Studio, Perfect Getaway For Two, Close to Beach Parks & Town

Here is a little gem, set in the charming and historical Hilo beach neighborhood of Keaukaha, that feels like the old Hawaii. Studio bedroom with full bath and private lanai. Property is across the street from the ocean. Cozy room with comfy queen bed, HDTV, full HD cable with on demand viewing and free high speed WiFi internet. Kitchenette includes small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Clean, relaxing, and affordable.

Originally built as an artist studio, the 'Ohana is separate from the main house. It's very private, with lots of windows, all facing the rain forest.

• Beautiful rainforest/garden setting and views. It feels like you are in a tree house

It is a bit rustic, but with a great bed, HDTV and free WiFi, it feels like luxury camping. Coqui frogs will sing you to sleep each night.

Just a short walk to the ocean. There are beach parks within 5 minutes of this property including Carlsmith Beach Park, Leleiwi Beach Park and the popular Richardson's Beach Park with black sand.

Hilo Town is home to one of the best Farmer's Markets in Hawai'i and some of the best restaurants around. Yummy dining options, shopping, gateway to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, orchid orchards, waterfalls, rainforest, golf, zip lining, hiking, and more. We are happy to share our knowledge about where to go and what to do while on the Big Island.

What makes this studio unique

This home was built in 1938 by Cathy's grandparents. The 'Ohana was originally built as an artists studio. The studio is part of a one acre property with extensive beautiful landscaping including fruit trees, tropical plants and flowers.

This bungalow is located in a lush garden and is a true Hilo experience! The location has easy beach access and is perfect for exploring all that traditional Hawaii has to offer! Restaurants, retail resources and the iconic attractions of the island are easy motoring from this charming piece of romance!

perfect little hideaway near the beach

This little cottage has everything you need and is surrounded by the most beautiful tropical flora and fauna. The grounds of the owner's property is just quintessential Hawaii. We only stayed a few nights, but it was just what we needed and of course, it's also close the best beach for swimming and snorkeling in the area...Richardsons Beach. This place is just across the street from the shoreline as well and there is also access to it right across the street. Everything inside the cottage was clean and comfortable including the bed and it is tastefully decorated. The owner's provide snorkel gear/boogie board/etc. Also, the location is very close to the airport which makes it easy when you arrive and depart. And...the close proximity to Hilo town is also ideal. Excellent place to stay if you visit Hilo and also great value.

A great place to hang in Hilo

Very clean, convenient, and private. Easy access and parking to a little cottage amid dense foliage. Very near, walking distance to a couple of beached. Would definitely rent again if I'm back in the area.

Great Location

My husband and I were vendors at the Merry Monarch Hula competition in Hilo Hawaii.

This little cottage was perfect for us because of the location. It was just minutes from everything, yet tucked away for privacy and a great rest. Owners were very helpful.

Enjoyed our stay very much.
