The resort was absolutely beautiful. Beach was awesome. Our unit was very nice on the inside, however, we were very disappointed in our unit’s location. We overlooked the parking, trash and recycling area. Very noisy with the recycling of bottles especially.
Sorry that you feel noisy . You do have some ocean view on the left side of the lanai. I will let the resort manager know about the noise control. Thank you for the review.
Good value on the island
My husband, two year old daughter and I stayed here during our recent 10 day trip. We chose this location for its proximity to the airport, accessibility to both the north shore- whole thing about 20-45 min away and the south/west portion of the island- 30 min to Poipu, and about one hour to Waimea. The resort has toddler friendly swimming pools with communal toys and the beach is clean.
Of course the price was a large factor as well. In deciding if this place is right for you, you should know a little bit about what kind of traveler you are. We were up and out the hotel by 630 am and gone until early afternoon when either we would take a short rest or were looking for some pool time. Then we would leave again until we were typically carrying our sleeping daughter to bed. That being said if you are looking for an amazing room with a glorious ocean view etc this won't provide you with that luxury feel. The resort overall does have an upscale family friendly feel. We were most interested in using our money for experiences and food. We were able to feed the fish, read the newspapers in the lobby and enjoy the valet service. Never felt second rate.
What we did have was a clean room with comfortable bedding (double beds). We were able to use the lanai a few times, you can absolutely see the ocean but at an angle. It didn't bother us to be facing the employee parking lot and once during our stay the garbage was collected early in the AM, again we were already up so not a nuisance.
In the room we had a chair and desk, microwave, coffee pot (bring your own coffee or buy some at the coffee plantation and reusable mug) filters, and tiny refrigerator- perfect for leftovers and a few snack items. The room stayed really dark with good shutters which I appreciated for sleep.
As far as the condition of things a few broader concepts, if this is your first time to Hawaii note that the motto 'if it's not broke don't fix it' will apply heavily to all the islands. It costs a lot to transport items to the island so many things are 'outdated'. Specifically to the room, the dresser has seen better days a strap on the luggage holder was broken but was still usable and a door on the dresser wouldn't close without a rubber band. We were careful with our towel use, had enough TP and appreciated knowing no one was going to come in our room (no housekeeping). Bottom line with the appropriate preparation and mindset you can have a resort vacation at a motel price.
Great place for the money.
Great pools, friendly staff, right on the beach. Sliding door barely opens, beds are small
Decent value for the money
The property is centrally located and easy to find. The pools and grounds are lovely.
located in a great resort Kauai Beach Resort
The property was fine for the value. Partial ocean view. The beds were double. You absolutely positively need a car rental. It is off the highway and three miles to the airport. Rent it from the airport or online before you arrive it will be much cheaper. Although Kauai Beach resort does offer free airport shuttles they will NOT take you because it is a VRBO. You have to take a cab (12 bucks) or have a rental car.
The owner could improve a bit by having coffee mugs instead of paper cups that were done after one use. And running out of toilet paper seems to be a theme. Resort staff were very nice and helpful.
I apologize in regards to the toilet paper incident. If I was advised of this issue immediately I would have provided more amenities. Thank you.
It was nice, very tropical and clean. Super happy with the location, made it easy to explore the island.
