About Linda Culley

I grew up in this neighborhood and on this beach. It is truly a special place. I love having guests who can enjoy the cottage and doing whatever possible to make your stay comfortable. I am recently retired from a 42 year career in Public Administration and I am looking forward to managing Sinclair Beach Cottage as my main hobby!

Linda Culley purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Linda Culley chose Puget Sound North

This home has been passed down through my family and I am keeping the tradition alive. I grew up in the house next door to the cottage and my grandmother and grandfather lived in the cottage while I was growing up. Then my sister lived in the cottage for about 30 years. I purchased the property in 2014 and renovated the cottage into a vacation rental.

What makes this cottage unique

This property sits on one of the most pristine beaches in Kitsap County. It is low bank waterfront with direct access to the beach. The waterfront deck provides a 180 degree view of Sinclair Inlet, looking towards Port Orchard, Bremerton, Manette, Agate Pass, Bainbridge Island and Rich Passage. The ferries pass every 30 minutes. The beach is great for exploring for sea glass and sea shells and exploring sea life at low tide. There is a large lawn area, great for Croquet or Yard Darts (both provided). The water is great for kayaking and canoeing. (Please bring your own).

A truly serendipitous experience! Heaven is a little closer in a home by the water:)

A beautiful property on the banks of Puget Sound, well placed to watch the vast variety of wildlife and ferries going to and fro. Stunning photograph opportunities with the Olympic Mountains as a backdrop. The cottage is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing during our stay.

Great waterfront home. Good location to explore Kitsap Peninsula.

  • 4 of 5

Linda put a lot of thought into making her home comfortable and equipped for her guests. She had notes throughout the house with instructions for anything you may have a question about how to operate. She was very honest about the water pressure being low, but we were able to have a nice shower if no water was running elsewhere in the house. Wonderful, wonderful outdoor areas, both lawn and beachfront. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers in the garden, but couldn't take our eyes off the boats and birds, and occasional seals that played in the water outside our windows. If you enjoy nothing else, sit on the back porch and watch the sunset over the Olympic Mountains and the water of Sinclair Inlet. It is definitely a home I would enjoy staying in if ever in the Seattle area again.

Sweetest Cottage on the Sound

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the cutest places we've stayed at. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, has all the amenities, and there is nothing weird or quirky about the upkeep. We had a bonfire on the beach, and found lots of beach glass and shells. Our only regret is that we couldn't spend more time there. Linda is very nice and easy to communicate with. We'll stay there again if we have the chance!

Perfectly Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

This little beach cottage took me back to a different time, a different era, when things were more quiet and simple. The circa 1920's cottage has been modestly updated to retain its age old charm while providing every needed comfort. There's nothing fancy here, but there shouldn't be. It is casual, comfortable, convenient and is located in what is arguably the best spot on the inlet. It sits right on the water - no road to look over, no power lines to obstruct the view, just grass, beach and water. If the weather had cooperated I would have spent my entire time on the back deck enjoying the peaceful view. The kitchen is throughtfully stocked with every pot, pan, knife, gadget, etc. that you could possibly need. Linda has notes generously posted throughout the cottage indicating how things best operate, where to find things, what to use ("Everything in this cabinet is meant to be used.") and what to do. There's no guess work in getting to know the cottage. You'll feel at home quickly. There are a few quirks that are important to understand, however. The shower is in the clawfoot tub. As a consequence, one must be adequately limber to get in and out of the elevated tub safely. We didn't have a problem with it but some people could. The bed is high and Linda has provided a stool for those who need it. Again, we did not have a problem. Finally, the heating system is a bit noisy because it is clearly a retro fit for an older dwelling. Just get used to it because it is well worth it. This cottage is a perfect and peaceful escape. Don't forget your kayak!

Owner's Response: Meg, thank you so much for your thoughtful and thorough review! It was great having you and your husband stay. I'm so glad you loved and appreciated the cottage and it's vintage character as much as I do. Linda

I loved being so close to the water and watching the ferries go by. Would love to stay again when the weather is nicer, so I can enjoy the beach.
