About Don Dow

Our family has been on this bay for over 57 years. The families first house was 300 ft away. Our parents built Pearl's Beach House enjoy their later years on the beach they lived on since 1958. Two brothers own the property now, have updated it but kept the original cabin like feel with the warm wood, big windows and open floor plan. All five children in our family graduated from Bainbridge High School. When we first moved onto the bay, it was mostly weekend cabins for those living in Seattle.

Don Dow purchased this house in 1976

Why Don Dow chose Puget Sound North

We wanted to keep this house in our family to continue our traditions on Forth of July and making memories together with friends as well.

What makes this house unique

Growing up on this beach, was the ultimate and we didn't truly appreciate it until our adult years. Our playground (beach) changed each day with the tide. We have added a sizeable deck to the house, updated the kitchen, furnishings, but keeping the unique feel of our family home. The views are amazing. Our father used to say, 'no one can build in front of my view of Mt. Rainier'....

Outstanding, First Class

  • 5 of 5

This cozy beach house was ideal for our family get-a-way.The photos are all true-it is just as beautiful as it looks,we really could see Mt. Rainier & ferries going by. The home is clean and has new furnishings. It is generously stocked with plenty of towels, new dishes and a pantry full of condiments (we baked fresh salmon!). We were impressed with the thoughtfulness of the owners, they've thought of everything a guest could want. In fact we were so relaxed and happy that we barely left the house to go sightseeing.

Beautiful property, amazing location, comfortable surroundings

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter and I stayed at Pearl's cabin and found it to be amazing. The beds are phenomenally comfortable, the pantry nicely stocked, soft blankets, squishy pillows and a feast for the eyes. We enjoyed walks on the beach and going to Lynwood center for yogurt and pizza! Highly recommend this beautiful treasure.

Exactly as described, with accordion doors separating bedrooms and living/dining areas

  • 5 of 5

My son and daughter-in-law and grandson, 6 years old, and 4 1/2 years old granddaughter and I spent the most delightful week in this charming cabin at a prime beachfront location. The children spent many hours wading (shoes on) in the calm shoreline water and discovering various sea creatures, including a baby octopus which, of course, they didn't touch. Low tide was the highlight of each day, and it seemed to be very necessary to move beach logs around and continually add to a temporary seashell/sand dollar collection. Lots of children time spent entertaining themselves, with only 1 adult supervisor necessary. Lots of adult time relaxing and enjoying a fabulous view. Would we rent this house again? In a minute!

Perfect stay-cation, unbeatable views!

  • 5 of 5

Pearl's cabin is such a special place. The impeccably maintained home is an awesome combination of retro cabin meets glam beach house. The open floor plan and vaulted ceilings make it especially unique and fun! We spent a week there working remotely from the beach (oh, those views!) and commuting into downtown Seattle by ferry. We fell in love with the Bainbridge lifestyle and dreamt of making this a summer tradition. Our young son spent an awesome week at day camp at Islandwood. We loved getting to know the locals in the little village of Lynwood, and the breakfast sandwiches at the Marketplace are amazing! When the Bremerton ferry passes by in front of Mount Rainier, you'll pinch yourself and wonder, "is this real life?" It is the stuff that postcards are made of. Thank you, Don and family, for sharing your special home with us!

Hidden gem on Bainbridge Island

  • 5 of 5

This is truly a wonderful place to relax and enjoy family time. The location is one of the best on Bainbridge with the water at your footsteps and breathtaking views of Mt. Rainier. Kayaking in the protected waters right off the beach was a breeze. Wildlife viewing was an added plus as we spotted black tail deer, bald eagle and a grey whale from the comfort our private beach. The cabin itself was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed for meal preparation. With the spacious living area, outdoor deck and firepit area, we had ample space for 6 people. Added touches such as firewood, coffee, hershey's bars (for S'mores), spices and olive oil, were appreciated. Within walking distance (about 1 mile) to restaurants and shops. A short 10 - 15 minute drive to other places on the island. The owner, Don, was easy to reach and good about communication. I would not hesitate to rent this property again!
