Elegant 6 bedroom, 7 bath ranch home surrounded by wildlife, wetlands and creek.
More than just a home, this 400 acre ranch has nearly 2 miles of a private spring fed creek. Fly fishing is a few steps from the porch, as is floating in a kayak or Stand-up paddleboard (SUP). Private and secluded but only 10 minutes to town.
Much of this working ranch is under conservation easement with the Teton Regional Land Trust. Several cold springs flow from underground to form this prime trout fishing creek. For birders there are also 7 ponds, some designed in partnership with Ducks Unlimited, which attract an array of migratory waterfowl and shorebirds.
The recently remodeled home has a beautiful and spacious great room. The wood floors are adorned with oriental rugs and knotty pine walls have original artwork. All of the 6 bedrooms have their own private bathrooms with heated floors. There is a well stocked cooks kitchen with two dishwashers, a Wolf gas cooktop, and granite countertops. The dining table seats 12, with space for 8 more at the counter.
There are over 1500 square feet of decks (Creek and Teton facing), plus piers on the creek and pond provide ample space to enjoy the spectacular mountain views while sitting around the outdoor fire. One could spend days here without ever leaving the property. There is a historic barn, a horseshoe pit, bacci balls, paddling and swimming in the cool creek. Mountain biking can be reached from pedaling from the house, or by a short drive. Enjoy walks through the expansive property, or hike in the close by Tetons and Bighole ranges. 2 major ski resorts (Jackson and Targhee) are within 45 minutes.
Caretaker lives onsite in a historic bunkhouse a few hundred yards away. Local and family member- he's a ski guide and avid mountain biker- happy to direct and help with suggestions on everything from dining to hiking. He is also a camp-cook of 17 years and can provide catering and housekeeping upon request.

About Beach Huntsman
After losing a battle with cancer in 2012, my father left this ranch for his wife and 8 children. Our family strives to protect his legacy and maintain Fox Creek as a working ranch. I am the 5th child and the caretaker/ ranch manager. My family mostly resides in Salt Lake City and often visits the ranch as a base to ski, mountain bike, hike, fish and spend family time together. We only allow 2 rentals per summer season (July-August).
Beach Huntsman purchased this Lodge in 2001
Why Beach Huntsman chose Victor
My father was raised in Utah and Idaho, a passionate sportsman throughout his life. After searching the west for the ideal fishing property, he found a cabin on the Teton River in 1986, upgrading to this ranch in 2001. Initially it was a heavily grazed cattle ranch. Since then, he and our family, with the help of dozens of grants, volunteers and local agencies, have transformed the ranch into a wildlife preserve and trout spawning mecca. The evolution has been spectacular. Nearly 2 miles of creek banks have been regraded, gravel returned to riffles, deep pools dug, and around 22,000 native trees, willows and shrubs have been planted along the newly restored creek banks. Dozens of bird species can be seen here nesting on the waterfowl ponds or in the native grasses or trees. The spring creek flows from underground and never freezes- even at minus 30 in the winter. If one desires more culture, shopping and restaurants, Victor or Driggs in a short drive away, and Jackson Hole just over the pass.
What makes this Lodge unique
The unique benefit of this property is definitely the spring creek and surrounding habitat. Fox Creek is a major spawning tributary to the Teton River. Where else can you wake-up, walk 30 feet and catch a big ole trout, or hear the gurgle of a creek while laying in bed?! You can watch the sunrise over the Tetons while cattle graze in the distance. Fox Creek Ranch offers a unique opportunity to experience Western ranch life and land conservation working together.

absolutely stunning private wildlife preserve- beautiful home
Our extended family of 12 was blown away by this ranch house. The pictures don't tell the story of the whole solitude and beauty. The rooms were beautiful, clean, nice linens and a really well stocked kitchen with seating/plates/everything for our large group. Our host Beach was very helpful, knowledgable and kind- but he also stayed away and made us feel like it was our own private ranch. We only fished a day, but you can literally hear the fish splashing from inside the house. Well stocked with SUPs and kayaks, we floated the cool creek everyday and jumped off the bridge at the end. We have stayed at many rental homes- and this property is far and above anyplace I have ever visited. Words just can't describe the amazing views and experience. We definitely hope to come back some day.
