About Simona

For years I have worked in rental business on St. Maarten. I always enjoyed meeting people and assisting them to find their perfect rental property. But I was not very happy how most of the properties well maintained. For that reason I took over few properties on my own, like this apartment, and turned it to what I believe is the perfect rental place.

Why Simona chose Simpson Bay

There are many beaches on the island however there are very few that are over a mile long and this white and beautiful. I like the fact that I can walk from one end to the next, take a dip, stop in one of the 3 bars/restaurants that are on the way to get a refreshment and continue to have fun without driving anywhere. I also like to play volleyball by one of the restaurants. I can take a ride on jet ski, or go kayaking, snorkeling or swimming. It offers many options. And if I do not want to do anything I can just sit and watch the boats on the water or how they pass through the bridge. It is a never boring view. That is what I like about this place and its location.

What makes this apartment unique

This 2 bedroom unit is a perfect romantic getaway. The terrace is so beautiful and large that many guests mentioned that they would not mind living only there.

The view from it, over the entire Simpson Bay Beach and the Bay, is amazing, and never boring. I could sit there for hours and watch how the sun is reflected on the water and how it is forever changing.

The kitchen is high-end, black & white, spacious, with black marble countertops and very well equipped. You will find here all that you will need including things like coffee maker, espresso machine, blender, toaster, all pots and pans, bowls.....like in your own home kitchen.

- breakfast at French bakeries (we have amazing bakeries here)

Extremely good!!

We booked this trip and were informed by Ubbo - despite our concerns about the aftermath of Irma_ that everything was perfectly in order.

And indeed, the apartment was gorgeous and in pristine condition! In Simpson Bay most of our favorite restaurants were open .

Everybody friendly and positive as always.

We definitely will be back in January as scheduled!!!

Such a special experience

We have been coming to St. Martin for the past 14 years and this time we brought the whole family with us. We rented both the penthouse and the 2 bedroom unit at the same time. These properties were everything that it says it is. Maybe even more. Both units were tastefully designed and very well equipped. There were pantry items, drinks, alcohol, organic lotions, real tea tree hand soap, bug spray, sun tanning spray, q-tips, hair dryers and the list goes on. I never rented a place that would be so well equipped as these two units. Other thing I really appreciated was how clean and new everything was. But my absolute favorite part was the terrace. It has a roof on top so even if it is too hot to be on the beach the terrace is nice and cool. We had our breakfasts and dinners there and it was pretty special. We also loved the location. We walked to the french bakery every morning for fresh pastry and for lunch to one of the beach restaurants. Simona was very kind and helped us with any question we had. It was really everything we could ask for. We would love to do that again!

Feels like home!

This was our third time staying at Le Papillon. We have stayed in 1,2,and 3 bedroom units at various times with friends and family. Simona is wonderful to work with! She is easy to reach either by phone or email and she takes care of every little detail. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit this week and it has all the comforts of home along with some nice surprises. Thank you Simona for making our stay so enjoyable!

Fabulous stay in Le Papillon

This wasn't our first stay in Le Papillon, but it was the first time in this apartment. We stayed previously in the penthouse, but that was booked for the period of our stay. Simona assured us that we wouldn't be disappointed with this 2-bed apartment. She was right. Previously, this was the other penthouse - a four bed, which has been re-arranged. The top floor has a long let and the third floor a rentable 2 bed.

Everything in the apartment was new from the kitchen appliances (all top quality Bosch) to the living room furniture. The living area is large and spacious and very comfortable. We, however didn't spend our time in there - the terrace is very big and beautifully fitted. There is a newly constructed roof over the terrace to shelter you from the hot sun ( and occasional rain), but there is also a small area which is open to the sun and 2 sun loungers. From the terrace you look right onto the beautiful beach with sand of the palest yellow (no rocks in front of Le Papillon) and the ever changing colours of blues and turquoise. There is a private outdoor staircase if you want to come straight up to the apartment from the beach.

The 2 bedrooms/bathrooms were large and comfortable with huge beds. The air conditioning was very effective yet quiet and there were ceiling fans as an alternative.

There is a small corner shop within a minute's walk, a French patisserie which we visited every morning for fresh pastries and then The Market Garden on the other side of the old bridge for any and everything you might need to eat in. There is also a huge Carrefour on the other side of the new bridge.

We didn't rent a car for the most of our stay as everything is close enough - restaurants, pharmacy, bank and as mentioned supermarket. We did have a car for a couple of days to drive around the island and see places we hadn't visited before.

We would recommend Tropicana at the lagoon Marina in Marigot - an excellent restaurant. Best to reserve a table as it is always busy.

Simona is lovely and always quick to respond to any questions you might have.

We would highly recommend this apartment for location, comfort, amenities and the wow factor and hope to return very soon.
