About Steven McCrane

Owners are Steven and Lori McCrane from Texas. We been enjoying Estes Park for many years when they were young and as their children grew up. There have been many found memories of the children at the YMCA camp and hikes to the Alluvial Fan and the lakes inside Rocky Mountain National Park. Steven and Lori live in Texas but plan to spend all the time they can here in Estes Park and share their home with others when they are not able to use it themselves.

Steven McCrane purchased this house in 2014

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

This place is nothing short of Fantastic. The cabin is amazing with incredible views of Rocky Mountain National Park. Our family, many of whome drove from Georgia stayed here over the Christmas weekend. From the moment we arrived we were impressed. The care taker Chris was extremely helpful, even letting us know what we didn't need to buy at the store, I.e hot chocolate, and texting us pictures of the deer outside of the house. The cabin has a ton of room, high end appliances, heated floors and a great fireplace. Can't think of a better place to have been with our family over Christmas.

Beautiful house with fantastic views and wildlife literally at the back door

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 had a fantastic time in this house! There was more than enough room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and the dining table had room for 10, if needed. We put corn out and had turkeys and deer (including a huge buck) in the driveway right outside the back door. There was a herd of elk at the bottom of the road in the mornings. The views from all of the huge windows were amazing! This is a great spot - an 8-10 minute drive to town and close to great hiking trails (for awesome views and good exercise, try Gem Lake and Kruger Rock). We would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Estes Park. Also, Chris was beyond helpful - she picked up a turkey and defrosted it for us for our Thanksgiving dinner and offered hiking suggestions. She also stopped by to help us when we had trouble figuring out the oven. Perfect place and perfect service!

We hosted a small company retreat at this location and it was great. Beautiful house and location. Kitchen is fully stocked, beds are comfy and our host was one call/text away. We will definitely be back!

Exceeds expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Our entire family agreed that this home greatly exceeded expectations. The photos don't do it justice. We've been visiting Estes Park since the 80s, and in the past, we had always maximized time in the park / town and generally returned to our lodging only at night. However, with this beautiful home, we found ourselves wanting to stay around for breakfast in the morning, return in the afternoon, and enjoy the fireplace or fire pit late into the night. Since it is located at the end of the road and top of the hill, the views for sunrise and sunset are stunning, and the wildlife visits often. Agree with other reviewers that both the attention to detail and plentiful amenities surpassed any other rentals we've ever used.

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week stay in Estes Park, and our vacation was as comfortable and enjoyable as it was in large part due to this property. We have never stayed in a property that was so thoughtfully appointed for guests. Anything that we forgot (ziplock bags and vegetable oil), or didn't even know we needed (picnic basket and flip flops) were available for our use. We played horseshoes while enjoying a fire in the fire pit (plenty of dry wood and a small ax available) and had fun watching wild turkeys and deer eat the corn we left out in the morning. We also saw a pack of coyotes wander up the mountain. There was much to explore in Rocky Mountain National Park, which was very close, as well as up Giant Track Mountain, which was right out the back door! Horseback riding at Cowpoke Corner Coral was great and very close, and there were several good restaurants just down Hwy 66, within 10 minutes of home. We had an amazing week here, and sincerely thank you for providing such a well cared for and well appointed home.
