About the host
Hosted by Blithe Cravens
Owned and enjoyed by Blithe and her two kids. We've used VRBO for years while traveling across the country. Now we're entrusting VRBO travelers with this Mountain Retreat. We recently bought this property as our mountain escape from Los Angeles. We cannot be at this fantastic property all year round due to my work. While we are away, this property is freed-up for others to enjoy. Feel secure in your vacation property choice - if anything should need attending, we have a property manager in town and a maintenance man familiar with the property 2 miles away. Either person can be there in no time to make your stay easy and enjoyable.
Why they chose this property
I love to ski and my two kids have grown up to be obsessed with snow boarding. We also just love the beauty of the Colorado mountains, and snow sports or summer activities. We finally found the perfect spot for our family in our dream cabin at 120 Big Pine Trail and the Durango area. We knew we had found the perfect place after spending a weekend in the cabin enjoying the peacefulness and beauty of the area; taking long hikes right out the cabin back door; and not seeing a soul. Yet we could still be enjoying all the activities at the Durango Mountain Resort, or be in Durango, after a short scenic drive, having a delicious meal on historic Main Ave. Our Durango cabin provides a cozy retreat and amazing proximity to all the mountains have to offer.
What makes this property unique
We chose this property and the Durango area for several reasons. Most importantly its incredible proximity to Durango Mountain Resort and all the resort has to offer in both the winter and summer seasons and the easy access to fabulous hiking trails. In addition to all the access to outdoor activities of the area, the natural wonders, historic sites, restaurants and bars, and theater just a short scenic drive from our cabin. The location of the cabin is incredibly peaceful due to the amazing scenery, views, and solitude. You can enjoy the outdoors right outside the cabin by hiking into the San Juan National Forest, or cross country skiing or snowshoeing out the back in winter. To top it off the people in the area are some of the friendliest we have come across, and the pace of life is utterly relaxing. Our cabin combines relaxation with extraordinary activities just minutes away. The beauty and serenity that surrounds this property will regenerate you!
