Built in 1967, Lazy RB Ranch is located on 90 secluded acres. It is a classic Mid Century luxury home designed by Charles Sink, a well know Modernist. WiFi equipped. (We ask that you DO NOT STREAM MOVIES OR TV because of monthly data limits.)

The Master Bedroom has a king-bed & wood-burning fireplace. It has a full bathroom with separate shower & tub, 2 sinks, & dressing room. The Guest Room has two twin beds and its own full bathroom. The 3rd bedroom has two twin beds and the 4th bedroom has a king-bed, and a sleeper sofa. The 3rd & 4th bedrooms share a full bath. The design is ideal for 2-family rentals; two bedrooms are at one end of the great room, and two are at the other.

The great room is an astonishing 38' x 19', with a 17' ceiling. It has a 6' x 3' raised wood-burning fireplace set in moss-rock granite, with a solid granite hearth. The west wall has a 65' HD TV with blue-tooth connectable sound-bar, 120 channels of programming, and a Blu-Ray player. There is also a fine stereo system with an i-phone/mp3 jack. The south wall is all-windows, so the view is ...well, you will be impressed.

The kitchen is large, with over & under ovens, electric 4-burner cook top, microwave, refrigerator/ freezer, & dishwasher. The connected breakfast area easily seats 8 and has a wood-burning fireplace. The dining table (in Great Room) seats 10. There is a pass-through counter/bar between the kitchen & dining area.

In the basement you will find a 3/4 bath, 2 extra beds, ping-pong table, foosball table, boar bristle dart board & game area.

The back patio is 37' x 17', with nice furniture and a gas grill. It is often usable during the winter, as it is sheltered on three sides, and has direct south exposure.

A two car garage is available for renters.

Private (catch & release) fishing is available on the property. Guests must provide their own gear & license.

Note: Except for 3-day Holiday-Weekends, nights booked beyond the minimum stay are discounted. Also, we generally offer 1-week discount nightly-rates starting at six nights, not the customary seven.

About Peter Black

Four of the Black family siblings own Lazy RB Ranch, along with their children. Our parents grew up in the area, and returned here for summer vacations starting in 1952. Peter Black has lived in the Boulder area since 1967, and is now a retired school teacher, taking on management duties at Lazy RB.

Why Peter Black chose Winter Park Area

Robert & Reggie Black purchased Sky Valley Ranch in 1952. The 'New House' was built in 1967. The ranch has since been divided between family members, and the upper house, is now called Lazy RB Ranch, named after its registered livestock brand.

What makes this house unique

We love the memories we have of our times at Lazy RB. The whole family loves the ambiance of the crackling fire in the evenings. Many, many ski weekends have been enjoyed, using the house for 'home-base'. The sunsets can be so spectacular that they silence conversation. It is a magical place.

Amazing weekend away

We had three families (10 people) stay at the Lazy R B Ranch over a three day weekend and had a wonderful time. Peter was a great host who embodied hospitality - he met us there with complimentary drinks & coffee, removed the snow and gave a tour of the home. The home is a sprawling mid-century modern (think Frank Lloyd Right) jewel and we immediately felt at home. The location of the home was ideal for us because it's right next to Devil's Thumb Ranch (half of us cross country skied) and about 20 minutes to the Winter Park Ski Resort.

We will definitely be back again!

Unbelievable Home and Views...Outstanding

Have you ever seen one of those places in photos or on TV and imagine to yourself, "Wow, I'd love to experience that with my close friends and family!" and then wonder how you could ever have that opportunity. Well, this is that place. The view from the backyard of the house is enough in itself for you to decide to stay. You'll find yourself wanting to just sit outside, relax, and enjoy the scenery all day! The house is very spacious and provides plenty of sleeping space. We loved how authentic everything is in the house, the architecture, the style, and construction. Aside from the house and view, Peter is an excellent host. He's very hospitable, generous, and goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. If you do need anything you may have forgotten, the town of Fraser is roughly 6 minutes down the road, easily accessible. And Peter is sure to have good recommendations on where to eat out if you feel the desire to do so. My overall experience was a 10 out of 10 and I plan to return to rent through Peter so I can share the experience with others.

Perfect Home for a Family Vacation

We rented this home for a wedding that was close by for our family of 6. Do not hesitate to book this property, it is in an outstanding location! The views are truly breathtaking. We enjoyed waking up each morning to see the horses in the pasture below and watch as the sunlight changed the beauty of the mountain range. The home is set up so nicely with bedrooms on either end of the home. Also, having 4 bathrooms made getting ready for our special events super convenient. The home made our stay very special we felt lucky to have found this property. The owner is very kind, responsive and provide great info.

Beautiful location with constant views of the mountains.

We loved meeting Peter and hearing about some of the history of the home and his involvement in that history. After a very helpful walk through of the home we found it to be a very comfortable place for our family to enjoy the surrounding area, play games, view the stars and watch fireworks. The fishing kept our family busy and gave us stories to tell later in the evening.

I would love to return to this home, sometime in the future.
