About Surrey Bailey or Vera Bailey
We spent summers living in this house and working as teenagers in Rehoboth. How lucky were we. We have rented it out for the last 20 years or so and we like to make little improvements as we go along and get people's reactions as they return year to year.
Surrey Bailey or Vera Bailey purchased this House in 1986
Why Surrey Bailey or Vera Bailey chose South Rehoboth
Rehoboth has been in our family for generations. This home is now on its second. Rehoboth is our beach resort town. So much so, one of us owners lives locally now.
What makes this House unique
This house has lots of options for relaxing with friends. There are 6 different social areas within the house and backyard -- many more intimate places than the new construction homes with their open concept. Parking is generous for 4+ cars. There is a gaming table for the kids, plus board games and a library of books offered to the tenants. The house is fresh and light and a great place to be even if its pouring rain outside.
Nice, quiet location
The Sea Iris had everything we expected. The rooms were clean and tidy. The beach was so close, only 2 blocks away. It was very quiet and cozy. My one complaint, the pool table is incredibly uneven. All the balls rolled to one side of the table. Although it still was fun playing pool, we are thankful to have stayed at this place.
Thank you for your review. Yes, we noticed the gaming table has clearly received some solid use!! Questionable use, sometimes, but seemingly fun. We love the air hockey feature and we’ve never actually used the pool table ourselves. We will look into it to see how we can ensure it’s more level. Unfortunately we find our tenants can have ahistory of moving the furniture around quite a bit during their stays and they have done a real number on that table.
Cozy, well-maintained property that was great for a larger group!
We stayed in Sea Iris for a long weekend in October and the house was perfect! It has a large kitchen that is nice for group cooking, enough beds for 12 people to sleep comfortably and a really nice back patio. The house is only a block and a half from the beach, which was perfect for walks/runs near the ocean. We had a really nice stay and would certainly be back!
Looks are deceiving! This house is much bigger than the pictures show. We had a great time! We had our two Greyhounds along and crate them when we leave and at night. We had plenty of room. The house was very clean. If you like to cook, the kitchen is great. The outside patio is a great size. The neighborhood is beautiful and great to walk in. The boardwalk is a block away. The neighbors we met were friendly and it was quiet. We were there for Greyhounds Reach the Beach and we already booked for next year!
Fantastic group property
We had a large group (of 15) for 4 days and nights here and non of us felt like we were on top of each other in this space. In addition, the owners were just wonderful people to work with, very sweet. My wife and I were having our wedding on the beach and the reception at the house for a small wedding of only 40.
This property is <1.5 blocks to one of the best parts of the beach. It's an easy walk to Rehoboth Ave. in town. But far enough away to be peaceful on the porch. Lots of separate but not segregated sitting spaces in the house.
Of the 6 properties we have rented over the years in Rehoboth, this is our favorite. Our family is planning on trying to make this a regular end of beach season booking.
Very charming beach house
Our stay at this house was great. The house has plenty of room and is in a great location to everything. We were able to walk everywhere. The screened porch and backyard patio area was awesome.
Great Family Vacation House
I booked this house for my three daughters and their significant others as well as my two grandchildren aged 6 and 4. There was plenty of room for all of us. The screened in wrap around porch was a life saver and afforded a place where people could work and be away from all the hub bub. The kitchen is well equipped and we made a number of meals for the entire crew, including a clam bake. The large picnic table was great for this. We were surprised that how close it was to the beach, it really is one block from the beach. It was a great house and we had a great vacation.
2.5 hours east of DC and one of DC's main Beach Resort Towns. 1 Mile of Boardwalk with FUNLAND amusement park, an impressive guarded beach, dozens of restaurants from pizza to high end cuisine, variety of shopping options - all within walking distance of the property. There are also local water parks, impressive Tanger Outlet Shopping (no sales tax in DE), nature trails, historic towns, access to boating, watersports, biking, and so much more. During high season or low, going to the beach is a great change of pace. Some people say its better 'off season'. You should check it out then too.
