Gorgeous waterfront home close to town

  • 5 of 5

My husband, children and I stayed at The Barn for a week in July. This house is spacious and comfortable while being updated and gorgeous. The three bedrooms were all comfortable, and the kitchen was impressive. I was a bit hesitant at first because from the photos it wasn't clear how easy it would be for my three year old to get into the water from the dock, but there was no issue at all as the steps were sturdy and the water of Rust Pond was clean and clear. Christopher and his family were very quick to respond with any questions (we thought we may have left behind an item, and reached out to him and he responded immediately). This house is a great location within Wolfeboro, Rust Pond is a bit quieter than being on the Lake, and you can be downtown in minutes. Having a kayak and canoe to use without the hassle of renting or bringing our own was also a huge plus. I highly recommend The Barn if you are looking in Wolfeboro!

Lakefront perfection

  • 5 of 5

The Barn has everything you're looking for in a lakefront home! The house is immaculate and includes many of the amenities you are used to having at home - big kitchen with an incredible six burner stove, washer /dryer and TV. The outside seating is wonderful and my family loved sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and looking out at the lake. The water is pristine for swimming and I highly recommend taking advantage of the kayak and canoe available to renters.

Owner's Response: Hi Cassie … thank you for your very nice review and comments about the house. I'm so glad you liked the house and had such a good time in the house and on the Lake! It sounds like you were able to enjoy a little bit of everything with canoeing, kayaking and marshmallows on the firepit! I'm sorry we probably won't be welcoming you back to The Barn, but we look forward to welcoming you as a new Wolfeboro neighbor instead! All the best from The Twomey Family!

Perfect Lake Spot!!

  • 5 of 5

This property was the perfect spot for our 4th of July week vacation! A very homey feel when you walk in!! The house is equipped with everything you need...right down to the firepit for roasting marshmallows and watching the fireworks across the lake!!! We had enough room to host my husband's family for a bar-b-que on the 4th.....as there is a grill and a nice outside table and chairs. The owner is quick to answer any questions, and left a welcoming gift and message when we arrived. I would highly recommend this spot for any get away!!!

Slice of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

My son and I stayed a week in June and both fell in love with this home and the surrounding area. A gorgeous lakeside retreat with unique style and appeal. Chris was a wonderful host who simplified our visit with his courteous care and guidance for the area ,which we'd been previously unfamiliar. Don't miss a visit to Mount Washington and a trip up it via the Cog Railway, as well as a day at Gunstock for summer time activities such as zip-lining, the mountain coaster and, if you dare, the tree tops rope course. Can't wait for our next visit to the area, my only hope that The Barn will once again be available.

Owner's Response: Hey Drew … thanks so much for your incredibly kind review and comments about the house and surrounding area. It sounds like you and your son had a great time exploring New Hampshire … there’s nothing better than spending time at The Barn with your kids watching them explore the area for themselves and watching the smiles on their faces! I hope you’ll make the trek back from Texas some time soon … the foliage in the Fall is spectacular and the snow makes for some great skiing, snow-showing and snowmobiling in the winter! Just let me know when you’re planning a return and I’ll be sure to sort out availability for your next stay! All the best from The Twomey Family!

Best Vacation Spot in Wolfeboro!

  • 5 of 5

Our family was sad to leave! This house felt like home! Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, comfortable furnishings, washer and dryer, all of this plus waterfront and a private dock! The home honestly feels like it's out of a Better Homes and Gardens magazine! The water is pristine and the location is perfect! The most spectacular sunrise you could imagine over the mountains! This is the place to stay if you are visiting Wolfeboro, or New Hampshire! I can't recommend this home enough! The owner is fantastic and very quick to respond to any question we had! Loved our stay at The Barn, great memories that we will cherish!

A wonderful place to unwind

  • 5 of 5

The house is spectacular. The rustic charm, the amenities and large open concept space allowed us the opportunity to entertain a large group during our stay at Thanksgiving. The views of Rust Pond, the warmth of the home while we watched the snow fall was a wonderful way to spend our holiday. Thank you to Christopher and his family for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Nestled on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipesaukee and surrounded by the pristine beauty of forests and mountains, Wolfeboro is a quintessential New England community with a rich heritage.

Distinguished as “The Oldest Summer Resort in America,” Wolfeboro has grown to become a four-season vacation destination as well as a cherished home for full-time residents. A visit to Wolfeboro can be whatever you want it to be: a romantic getaway, a fun-filled family weekend or a quiet respite from hectic city life. Here you’ll find a myriad of shops, art galleries and museums, as well as a tempting array of restaurants, bed and breakfasts and inns.

In the summer the town bustles with sight-seeing, concerts, summer theater and craft fairs. Sports enthusiasts enjoy boating, fishing and swimming. Shoppers delight in the many locally-owned shops and boutiques. In the Fall, spectacular foliage creates photo opportunities at every turn. Nearby country fairs abound with a cornucopia of produce, farm animals, and crafts. The crisp weather invites long country walks and evenings by the fire. Under a blanket of glistening snow, Wolfeboro becomes a winter wonderland for skiing, snowmobiling, skating, ice fishing and more. “Ice Out” on Lake Winnipesaukee heralds the onset of spring, syrup flows from the maple trees and a delicate green mist decorates the forest, the harbinger of the summer to come.

Come visit. Explore. Shop. Dine. Ski. Fish. Boat. Hike. Golf. Picnic. Laugh. Talk. Share. Nap. Dream. Stay. You can do everything or nothing at all in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire — The Jewel of Lake Winnipesaukee.