Wonderful property, location, and owner
Absolutely beautiful property just outside Victor. A short drive (about 1/2 mile down a dirt road, plus a few more miles paved) in to Victor, which is a lovely little town with everything you need but none of the overwhelming buildup of JH. The property itself is secluded and lovely. When you're on property, you feel entirely secluded--really can't hear or see any trace of the outside world, other than very rarely a car on the dirt road a few hundred feet away Just you, the river, the mountains, and wildlife (lots of chortling sand cranes in the evening; swallows throughout; the occasional morning moose) Ample parking for as many cars as you need in the 2 car garage and large driveway. Two BR/1 ba located above the garage, in the separate building, the others in the main building. The home is very well stocked--a kitchen and pantry full of supplies, plus a full range of outdoor gear including spotting scope, fly fishing, kayaks, SUPBs, etc. Fly swatters also provided, which are a must in summer. The home itself is large, airy, woody, well kept, and very comfortable. It's well thought out to handle a large group (2 dishwashers, 2 fridges, lots of dishes, lots of chairs, huge dining room table, etc), and we felt right at home with 14 adults and 2 kids. Wasn't clear to me whether there was AC, but even in the summer, we did not need it if we kept the windows open overnight to cool off and then closed them during the heat of the day. The master bedroom does get quite a lot of sun exposure, though, so is warmer than the other areas. Out back, Fox Creek runs through the property, there is a nice deck with propane grill, and a sitting area with fire pit right at the edge of the creek--perfect for dinner or smores or just watching the sunset. Young children do have to be watched around the open water, of course. The creek itself was lovely for a gentle kayak with trout available for fishing. Cell reception (at least Verizon) is very good. Beach, the owner/caretaker, lives on site in a separate house screened behind some trees and was entirely friendly, responsive, and accommodating. All in all, an absolutely wonderful experience, and we'd happily return if we had a suitably sized group and were in the area.
Wow, what a kind and thoughtful review- thank you. Our family is so happy to share our little slice of paradise with others who appreciate its beauty. I'm glad to hear you guys enjoyed your stay and found that the property had everything that you needed- thanks for leaving it so tidy. And how 'bout that eclipse! That was amazing. Hope to see you out here again some day.
A blessing this family chooses to share their home,
What an amazing sanctuary. The Huntsman family is truly sharing an incredible place with the public. The house is stocked well enough with utensils and cookware to prepare meals for an army. The beds and linens are very comfortable, especially with the windows open and a slight 42° breeze blowing in. Beach is an amazing host who truly wants his guest to relax and enjoy his family's home. He is available for help to inform you where to hike, where to bike, or where to grab a bite to eat. Moose, geese, otters, and trout greet you throughout the day and night whether you are fishing or simply paddle boarding in the "chilly" creek. Thank you for opening your home to us.
Our four generation family had one of the best vacations together ever. The house is spectacular.
The Fox Creek Ranch is one of the most beautiful properties in the Teton Valley. The views of the Teton mountains from the front porch and the meandering stream right in the back yard makes this home breathtaking. Our four generation family of 13 easily found both solace and excitement each day. Being able to use the kayaks and paddle boards and just sitting by the stream every evening with the fire pit all aglow let us spend time together laughing, reflecting and connecting like never before. We caught and released many trout on the dock and in close proximity to the house on the meandering stream. The fishermen in our family had a blast. Beach was truly a great resource and help to us and Hector the Labrador Dog was a delight. We saw a huge moose on the very first day and heard coyotes every evening. Needless to say our family had a truly memorable and wonderful time and would go back in a heart beat. Our thanks to Beach and his family for allowing us the opportunity to spend time in your family home.
Truly special and fantastic place!
Fox Creek Ranch is truly special and wonderful! An incredible location with views in every direction of the Tetons and Big Hole mountains; conserved farm and wetlands; a restored and pristine spring creek for fishing and kayak/paddle boarding; a large, comfortable and well-stocked and maintained family lodge; and, most of all, great, sincere, helpful and available hosts (Tara and Beach). A one-of-a-kind place and experience. Thanks to the family for sharing with our group of five couples.
Terrific house on its own private wildlife preserve, but convenient to local towns and Jackson, WY
Our 3 generation family stay was a great treat for all. The home is beautiful and furnished with all the conveniences you could ask for. The property is truly spectacular--with its own trout stream and ponds, plus views of mountains front and back. The stream is also available for kayaking/paddle boarding (with equipment provided), and wading if you like cool water. The property is very private, but only an short drive from two towns for shopping and restaurants. Jackson and Grand Teton NP and their large number of activities are only about 40 minutes away.
Beach and Tara, the property managers, are in a separate house on-site. They were extremely helpful and guided by your interest in how visible you want them.
Clearly a five-star property for those who love nature.
Our ranch is in beautiful Teton Valley, Idaho. Very secluded but only 5 miles from Victor, Idaho, 45 minutes (29 miles) to Jackson Hole and about 100 miles to Yellowstone. Located in rural farming and ranching country. This is so much more than just a house- it's part working ranch and part wildlife preserve. 2 miles of spring creek flow within its boundaries.
2 major summer/winter ski resorts are within 45 minutes, Jackson and Grand Targhee. Fishing and floating is off the back porch. Horseback riding, hiking and excellent mountain bike trails are minutes away.
