This is a hidden gem of a one bedroom apartment just a few steps from the heart of the legendary Rue Cler pedestrian street made famous by its fresh food shops and Bistros. Here you are midway between the Invalides Museum (where Napoleon I is buried), the Quai Branly Museum for indigenous art and the Champs de Mars park with the Eiffel Tower. This is a high value residential district that is home to many diplomats, French government administrators, and academics from the nearby American University. It has easy access to transportation with the Ecole Militaire metro station and bus lines 69, 80, 28, and 92.
This secret spot is a one bedroom apartment on the street level (with handicapped access). The furnishings are classic antiques with brocante pieces. The main room has an unusual sofa with a pull out section underneath that will configure the sofa into two single beds that can be combined into a double. The decor is a mix of eclectic individual pieces that range from the restoration period to the 1930s. There is the sofa w/bed backed by a hanging tapestry, a small drop leaf table used as a coffee table, a few antique chairs, a major decorative cabinet from the period after Napoleon (the restoration period) when they tried to restore the monarchy, and a large upright wooden cabinet in a corner that has the flat screen TV set with DVD player in the top portion and the portable Air Conditioner in the bottom portion. The equipment includes a flat screen TV with English channels, high speed Internet with Wi-Fi, small Stereo system, and telephone with free calls to the US and Australia.
In one corner of the main room there a small kitchen that is fully equipped as for a chef with every imaginable utensil and pot as well as a refrigerator, a full conventional electric oven with a rotisserie, a four element electric cook-top, a microwave, and a good quality clothes washer/dryer machine.
The bedroom has a Queen size bed, dresser, a headboard with built-in lighting and lots of books, a large armoire, and a small desk and office chair where you can sit comfortably to use your computer.
The bathroom has a full size bathtub with wall shower, a basin, and toilet. The apartment is handicapped accessible as there is only one modest step from the sidewalk level to the building interior and to the apartment.
The apartment was perfect for my granddaughter and I on our first trip to Paris. Well appointed kitchen and bathroom. The owner made sure we were greeted, understood all the amenities, and knew he was available at any time. Very comfortable to come back to after a day of sight seeing. It was so convenient to shops, restaurants, groceries and metro. Along with all the wonderful sights, I felt it made our experience very "Parisian." I would love to be able to come back and stay here again
We have rented this flat numerous times over the past twelve years and keep coming back! The flat is well appointed and the owners continually update the furnishings. The location is great, ground floor just steps away from rue Cler, a wonderful pedestrian street. High speed internet and free calls to USA are a definite plus.
Great apartment with classic furniture and well-matched, stylish decor. Very well priced considering the arrondissement, furnishings and general quality of the apartment. The kitchen and media are all perfect, not that you will be using them much at all! Excellent area for enjoying classic French cuisine and all sorts of tourist spots were easily accessible by foot, bike or public transport. It really was the Paris experience we'd been hoping for.
I spent a week here in January when I escorted my nephew to Paris for his junior semester. It is one of the best equipped rentals I've experienced. All the comforts of home, including AC converters! All appliances worked, the kitchen had everything I might need for cooking, and the bed and linens were extremely comfortable. Best of all, it is a cozy and elegant hideaway. When I didn't feel like being outside I was happy to hang out in this charming apartment. It's obvious that someone took a great deal of care furnishing the place. I plan on returning again soon.
We have rented this apartment twenty times now and it gets better each time! The location, near rue Cler, is perfect. Close to the Eiffel Tower and the neighborhood is wonderful. The accommodations are very comfortable and the apartment is well equipped.
My work as a journalist took me overseas a few months ago, and I took my husband along for the week-long assignment. We had never been to Paris before, so this was the chance to experience a culture we've been longing to explore. My employer booked Paris Arrondissement 7 for our stay, and I can't honestly think of better living arrangements for our time in the city.
The apartment house is located right in the heart of the action, just a mere stone's throw from Rue Cler and all of its wonderful delights. We were treated to a wonderful view, a bright and sunny apartment space and all of the amenities we could think of. Everything but the food was provided for us, and we did not want for a single accommodation the entire trip. The kitchen is fully functioning, the bedroom was beautifully appointed and super cozy and the entire apartment was decorated in such a manner that made it really feel like we could call it home.
The artwork on the walls was rich and I believe there were even a few antiques scattered throughout the apartment, which was a welcome (and pleasant) surprise, especially in a rental. We had wi-fi, a TV and DVD player, a washer and dryer right there in the apartment - which was extremely convenient - and the ability to walk out and go shopping or grab a bite to eat without having to find transportation. Everything we could have ever wanted was right at our fingertips, and it was a sad time when we had to leave.
This is definitely the place to stay if you're going to be in Paris for longer than a few nights. It's truly a magical place that feels just like home, and I'm thrilled we had the opportunity to try it out.
