About the property

Tropical Covered Patio & Parking_Fish Pond_2 Outdoor Grills & a Shower-Sleeps 8

You found it! A large 1,100 square foot, two bedroom, nicely upgraded beachside vacation rental that can sleep up to 8 guests and is fully stocked. The Beach Lane Hale (pronounced 'Ha-Lay') is a perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful beach and visit Oahu's attractions. It's located on the southern border of Laie near the North Shore so the waves don't get so big that you can't swim which sometimes happens on the North Shore.

The two bedrooms are air conditioned and both have comfortable king-size beds and HD TV's. Two full size futon couches in the living room make room for four more guests or children.

The very large kitchen is a wonderful place to prepare meals or barbecue outside and enjoy the large covered lanai and fully-fenced yard with fish pond. A dishwasher makes clean up easy.

Walk a few houses to the end of the lane and you'll find a path right to the beach (this is a legal access about 100 yards from the house). This is a pristine, uncrowded, sandy, almost a mile long stretch of beach. The beach park with restrooms and showers are close making spending hours at the beach a breeze. Nearby are shopping centers, restaurants, the LDS Temple, Polynesian Cultural Center and BYU. Kualoa Ranch, where several movies and tv shows have been filmed, including Mighty Joe Young, Jurassic Park, Wind Talkers and Lost amongst others is 15 minutes away and offers horseback riding, ATV tours and other fun. World-famous North Shore surf spots are just 20 minutes away.

Keeping in touch with others through the Free High Speed WiFi is a must for modern travelers. Covered parking and laundry is included as well.

So come, enjoy the relaxed living away from the crowds of Waikiki at the Beach Lane Hale rental like my family does.

About Greg

I moved to Oahu at a very early age when my parents decided to move to Hawaii from the mainland. I grew up here, met my wife here and now raising my two children here. College on the mainland was ok and opened my eyes to new experiences but Hawaii was home and I moved back and eventually wanted to raise my children where I grew up here on Oahu. So let me help you enjoy your stay here. I live close by and I'm always available to offer tips on Oahu's attractions, advice and recommendations when asked.

Greg purchased this house in 2003

Why Greg chose North Shore Oahu

I choose this location because of the proximity to a beautiful beach. It's a minute walk away, with restrooms and showers at the beach park close by.

What makes this house unique

We enjoy the beach...obviously but also enjoy the 'country' side of the island. Away from the hustle and bustle, there is a grocery store and restaurants within walking distance which is great.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Good location, comfortable place to stay, wonderful access to Laie & BYU Hawaii, Laie Temple & Polynesian Cultural Center. The beach is so wonderful & access is so easy. We would recommend this to anyone. The mountains are also fantastic & the flowers.

Comfortable, well stocked house very close to the beach

  • 5 of 5

We had no problem finding the location, Gary was quick to respond when we had trouble getting into the house and we had a great time! The house is well stocked with a large kitchen that has everything you need to make breakfast/lunch/dinner and snacks for the beach! The beach is just a minute walk down the road. We bbq'd as well using the nice large grill in the yard and ate on the patio which had plenty of room for all 6 of us. The yard was beautiful and well maintained, the inside of the house was clean, the bathroom was big and there is an outdoor shower that we loved. It also made it easier to get ready (we were there for a wedding) because not everyone had to shower in the one bathroom. The air conditioning in the bedrooms worked very well (too well - we ended up turning it off because we got so cold!) and the fans kept the kitchen and living room nice and cool as well. There was a cooler and boogie boards and other beach supplies but unfortunately the beach chair was ripped. Everything else was in good condition. There are even books in one of the bedrooms if you want to relax and read by the water or in the yard. The fridge was big and clean but doesn't have an ice maker, so we just got a big bag of ice from Foodland right down the road. Our only issue was with gardeners coming at 8 am when we were hoping to sleep in, but they said they only come once every two weeks so that was just bad timing for us. We would definitely stay here again, it was a great location and Gary was very easy to get in touch with and quick at responding to any questions we had. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us! :)

Excellent location for North Shore activities! Perfect size for a family of 7!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here and having access to the quiet private beach whenever we needed a little ocean time! The location was perfect as we wanted to experience the North Shore at our own pace. The beach house had all the amenities that we needed. We loved having a BBQ grill so we could grill at night and not heat up the house. The kitchen was well equipped with things we needed as well to cook indoors. There was enough beds/bedding for our family of seven. The beach towels and boogie boards were an awesome perk so we didn't have to bring everything from home. If you want to be close to the PCC, BYU Hawaii, the Laie LDS Temple, Sunset Beach, Pipeline Beach, and Waimea Beach, then this is the place for you! Greg is also very helpful with check-in and check-out and with places to visit. Mahalo for a wonderful vacation!

Review from Molokai family

  • 4 of 5

My family really loved the property over all because it was a local style home with the picnic table outside for eating and entertaining. The yard was the perfect setting for our kanikapila session of playing ukulele, singing le'oki'eki'e and dancing hula. Also, yard had a nice background for picture taking. We totally loved the huge kitchen, the fenced yard and the short walk to the beach and the 10 second drive to Papa Ole where they serve local kine grinds. The 2 full size futons in the living room and extra fold out portable futon was perfect to sleep all 7 of us. It was a luxury to have tvs in all the rooms and the A/C in the bedrooms although the one in the back bedroom was loud. We couldn't get the tv in the back bedroom to work (no signal) but it wasn't a big thing and Greg the owner gave instructions but we had other things to do. There wasn't a rice cooker and I am sure if I asked Greg, he would have helped but lucky us locals can cook rice on the stove. A big plus was the washer and dryer and outside shower. For what this property offered, I feel it was really affordable plus it had a lot of things people would need like coolers, beach mats, spices, board games which my kids enjoyed, and fish food for the fish in the pond in the yard, an added touch to the lanscape. The reason I gave it a 4 star was that the bedrooms lacked light except for a small lamp. The living room was a little small and hot since no A/C in the living room where everyone congregates. Nice big bathroom but could have used a second one for our family of 7. The garage was short. We had a Lincoln Navigator and it just barely fit into the garage and we still could not close the gate. We tried to get as close to the left side as instructed and ended up dinging our cardoor on the cement pillar. The other reasons I gave it a four star was that there was no street sign or home address on the property or the name "Beach Lane Hale" anywhere. We had a hard time finding or making sure it was the right house and was hesitant to just open the gate and walk around house to find the key box but ended up having to do that. Also, the house is next to the highway which was always busy and hard to talk over it or hear your converation, Once we got settled, we enjoyed. The owner, Greg, communicated well.

Great place to stay! Sweet kitchen, very accommodating. Near very nice quiet beach. Near main road that can be noisy, but not a problem for us.
