If we were to rent a mountain home again, we would rent this one!

We spent six great days in this well-equipped, well laid-out home. We were six adults and three grandchildren (ages 10 - 13), and there was plenty of space for all of us. There was lots to do - the hot tub and pool table were the biggest hits, as were the video games provided. The beds were comfortable, the location close to everything including a grocery store, and the view from the decks spectacular. We spent every morning having coffee out there and every evening watching the sunsets. The kids had a place to be away from the adults, and the bedrooms offered lots of privacy. The washer and dryer were great and used often! We also appreciated all the phone charging stations provided.

We did encounter a few of the issues mentioned in previous reviews - the carpet was still stained and looked dirty, we did have spider webs in one of the bathrooms, and there could have been more places to hang towels.

The owners were very helpful and answered any questions we had both before we got to the home and after.

We had a really great time and appreciate the opportunity to stay in such a wonderful home.

We loved the cabin overall but the bathrooms could use one or two extra towel hangers

50 th. Wedding Anniversity , Trip with Kids, and Grand kids

Hats off to Dave and Karen, Completely wonderful Cabin with ALL the trimmings, we had 6 adults and 4 teenagers, two levels were ideal ,everyone enjoyed the amenities, all slept great, eating together was a blast as well as table games together.Morning coffee on the deck with great views was enjoyed by the adults while kids slept in.We ventured out days but the cabin provided the perfect relaxation station for all. We would do it again in a minute

Housekeeping: spider webs over and above front door. Door code was incorrect (cleaning people were still there when we arrive and He reset it to correct code.)

Will recomend to anyone without any reservation.

Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time staying at the Closer to Home cabin in Gatlinburg! There were 11 of us staying in the cabin and it was a perfect set up with adults on the main floor and kids on the bottom floor! The cabin was very specious and clean! The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. We all got great sleep while we were there. It was very close to downtown Gatlinburg and a short drive to most everything we wanted to do. There was so much to do in Gatlinburg compared to some other mountain vacations we had previously been on. The roads in Tennessee were a little curvy for us Floridians but we got use to it after a few days. We would highly recommend the Closer to Home Cabin!

The view was awesome!!!

  • 4 of 5

If I was going to be picky I would say that the carpet was stained and or dirty in several places. The upper deck needs attention with several boards warped badly and many nail heads sticking up. There was also several large cob webs hanging o. The walls aand ceiling. Overall it was a great experience.

Owner's Response: Hi Mel, Thanks for making me aware of the issues. We will take care of the cob-webs, repair the board on the deck, and have the carpets dried-cleaned. David

Great property & great location.

  • 5 of 5

We had our 2 kids with their families (7 grandkids) and had plenty of room. It's ideal for a big family gathering or any other large group. It was so convenient to anything you would want to see & do in this area.
