Why Patty Stanton chose Helen

Helen was the perfect place to chose to buy a vacation home. The seclusion of our property provides the quiet solitude for relaxing and disconnecting from a hectic schedule. But when I feel like getting out, there's always activities and events going on in Helen and some of the most gorgeous scenery to take in during a mountain drive. Waterfalls, views, covered bridges, State Parks, gorges, etc.

What makes this cabin unique

This Cabin Feels Very Private With The Forest Just Feet Away, Yet, Its Only A Few Minutes To Helen.

Its Rustic Meets Potterybarn And In A Great Location.

Watch For Deer Bounding Across The Driveway And Bear Cubs Playing In The Forest.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The Bear Affair is absolutely beautiful. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our experience there. I give the architecture, decor and comforts a 10 out of 10. The wood burning fire place was a lot of fun for me. I really enjoy collecting wood and making camp fires. The jacuzzi was very comfortable and relaxing as was the king size bed. I highly recommend renting this cabin if you are going to be in the Helen area.

Perfect getaway location for our family.

  • 5 of 5

We loved the decor. It was clean and affordable for our small family to go. We can’t wait to return in warmer weather. The location was perfect and central to so many attractions in area. We thought the attention to detail in the accommodations for their guests was nice. Enough space to be able to cook and feel comfortable relaxing in between venturing out. We loved how secluded it was. Water pressure wasn’t great but just want others aware in case they have longer hair. Pretty impossible to wash. Great hot water though. We loved making fires in the indoor fireplace. . Overall an awesome experience.

Charming, relaxing and well equipped!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great time at the Bear Affair. It was the perfect spot for a quick getaway. The cabin could not have been cuter and more well furnished. The attention to detail was spot on and definitely made the trip that much better. Thank you!

A warm and cozy weekend in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I celebrated her birthday by escaping the city hustle and bustle and staying at A Bear Affair. We love to hike to waterfalls and enjoy the beautiful north Georgia outdoors in our spare time, and that was originally my idea when I planned our stay, however it rained the ENTIRETY of our trip Helen!

That's where this cabin saved the birthday weekend. From the moment we walked in the door I knew this little gem would be the perfect place to spend our time.

Everything is intricately decorated with a, you guessed it, bear theme. Not a "creepy, weird, gaudy animal things everywhere" kind of theme, but more of an "OMG babe look! Even the light switch has the cutest little baby bear on it!" theme. The space is filled with beautiful wood with a highlight of stonework around the wood-burning fireplace.

Although the cabin is small, it feels like a very large space for 2 people. The super comfy king bed is upstairs in the good sized loft (we slept incredibly well in the bed with the beautiful sound of rain on the metal roof, it was quite relaxing!). The kitchen has everything you need to enjoy anything from a quick to a luxurious meal. The living room has TV, wi-fi, games, soft blankets, etc. and an awesome fireplace (bring firewood).

Our favorite part of our stay was using the covered patio extensively. While it rained all weekend, we were able to enjoy our coffee outside on the most comfortable outdoor rockers ever. There is essentially an outdoor living room next to the very large hot tub and its all covered by the roof with accent string lighting at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at A Bear Affair and highly recommend this cabin for couples looking for a cozy retreat. Although this property is at the back end of the "neighborhood" of cabins and quite private, there is a road that runs about 400-500 feet away, so the occasional sound of cars passing is audible but was never a disturbance to either of us. This place is roughly 10 minutes from downtown Helen, and an easy drive! We will be back!
