2 bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, Henry's Lake view, 13 minutes to West Yellowstone
For rent is our beautiful cabin in Island Park. The cabin sits on half an acre with views of the Sawtelle mountains, the northeast shore of Henry's Lake and just 13 short miles from West Yellowstone. This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin sleeps 8 and puts you in the middle of everything Island Park and Yellowstone has to offer. The original cabin is a hand-scraped whole log cabin, completely renovated and newly decorated in 2013. Our cabin is a charming, secluded, comfortable place to stay while you adventure through Yellowstone, fish on Henrys Lake or nearby Hebgen Lake, hike, bike, horseback ride and more. ATV/Rafting/Horseback tours and the West Yellowstone rodeo are just 10 minutes away. At the end of the day, grill on the patio or sit around the fire pit outside. We are excited to announce we have been working hard and have completed the new mudroom/entry and beautiful new deck and grilling area which also includes an outside table and chairs.
*Almost all area rental agreements require that you drop off all your trash at a landfill that is about a 1/2 hour drive each way but we provide trash removal service with your booking.

About Nancy Rumsey
We live in Utah and my husband and I are the parents of four great kids and the cutest grand babies you have ever seen. My husband is a contractor and I am a stay at home mom/decorator/rehab addict (I have a passion for remodeling homes).
Nancy Rumsey purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Nancy Rumsey chose Island Park
We have vacationed here for years and fell in love with Henry's Lake. Over the years, we have developed a love for flyfishing and this has become our children's favorite place. When looking for a cabin in the area, of course I wanted the one with the most potential that needed a lot of love. We completely overhauled the cabin in November of 2013 (yes it was about 30 below zero) and continue to improve it yearly. We love this little cabin and have many wonderful memories here.
What makes this Cabin unique
Only 13 miles from West Yellowstone. We have many favorite places to go and things to do and would be happy to share those with you to make the most of your vacation.

Nancy's Nest Island Park, Id 9/25/2017 - 10/2/2017
We have rented from HomeAway several times over the past few years and have been satisfied with all rentals, with the exception of Nancy's Nest. We were very disappointed with this cabin. We arrived to find a note saying there were rodents in the cabin. A rental should never have rodents. The kitchen was a hot mess and needs some organization. We were also disappointed that the pellet stove in the living room did not work. The cabin felt like it was pieced together and the floors were uneven. The beds were not comfortable. We couldn't get the dead bolt on the front door to lock. The internet connection was not good. We truly feel like this place is highly overrated and the priced for what we expected.
Pat and Bill Edwards
Wow. Ok. First off, the welcome note on the refrigerator asks that you keep any unused food in the fridge or in the bread box to avoid attracting mice, NOWHERE does it say that the cabin has rodents so unless you actually saw one or had one in the cabin with you, I think your remark is unwarranted. Secondly, everyone else has left glowing reviews about the kitchen and how well stocked it is... you're leaving a bad review because you thought it was unorganized? I know it's hard to please everyone when it comes to a mattress but all beds are new with memory foam toppers and I take pride in keeping the home exceptionally clean and provide new bedding, sheets, and towels each year. The door has since been replaced because we just recently added a new mudroom/entryway and a large outdoor deck with seating for 8. And lastly.... you called me directly and asked if you could use the pellet stove so I happily walked you through each step of turning it on, sat on the phone with you while you started it and told you to call me if you had any issues at all. You never called me back so I assumed it worked just fine... if it didn't , I promptly answer all phone calls, you should have let me know.
You are at a cabin in the mountains, you may not get great internet all of the time but on those occasions, you can set your phone down and reconnect with your family. You might also see a mouse but you may also see a moose, elk or deer right outside your door.
We love our cabin... some floors might have a very slight slope to them because it is an original log home, one of the first ever built in Yellowstone and then eventually moved to our location... we know it's not the Marriott and that's what makes it such a great experience. Sounds like Bill and Pat should have stayed in a hotel.
This adorable cabin was so awesome. It was clean and decorated to cute. This cabin is the perfect location for a stay in Yellowstone. I would absolutely recommend it to everyone. We had mule deer and a pheasant in the yard and the stars were amazing.
Come again any time!
Easy drive to Yellowstone NP
We really appreciated how well stocked the cabin was and all the travel tips from the owner. The kitchen has all the cookware you need to make dinners at night after a day in the park.
We vacationed to this great cabin for 3 nights while exploring Yellowstone national park. My husband & I stayed upstairs with our kids & the grandparents took the master bedroom on the main floor. The cabin looks even better in person than the pics. Very clean & stocked. The fire pit was great! The view and the porch were amazing. We wish we could've stayed longer. The property is right on the main road, but accessed by a side road and it didn't really feel like it because of the elevation & trees & such. Thanks for providing a great place to stay instead of those crowded old hotels! Loved it!
Thank you! Yes we are near a road but it doesn't bother us at all... whenever we leave the only thing our kids and grandkids talk about are the memories made. Glad you felt the same.
Nancy the owner was so helpful from the very beginning. When we arrived at the cabin, it was perfect, so clean and cozy and it was literally stocked with anything you could possibly need, including coffee and bear spray! We did not need the bear spray , thank goodness! The beds were comfy and there was TV's , with cable , nice to watch after a long day . We grilled out . She had written instructions about various things and a nice selection of pamphlets on things to do. The view is breathtaking. The trip to West Yellowstone was about 20 minutes, not so bad. I have stayed in other Home Away places and this was by far a place you could call "home" Thank you for your hospitality . This was our first time in Yellowstone and it willl not be our last. Many thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words. You were an absolute pleasure to work with, please come visit again!
This cute little cabin is a great place to escape. Just a few minutes from Yellowstone and so much to do around here. One of our favorite vacations!
Im so happy you had a great time! Nancy
