The way vrbo works is I can only erase ALL the comments if I get a negative one. I am the only one that has never erased a comment. Out of five stars possible I average 4.9 stars with over 100 reviews. I hope this helps as you decide where to spend your precious vacation time. Mahalo nui loa for your kind consideration.

You may notice I have more comments than anyone else.

This is NOT one of those rentals that advertise close to the beach but instead it is actually on the polluted Ala Wai Canal nor is it one of those residential walk up buildings that has no elevators leaving you to carry your luggage up and down many flights of stairs. This is located directly on Kalakaua Ave. and is one block to the beach. This is an immaculate one bedroom that sleeps up to four comfortably. This air-conditioned executive suite has lots of upgrades and additions. The unit is equipped with high speed internet access and a wireless signal for your personal laptop. It has a Deluxe King bed in the bedroom and a very comfortable $1,300 sleeper couch bed with lots of extra linens. There is also a single futon with linens. This condo boasts a full kitchen with granite counter top and oak cabinetry, full size refrigerator, stove/oven, pots, pans, rice cooker, dishes and silverware, deluxe Sharper Image T-Fal toaster, heavy duty blender, 2 LCD TVs, $400 Sanyo microwave/Browner, tea pot, coffee maker and grinder, iron and ironing board and lots of towels. The unit is on the second floor and easily accessible by stairs or elevator....just 5 steps from the elevator and parking. There are fireworks one block away at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa every Friday night between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Subway Deli, ABC Store, 7Eleven and Cheeseburgers in Paradise are next door. Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Benihanas, Kobe Steakhouse n Sushi, Makitti Seafood Buffet and California Pizza Kitchen are one block away....Many more unnamed all close within 2 blocks. You will enjoy visiting because of your proximity to the beach, (Hilton Hawaiiian Village Beach Resort and Spa) and ocean activities, shopping (Ala Moana Shopping Center), grocery store (The Food Pantry), night life, restaurants and of course the new Hawaii Convention Center. Nearby activities: Golf, Tennis, Fishing, Wildlife Viewing, Shopping, Restaurants, Live Theater, Cinemas, Museums, Sightseeing, Swimming, Snorkeling & Diving, Boating, Sailing, Surfing, Windsurfing, Parasailing, Jet Skiing, Shelling. The unit is one block to the beach and (Waikiki) is just 25 minutes (9 miles) from the airport. I like to price the condo low and keep it full. Hotels on this street are charging $229/night for a tiny room with no kitchen, and no view. I have had a few people cancel their reservations at their hotel to come stay here. I like to keep the condo in a condition that will guarantee EVERY guest will have positive comments. You can find cheaper units, but this is by far the most for your money.

HOW TO GET TO THE BEACH FROM THE CONDO: Go out the front of the building and Right at the sidewalk to the corner. Turn Right at the corner without crossing the street. At the next corner you will be adjacent to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa. Just cross the street to the widest sand section of Waikiki Beach.

About Emmanuel Chen

I am a single father who found a way to spend alot of time with my son while making a living. I had no idea the two condos I had purchased before my son was born were zoned for vacation rentals. I believe we can make all the plans we want but the final outcome is up to God. I know many people may only visit Hawaii once in their lifetime and every minute of their time here is precious. I try to treat others as I would like to be treated. I have gained some weight since that picture so I explain to people that I used to be a Chippendale's Dancer and now I am a Chips Ahoy Dancer! My son is a top student at the University of Hawaii and will be attending medical school when he graduates. He wants to be a top surgeon to help others....not for the moolah. In any of his endeavors he has tweaked a better way of doing things. If you stay here, thank you for helping to pay his tuition.

Emmanuel Chen purchased this condo in 1990

Why Emmanuel Chen chose South Oahu

Located at the beginning of Waikiki gives easier access avoiding traffic. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and famous sites. Hawaii Convention Center and Ala Moana Mega Mall are five minutes away.

What makes this condo unique

The free garage parking located close to the elevator is a huge plus. Don't forget the free fireworks show one block away every Friday night.

Walk to Waikiki

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently spent several days in this unit. The property is exactly as shown in the online property listing. The place is very clean, the furniture is comfortable, and the location is great. You can easily walk to Waikiki. The parking space is wonderful because of the lack of available parking in the area. Emmanuel is a gracious host; he met us near the condo and then took us to the location and gave us a personalized tour of the place. We would be happy to stay there again.

Awful Noise! Entsetzlicher Straßenlärm!

  • 2 of 5

We stayed 9 nights in this condo, and we were so glad, when we could leave this place. The noise of 3 streets is awful. During days and nights. No relaxation possible. We cannot recommend this condo.

Owner's Response: Mahalo nui loa for taking the time to write this review. The ability for guests to leave comments help the potential new guests get a realistic feel of the condo. The vast majority of my reviews are more than positive. I am very sorry to hear you were not happy at the condo. My condo is quieter than most Waikiki units as the lanai has a solid concrete wall verses other units that have just a slatted railing. Waikiki is not known for it's tranquility. If you are looking for a quiet place tried to avoid Waikiki and especially ads that mention they are on the main street through Waikiki. This is a great location if you are looking to be close to the beach and all the shopping, sightseeing and restaurants that make Waikiki famous at an excellent rate.

Very convenient location

  • 5 of 5

My youngest adult son and I came to Honolulu for my middle son's wedding and had planned on staying for 10 days, so we wanted a place that was more like a home not a hotel, and we found it with Emmanuel's property. It had everything we needed and was close by stores and places to eat as well as a short walk to the beach! Emmanuel met us promptly upon our arrival and welcomed us as if he knew us already :). The king size bed was very, very comfortable and the internet was quick, which was good for me as I was job hunting and house hunting while we were there as well (yes, we are moving to Oahu lol). The parking garage was one of the best perks, we rented a van and had no trouble parking in the garage. You will be more than happy with the condo and our host, Emmanuel.

convenient location

  • 4 of 5

This is a good location, in walking distance to Ala Moana and Waikiki main area. For Asian visitors, it is close to a Korean market and Don Quijote as well. The owner, Emmanuel, has been quick to respond to my request to fix the wifi.

Loved this little place! Good location close to Waikiki strip and the beach! Fri night fireworks !!!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay at this little apartment :0) We have stayed in one of Emmanuel's other places ...he is such a great host! It never ceases to amaze me, the detail he put into making our stay so pleasant. It's small but very cosy and reasonably priced for the area. If you have forgotten anything it will most likely be already supplied but if not there is the ALL famous ABC store downstairs. We cooked our own breakfast most morning and had coffee on the lanai. It small and cozy but enjoyed sitting out there in the evening and morning's before heading out for a fun day. We chose not to have a car and it was great. We didn't need one. We walked to great restaurants, the beach an amazing coffee shop. There is a Dollar Rental Car close. Fireworks on the beach on Friday evening. I would definitely stay again on our next visit... Loved it!

We loved this apartment!

  • 5 of 5

We agree with previous reviewers- this is a very clean, comfortable, convenient rental for an amazingly good price. We were there for 8 days and loved the comfortable bed, the well-stocked kitchen, the lanai overlooking Kalakaua Ave. (the greatest people watching), the very convenient laundry, parking & WiFi. The best beaches in Waikiki are close, as are the bus stops. We only rented a car for 3 days, to explore other parts of O'ahu. Otherwise, we walked or took the bus. Emmanuel was very helpful and easy to work with.

Our restaurant recommendations are the Wailana Coffee house (open 24 hrs- on the way to the beach) especially for quick, casual meals, OR early dinner at the Hula Grill (upstairs from Duke's- walkable but a bit of a hike, or take the #2 bus).
