About Richard Norwood
My name is Richard Norwood and I built my first vacation rental in Pacific Beach on Tourmaline St., ten years ago. I recently decided to expand on our success and provide a North County Beach Property for our clients. I have spent over two months going over every detail and I am excited to say that I am very pleased with the product and I am excited to share it with the upcoming guests. After I graduated from UCLA, I was a high school teacher and would eventually like to go back into teaching, however, Real Estate has always paid the bills. I also own an operate an outdoor adventure company, sending clients all over the world. I am an avid fisherman and love my two dogs Sadie and Mia. Please don't hesitate to ask about the many local experiences we can offer our clients. ex. Bonfire at the beach, Catered Dinner at the Beach, Fishing Trips, kayaking, San Diego Tours and much more!
Richard Norwood purchased this Townhome in 1986
Why Richard Norwood chose Leucadia
This property is amazing. The 180 degree ocean view and the proximity to the beach makes for one of the best beach rentals available in this area, as well as the ocean view and wonderful sunsets.
What makes this Townhome unique

Comfortable condo with oceanfront and sunset views!! Definitely recommend.
Breathtaking Sunsets...they never get old
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was fully equipped with everything you need for the beach. My only suggestion would be to have a few more items in the kitchen such as a liquid measuring cup, spatula and a few extra bowls for cooking in. Other than that, it was a great location. We loved the sunsets every night from the balcony. We will definitely be back.
Home away from home!
This upstairs condo was a wonderful retreat for my husband and I. The furnishings were very nice and comfortable. It was tastefully decorated with nicer finishing touches than other places we have stayed in along the North Coast. The location across from Beacon’s Beach is ideal for accessing the beach. The accommodations in the condo met our every need.
We most loved the size of the condo as it was very spacious! The bedrooms were larger than average and well appointed. The open floor plan of the kitchen and living room was ideal. We truly felt as if we were “at home”.
We spent little time on the patio only because the weather turned cool and overcast or foggy much of our stay, but certainly made use of the barbecue grill.
I do wonder if it would be feasible to reduce the height of the tree in the front yard to make the most of the view from the patio? Just a thought.
All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place for the price, and Mr. Norwood was a pleasure to work with.
Amazing views and access to the water. Spacious and very comfortable accommodation. Thanks for the great stay!
The location of this house is wonderful! We really enjoyed being so close to the beach and several good restaurants in addition to the quite functional kitchen. The neighborhood is lovely. The house was clean and generally comfortable. We were really hot in the house when we first arrived, but it did cool down. During the day we heard the very nearby train and wondered if it would keep us up at night, but we slept well and didn't notice it as much at night. Our stay would have been improved by a washer and dryer in the unit that we did not have to pay extra or climb stairs to use. Other than that, we were satisfied and would recommend this house to friends. The owner was friendly and quick to respond to emails.
What an amazing vacation home! Fantastic atmosphere, ocean view and great people watching from the deck and main living area/kitchen. The house was incredibly spacious with a nice big kitchen, 2 bathrooms and lots of closet space and room to spread out. We had everything we needed to feel at home. The home had an easy, laid back vibe, which is exactly what we were looking for in this trip to Encinitas. We spent HOURS just sitting on the deck, eating, drinking and enjoying the view. We also really appreciated the use of the boogie boards, sand toys and beach towels. The beach is just across from the property. It's incredibly beautiful and a wonderful stretch to walk, play and watch surfers.
Thank you so much for an amazing escape! We can't wait to come back to Encinitas, and we will absolutely stay here again, no question.
The area is the quintessential 1960's beach town, with modern splashes of luxury and tons of eclectic soul. Historic Coast Highway also just blocks away, is home to trendy restaurants, chic boutiques and art studios - great for walking around in the sunshine. The Old Coast Highway continues south through Old Encinitas, through the heart of our lost-in-time 'old downtown' - right past Swami's Beach. Legoland is only a 10 min drive (about 6 miles) and we are about a 30 min drive to Sea World and the San Diego International Airport. The San Diego Botanical Gardens are 2.5 miles away and is a very beautiful place to visit.
Forever immortalized in the Beach Boys 1963 hit song Surfin USA, Swami's is still a 'surfer's heaven' where you can watch the greatest surfers in the world practice their skills every day.
