Wonderful architectural home, built in the 60s. Much of the original charm of the indoor/outdoor living is still intact. The beautiful heated pool with a very fun colored light makes nighttime dips snazzy! DWR King bed in the master (cube light nightstands), queen in the second bedroom and an office/bedroom with a comfy, mod pull out couch. Full kitchen, fireplace, Directv, Apple TV and hi-speed internet. Outdoor BBQ and DWR pool furniture add a fun modern flare, if I do say so. Permit number 6284.
We've both been in advertising for over 20 years, my husband an art director and I'm a producer. We love the way Palm Springs still holds a slice of time from the 60s and we love spending time with our dog Bernice, the St. Bernard.
Jennifer Weinberg purchased this house in 2005
I have been coming to Palm Springs since I was a kid - This is the spot where Spring Break happened... Coupled with the 60s feel of the house - we had to make it a part of our lives.
I loved the way the house felt indigenous to the land - The purple on the house matches the purple hue the mountain gets during the day and the concrete floors flow with the stone outdoors.
PERFECT LOCATION to explore Palm Springs! We rented this house with two teenage girls and my husband and it was perfect! Great house for a small family or two couples, Home owner is very easy to deal with and friendly, home has a fun funky retro style and the neighborhood is fun to drive around and check out the mid century homes. Also close to uptown short little drive!!, Palm Springs is a hip little town and we enjoyed it! (washer dryer pool toys air conditioning kitchen supplies tv games everything you need to enjoy your stay) <3
I can't believe I forgot to review this house. We stayed here March 2016. Family vacation. Loved the house, so beautifully decorated. Really fun. Great pool and dog friendly!! the owner was very easy to contact and communicate with. I would definitely stay here again.
Our recent stay was perfect. We had our two young children and two labradors with us . The house was the perfect size and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. Each part of the day is beautiful in the living room with the big open windows. Plenty of shady areas throughout the day. The blinds in the living room were great at blocking out the afternoon hot sun. I loved the polished concrete floors throughout the entire house, they added to the overall clean feeling the house gave from the time we walked in. The desert landscape is beautiful and very large with a lot of mature and beautiful palms which made the backyard feet private. There is a great park and playground at the end of the street that the kids loved. Albertsons 5 mins away. Great deal for the size, location and price.
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday by the pool. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed, which says a lot when you are preparing a Thanksgiving meal. We managed to pull ourselves away from the house to the Tram, Robo Lights and the Palm Springs Art Museum, all recommended. Jennifer was readily available and responded to all of our needs even though she herself was traveling. I would book this house again in a heartbeat.
A few of us were lucky enough to spend Memorial Day Weekend at this awesome rental. Simply driving into the neighborhood lined with sleek mid-century modern homes is amazing. The home was emacualte and all the furnishings were true to the style of the house. I couldn't help but feel like Don Draper in this mid-century masterpiece. The pool is the centerpiece of this home and can be seen from the living room through the wall of windows. The house was equipped with Smart TV's, Apple TV in two rooms, Sonos in the living room and much more. Safe to say, we didn't leave the house all weekend, except to go refuel on groceries at the Albertsons down the street. Jennifer (the host) was very responsive during the booking process and overall a great host.
I plan on staying here again and highly recommend it!
We loved the authentic mid-century modern feel of this VRBO rental during our stay here in March 2016. Architect designed and nicely updated, this home
had a whimsical artistic interior design vibe including many unique artistic objects, along with a sophisticated blend of colors and textures.
The exterior was equally well done; very private with 14 ft tall, white flowering vegetation (I don't know what that impressive plant is called), palms, pencil cactus, orange & lemon trees. The pool was great - we paid the extra pool heating fee & it was well worth it - we had nice, long swims every evening. The location is good, not far from the airport and close all the Palm Canyon Drive shops & restaurants. The house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is small, as is typical in these vintage homes, but very functional.
Everything was accurately described in the listing. At 1200 sq. ft, we thought it might be a bit tight for 4 adults + a dog, but the open layout and outdoor living space made it seem much larger.
The owner was very responsive to our every inquiry and request.
We would enthusiastically recommend to friends and relatives.
Great street full of architectural Alexander homes, walking distance to the Riviera Hotel for dinner and drinks. Also walking distance to Rick's Café for a big diner style breakfast. Quiet but an easy drive to the action of downtown.
