About this property

Cascade Village/ Two Decks w/ Great Views/Heated Pool

Our 1,900 square foot Cascade Village condo (Unit 35) features three bedrooms / three bathrooms and is a great family mountain escape, with a full kitchen, wood fireplace (wood provided), two private decks with amazing views, providing all the comforts of home. This condo is unique in that it offer 2 loft spaces, perfect for multiple families. The open living plan and high end furnishings and linens all contribute to the warm atmosphere.

Bed Configuration:
Master Bedroom - King Bed and Ensuite Bath-private balcony (2nd Level)
2nd Bedroom - King Bed with TV (2nd Level)
3rd Bedroom - Queen Bed with TV (Main Level)
Loft - Trundle bed (Single over Single) (2nd Level)

Please note, due to HOA regulations, this unit, and all of the units at Cascade Village, are NOT pet friendly. Also, trailers are not allowed.

As with all properties in the area, the condo does not have AC. Given the day times highs are rarely above 80 while the lows are in the 40s. Open the windows after the sun is behind the mountains and then close them in the morning along with the blinds that face west. This will keep the house plenty cool.

Cascade Village is less than 2 miles north of Purgatory Resort, 26 miles (less than 30 minutes) north of Durango and 25 miles south of Silverton (less than 30 minutes). Free on-site amenities at Cascade Village including an indoor heated pool, sauna, outdoor/indoor hot tubs, pool table, outdoor tennis court, ski rental shop (with discounts)

Purgatory offers a complimentary ski shuttle to our Cascade rental guests on a set schedule 1-2 times in the AM and PM during the ski season, on a first come first serve basis. Details will be provided in your rental instructions.

All of the Cascade Village units are equipped with reliable Fiber Optic internet service with an average internet speed of up to 50 Mbps and guests can stream their favorite movies and TV shows on their preferred provider (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime) using the smart TVs in the unit. With fast and reliable fiber optic WIFI, guests can stream on multiple devices. Cable TV is not available in any units at Cascade Village.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Great property, just as pictured! Two couples enjoyed a 4 night/5 day ski trip. Very spacious, comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. The jacuzzi tub in the master was divine after a long ski day. Would definitely stay here again!

The condo was perfect for our girl’s trip. There was lots of room, very well stocked kitchen, and a quiet and safe property. The 20 minute drive to town was not bad at all and the weather was so much cooler up the mountain. One thing we especially loved is that our senior guests were able to be dropped off at the door to the main level and had a bedroom right off living area. There were no stairs necessary for them to enjoy their stay as well. For future guests -We would recommend that you bring fans in the summer to cool things off. Bring something to dissuade the mosquitoes as well. We will definitely be staying again when we visit Durango.

Excellent Ski Weekend in Comfortable Condo

The property was perfect for 6 adults - all had privacy with separate baths. The ambiance was wonderful with fantastic views & nice amenities. A few items that may be fixed/enhanced: the shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers in the 3 baths didn't function - body wash came out as water. The apartment's actual front door doesn't lock from the outside hall - only the downstairs entrance locks & unlocks with the door code.. If it's supposed to be that way, maybe a note would help. Two beds (1 king & 1 queen) didn't have top sheets. We used a queen & a single from the closet to finish making the beds. Information regarding the pool & hot tub hours & door code would have been helpful. We called & got the code, but that shouldn't be necessary. Several lamps had bad light bulbs With the lamps on switches in several places, it took a while to find the problems. To use the remotes for the TV/Roku, we had to be within 3 feet of the Roku box - maybe a battery issue? Though I've listed several items here, that shouldn't discourage anyone from choosing this property. The condo is beautiful, with nice furniture, charming] atmosphere & I will choose this place again next year!)

Reviewer Comments: I'll start with the pros - Great LocationLoved the shuttle (in winter runs twice in the morning & twice in the afternoon) covered parking was greatpool/spa was nice but no towelsKitchen had a lot of oils/spices/salt/pepper and that was nicebed were comfortable Liked having the two tables. Great for games/puzzles. Cons: This house needs some TLC. It needs some cleaning. Under all the furniture there is trash and it's just dirty. All surfaces need to be cleaned and dusted. It feels very choppy and tight despite being a larger space. I think some updated furniture that's less bulky might be helpful and just decluttering by getting rid of the fake floral arrangements that just take up space. The kitchen set up is tight but we managed. The Keurig didn't work. While the kitchen has a lot of stuff it needs to be gone through. Many pots without lids. The hot water for the house is VERY temperamental. We reported this and they said someone would look at but no one came. Hot water runs out very fast. We had 7 and only person could shower at a time and had to spread out showers to morning and afternoon/evening. Nice to have washer and dryer but wasn't sure how to work the "lint" system?! Also the pillows in the bedrooms need to be updated badly! Wish I had brought my own. Also I did ask to check in early and they said they would let me know. I asked again the morning of check in and they said they would text but never did. When we arrived I realized no one had rented the place in a week but yet they couldn't let us in an hour early? Seemed odd but I guess check in is check in. We just wanted to time right with bringing groceries for the week from Durango.

Location is half way between Silverton and Durango and was perfect for all of our excursions. We had 3 couples and it was perfect for us. 3 king beds and 3 bathrooms. With 2 bonus rooms. We would stay again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cascade Village is a great location if you’re ready for fun at Purgatory Resort. They even offer a free shuttle back and forth to the resort as well as a ski shop for your rental needs (and it’s cheaper than Purgatory!). And the hot tubs, heated pool, game rooms, restaurant, etc make this a fabulous place to stay. #35 is a nice, large condo with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and 2 loft areas! The one on the 3rd floor is a perfect “kid zone” with large TV, DVD player and 2 couches. The kitchen was good sized and well appointed with plenty of dinnerware and cookware and there was ample seating at table, bar and game table. Beds were overall comfy but master king bed needs new mattress/cover and some newer sheets would be a plus. With the condo amenities, fabulous view (one of the best in the entire village!), and location, you can’t go wrong with this place. You can even sled right out your back door!!!Our only real complaint was a bit of housekeeping that could be improved upon. There were 15-20 dead flies in the windows around the fireplace and the carpet needed a more thorough vacuuming, particularly on the stairs. If you’re looking for a place near Purgatory Resort with lots of amenities and room for a large family or 2-3 small ones, you’ve found it here. Great condo, great location and great memories!!!

Very clean and cozy!

The location is between Durango and Silverton, 30 mins to both. Unfortunately, there was construction going on right next door and out front which was unpleasant (would begin about 8am). Other than that, we very much enjoyed our stay!

Great Location and Very Roomy

This condo offers great room for gig families. All eight of us had a lot of space. Clean and equipped with a lot of accommodations. The only thing that was really ever a bothersome was how hot the family room on the third floor was. Other than that, I would highly recommend.
