point for seeing and doing all that is offered on the Door County peninsula. The bay side of the peninsula is warmer than the lake side, but it's only 15 minutes across the peninsula if you choose to visit Lake Michigan.
