Our Wedding Week
We rented these 2 cottages for the week of our wedding. There were perfect from having a rehearsal dinner, getting ready for the big day & enjoying everyone's company afterwards. After our wedding (at Keuka Lake State Park Shelter - great place for a great celebration) we stayed at the cottages with our closest friends & family. We wanted to spend more time with those that traveled from various states & these cottages were perfect for that. We planned some group events (wine/beer tastings & dinners) but also had time that each family could go & do as they wanted as well. And, those friends who didn't know each other that well at the start, now have a bigger extended family now. It made our "honeymoon" week so much more fun & memorable! We couldn't have planned or dreamed of such a great week! The cottages were the perfect spot with spacious room for all to have their own space & enough space to be together as a group. The best part for us was waking up with the lake view & drinking our coffee on the deck or dock. It is so peaceful, you can't help be relaxed, We did not have that "hurried" feeling at all. (Not even when getting tot the wedding on time.) We dealt with Linda, the owner, & she was great! Any time I had a question before our stay she responded to my email within the same day. She was also available via text messages throughout the week. We had minor questions for her, & she got back to us within minutes. I would recommend this place every time! We are all still talking about how great a time we all had & that spending the extra time together was a wonderful experience. Our week at the cottages were so relaxing that no one wanted to go back home. We are already being asked to rebook it for years to come because everyone had such a great time!
What can I say? Your review is heartwarming for our family. We work hard to make it the very best it can be, and a piece of heaven for those who stay on our property. Thank you, and we are all so happy that everyone enjoyed themselves. Come back to see us next year, or stay in the little cottage for a long weekend this fall!
Great spot for a family vacation
We enjoyed our stay at the Lakeside Cottages on Keuka Lake. The owner was very responsive and concerned of our comfort and needs while we were there. It was an ideal spot for our large family to enjoy. Great deck spaces!
Great time for young and old.
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with our family and had a wonderful time.We were 11 in all and had teenagers and ages on up and everyone had a great time. the houses were roomy and the decks had awesome views. we had a few campfires at waters edge at night .and had wonderful star filled skys .
plenty to do but we mostly played in the water and used the available canoe Kayak and paddle boat.Thank you , the DiSalvo family
Keuka treehouses was the perfect description of the cottages by one of our guests.
I planned a Keuka vacation with my adult children and grandchildren in hopes that they would enjoy it as much as I did in my childhood. The lovely and comfortable cottages made our inaugural Keuka family vacation a complete success, guaranteed to be repeated. The large decks allowed plenty of space for entertaining as did the lakeside docks and firepit area for enjoying the lake and views. The convenient location to Hammondsport and the vineyards was perfect for exploring the breathtaking landscapes.
We appreciate your wonderful review of our "treehouses" and look forward to your returning next year for your second annual family reunion. Our lake homes are very special to us, and the fact that others enjoy them means a great deal to us. Keuka Lake and Blacksmith Cove awaits your next visit!
Quick weekend getaway!
We had a great time at this cottage in the lake! The house was clean and well kept and had everything we needed plus more! Linda and i texted throughout the weekend making sure we had everything! The view and the trees were just gorgeous and the cottage was great and centrally located to everything and everywhere we needed to go! We would definetly go again!!
Come back to see us this Fall! We've added some nice touches to the cottage that we think you'll appreciate! This review was based on just our one lakeside cottage - which is now listed under Keuka Lakeside Darling on the VRBO site. We now sleep 8 comfortably! The Fall colors will be spectacular to see! We're booking up fast - so don't wait too long!
Fairly priced, great location!
This home has such potential. It has three bedrooms containing two double beds and one queen. The kitchen was adequately equipped for a simple meal. The real problem with this home is the spider webs in every single corner and the dust. Even the bed linens were dusty. Not sure why it wasn't freshened up before we arrived. I pulled the vacuum out of the closet to freshen up the place, but there were no attachments to do corners. I guess thats why it hasn't been done! The living room had two leather chairs with ottomans for a home that sleeps six!?! We took shifts relaxing in the living room by twos as the other four sat on two wicker chairs brought out from the bedrooms, or arranging an ottoman against the wall with one of the large pillows from the chair. The kitchen table only had 3 chairs. The location was great. The front porch was very enjoyable, as we ate breakfast there; there was plenty of table seating there. The owner is super duper nice. She even went to the store to get milk for us and refused payment. I don't want to scare anyone from renting this unit. Maybe you should request that the cob webs be removed before you arrive!
This review is for our small guest cottage only.
These guests did not stay in both cottages. We have a new - and improved cleaning staff this year as well.
We sincerely appreciate your extensive review of our property. We have reviewed your comments regarding "spider webs" with our cleaning staff, and have personally done a walk-thru to make certain that the spider webs that you referred to were mostly cobwebs...which are not created by spiders. Two of the bedrooms, the living room and the bathroom were painted just 3 weeks ago (with a thorough cleaning to walls and baseboards, but we sometimes find, for some reason, the cobwebs appear almost overnight near the lake. Re: pillows...I take my own with me everywhere. I'm picky about pillows too! Kitchen reference: I just had purchased a brand new set of 3 skillets, and had on hand several aluminum (throw away) baking pans, pots and pans and a large glass rectangular baking pan for lasagna or other casserole-type meals. The majority of our guests grill on the beach, but have not had anyone mention that the kitchen was inadequate for any type of cooking. Oven/range and microwave work well, per my latest inspection. Admittedly, it is not a gourmet kitchen by any stretch...but we have had some awesome meals prepared there by many of our friends and guests! Seating: The majority of our guests utilize the covered deck facing the lake which has seating for at least 12 people. The bedroom wicker chairs are intended as chairs to be moved around the cottage as needed. Glad you did that. The cottage is not huge, but generally our guests are out on the deck, at the beach...or out for most of the evening so we've not had this issue arise before. We notice that many of our Spring and Fall guests eat most of their meals out - or eat outside at the picnic table on the deck... which seats eight. Re: linens. I personally washed all bed linens and put them on the beds the day before your arrival. That comment puzzles us. We are pleased that you found the cottage priced right and beautifully located. You were great guests, respected our property and left our cottage in immaculate condition. We would certainly welcome you back again any time.
Location couldn't be better. Branchport has 2 small grocery stores-one with wonderful Keuka logo items to buy as souveniers (Crooked Lake Mercantile). Restaurant located in one store. Library, gas station and hardware store also located in Branchport -just 3 miles north of our cottages. Just 15 minutes to Penn Yan where you'll find banks, restaurants, drug stores, post office, hardware store and walking trails next to canal. (Goes from Penn Yan to Dundee) A scenic and fun hiking area. Hammondsport is just 11 miles south on the West Lake Road and is truly one of the coolest small towns. Several great restaurants to choose from.. a.bakery, shops, grocery store, library and a beautiful park located at the head of the lake. Pontoon boat rentals are available at the Lakeside Restaurant located just 3 miles south of cottage. The Glen Curtis Museum is a must see and is located just outside the Village of Hammondsport on Rt. 54. Also, the brand new boat museum is located on Lake St in Hammondsport in an old winery - and is also a must see for boat enthusiasts and those who love to see unique architecture. British Airways voted Rt. 54A one of the most scenic highways in the US a few years ago. Take the drive and see for yourself! Road is located very close to the lake, and the homes along the shore are something to see.
