Attention to personal need

  • 5 of 5

We got there late and asked Chris to pick us up cereal for the kids, and she did one better and had bread, bananas, juice, milk and cereal. We loved the space even though there is no privacy!!! The kids slept in the cubbies and nooks and loved it!! We played an epic game of hide and seek, sat in the hot tub, on the swing, enjoyed the closeness to rmnp, we enjoyed the large table for meals, and the list goes on and on!! We had a few minor issues, but didn't mind a bit because the hospitality is so great!! We left one of the kids' stuffies and they even sent it back! We truly enjoyed the view and our entire stay! Thank you!!

The most beautiful views and cozy home

  • 5 of 5

We took our family of 5 here for a Christmas vacation. We have three young adult boys. We are a blended family and we really enjoyed spending quality time together with no interruptions during Christmas time. We went skiing in Nederland and really enjoyed it. Hiked in the park and snowshoed. Had tons of deer around the cabin all of the time. The lady who kept up with the place was awesome! She texted us and stayed in touch with us from arrival until we left. Would recommend having an all-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive during the winter months. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Beautiful home!!

Nice view and location, but not for everyone

  • 3 of 5

The location of the property lends itself to a beautiful view. It is very peaceful and quiet. The house overall is big and spacious with a high ceiling on the main floor, but depending upon your guests and their needs, be aware it may not be for you.

The spiral staircases are unique going upstairs to the open loft, and downstairs to the basement, but are tight and not real conducive for carrying luggage or for elderly navigating them. Also, the openness of the facility, including high ceilings and having only one room with a door of

any kind offers little privacy. The one and only bathroom on the main floor is in the master bedroom, so any guest needing to use the " facilities " has to go through the master bedroom, which again limits privacy for those in that bedroom, and those using the facilities.

I was also surprised there was no provisions for recycling at the house, and were told there wasn't. Colorado is a beautiful place, and you would think conservation and recycling would be an utmost priority in keeping the asthetics pristine. I will say that Estes Park was no better, and while attending a local weekend festival, found the town woefully prepared in their efforts to collect trash from visitors or recycle. Trash cans were very few and far between with the number of attendees around the downtown area, and no recycling cans to be seen.

Overall, the house is, in my opinion, best suited for guests who do not require intimacy, unless you have a very limited number of guests, do NOT have limitations in mobility, and are prepared to drive to go anywhere in town. The location is not conducive to accessing town by foot.

Owner's Response: I am sorry this guest felt this way but as you can tell by some of the details, you can't please everyone! First of all, when we open up our home to share, it is very disappointing to have someone rate the property this low due to the reasons mentioned without providing all of the details. 1) This guest inadvertantly left off that they have 4 children attending making the TOTAL 12 ,not 8. I agreed to the exception since was already booked. 2) It is listed with 3 king size beds and a futon and very precisely lays out how the house is situated. It has a separate parking area and door to the downstairs room. On the main floor with the master bedroom you walk right in without ANY steps so stating that it is not accessible is not fair!! The upstairs loft would be difficult with the spiral staircase or if elderly but unless you have all guests that are elderly or limited mobility, then would be fine for all others. 3) re: Openess, yes, that is a limitation as well as bathroom on main floor being in Master bedroom but is not fair to rate a 3/5?? 4) the concern that is not within walking distance to town is correct but is never mentioned in the listing so once again, not fair to rate this poorly when guest didn't read details! 5) the majority of the review (complaints) above were due to recycling!! and of the festival and town? Please write a complaint to the City of Estes and rate THAT poorly for not having enough trash cans or recycling. The listing never stated that we have recycling bins so if that much an issue, please next time choose a house that does as YOU will not be welcome at ours again! We (myself and our housekeeper/concierge) spend large amounts of time ensuring guests have a great stay and are available at a beckon call! Please see other reviews for confirmation of this. Best wishes and luck with other VRBO properties.

Wonderful house, big living room and kitchen to spend time together in!

  • 5 of 5

Great location, easy to go out for hikes and activities. Worth mentioning is that it's open space all throughout the house which makes spending time together easy, however no doors to shut to where the beds are. All together a wonderful experience!
