Pine Island Paradise Condo
Beautiful 2 bedroom 2.5 bath townhouse in Bocilla Island Club, a boutique-style townhouse condo complex in Bokeelia, Pine Island on Florida's Gulf Coast. Bocilla Island Club is set within lush tropical gardens surrounded by the waters of Jug Creek and Charlotte Harbor. There is plenty of room in the large covered parking area under the townhouse for your kayaks (Bokeelia is on the Great Calusa Blueway paddling trail) or trailered boat (easy access to Boca Grande Pass, Cayo Costa, and the other islands of Pine Island Sound). The complex has two large heated pools that are rarely crowded, two poolside clubhouses, two tennis courts, and a boardwalk and screened gazebo along the waterfront. There is a 400 foot private pier jutting into Charlotte Harbor for fishing, or watching the dolphins cruise by, or just taking in the heart-stopping Bokeelia sunrises and sunsets.
The townhouse is tastefully decorated in coastal style with plantation shutters throughout. Downstairs is a large living and dining area with sliding glass pocket doors out to the screened lanai overlooking the lush gardens and coconut palms. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there is a powder room and laundry room off the entrance area. Upstairs is a master bedroom (king bed) and a guest bedroom (two twin beds), both with ensuites.
Pine Island has no high rises or traffic lights. Ospreys and pelicans wheel overhead, and wildlife is everywhere. Recreational fishing is some of the best in North America. Depending on the time of year, the local waters abound in tarpon, grouper, snook, redfish, sheepshead, mullet, and numerous other species. Fishing is fun right off the condo pier. If you bring your own boat, there is an onsite marina with fuel, bait, a ship's store, and a boat ramp. Power boats can be rented at nearby Four Winds marina or the Freedom Boat Club. Kayaks are also available for rent locally for fishing and exploring the mangrove lagoons and small sandy beaches in Bokeelia accessible only by water. Explore the several conservation areas and nature trails on the island. There is a 17 mile paved bicycle path (with no hills!) running the length of the island, and bike rentals are available. Pine Island has restaurants serving local seafood, laid back waterfront bars, a vibrant local music scene, crafts shops, and art galleries. Discover the history of the Calusa Indians and their unique shell-based culture at the Randall Research Center museum in Pineland. Big city shopping including outlet malls and a mega flea market are available in nearby Fort Myers. For golfers, Alden Pines is the island's 18 hole golf course (with its resident alligator), and there are 5 or 6 other courses within a half hour drive. And if you want to spend the day on a 7 mile uncrowded white sand beach with some of the best shelling in North America, the Tropic Star ferry to Cayo Costa Island State Park leaves from Bokeelia every morning.
