Overview

About the property

A Long Driveway, A Bridge, 10 Acres, Two Houses, And A Barn.

Come and enjoy our European rustic, loft style cottage, nestled on ten acres in the Cascade foothills. Down our half mile driveway and across the bridge you will find your vacation rental centered in the woodsy magic of Singing Dog Farm.

The Cottage is elegantly finished with stucco walls, open beams, fir, oak, granite and marble flooring. The home is exceptionally warm and inviting and is the perfect place for adults to relax and enjoy a day in the country.

The master bedroom has a Jacuzzi tub where you can turn on the propane fireplace and lay back and enjoy the overhead skylight, a movie or rock out to music. There is a firm, queen sized mattress in the master bedroom. The master bath has heated marble floors and an exquisite walk in marble shower, as well as its own skylight and in-ceiling speakers.

There is a second bedroom and mud room/guest bath downstairs and a quarter bath upstairs.

The upstairs loft living area has a spacious and open feel. The living area is furnished with plenty of comfortable seating and a good sound system. There is a writing desk where you can sit and seek inspiration from the world, or watch the horses outside the window. French doors open from the living area to a small, cozy deck to enjoy your morning coffee and greet the day.

The upstairs also has a full kitchen with a gas range, all marble counters and a copper sink with copper pans hanging from above the island. The dining area has comfortable seating for four.

The outside grounds are mostly in pasture where our Friesian horses can often be seen galloping for reasons only they can understand, but which we appreciate for the opportunity to enjoy their aristocratic beauty and flowing manes and tails.

The compliment of our four Golden retrievers are on full time as staff members. They are always quite pleased to share their sage wisdom, listen knowingly and attentively to your troubles or just lick your face.

The Cottage has all zone heating, with separate controls in each room. The entry way has heated marble flooring as does the master bath. We have a fair selection of board games and movies as well as satellite TV channels and crappy satellite internet via WiFi. There is a washer and dryer in the mud room.

Just some additional notes, we strive to keep the cottage pristine, so we do ask that it remain, as much as practical, a shoe free home. A bench or stool is provided in both entrances to ease this transition. We also feel that our cottage and property is not suitable for children even when they are attended by loving and amazing parents. The staircase is steep and is all hardwood and the farm itself is not in any way child proofed. In choosing our decor we also knew that while more artistic for adults, the stucco finish and expansive use of soft wood trim is not very forgiving of children. Very sorry for any inconvenience and we hope you understand.

Chris and Teri do live on site in what we call "The North House" (because that sounds so much better than "the trailer"). We completely respect your privacy and the layout of the grounds lends itself to protecting a sense of seclusion.

Please come and enjoy your stay!

About Chris and Teri Lynch

Chris and Teri are married to each other as well as being enslaved to our little hobby farm. We both work the same twelve hour rotating shift, and so are not either predictably home or gone.

Chris and Teri Lynch purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Chris and Teri Lynch chose Sedro-Woolley

We believe it is an relaxing place to be and your enjoyment of our cottage is both important and rewarding to us.

What makes this cottage unique

Country sanctuary and seclusion that doesn't require long drives or treks by donkey. We view the four Golden retrievers as a benefit even when they are mobbing the car or being generally obnoxiously loving.

Our address is 24942 Graber Lane, Sedro Woolley, Wa, 98284. Some GPS data bases are close but not exactly accurate for our address. So, off of Old Day Creek road, turn Right onto Marryfield, then Left on Graber Lane (our shared driveway). Follow Graber lane all the way until it winds a bit and crosses a bridge. There you will find Singing Dog Farm and 3 Golden Retrievers. The dogs will be standing in the middle of the road. They will move. Trust us, we've tried.

Beautiful and very comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was truly beautiful and comfortable - perfect for my brother and his wife and my husband and I to stay for two days!

The hosts worked nights and slept days so there was a delay to get answers when needed, but they were very kind and helpful. The dogs were sweet, although something caused them to bark non-stop for 3 hours the afternoon we arrived. I understand that this was highly unusual, and the hosts gave me instructions for shutting them in the barn which was quite easy. It worked, and we were able to sleep soundly. :-)

I do recommend ear plugs if you take the master bedroom and the ticking of the pot bellied stove would wake you. It wasn't loud, but I'm a light sleeper so I was glad I was prepared. My husband was not bothered.

The kitchen was well appointed and the entire place was very comfortable! The decor was charming and had just the right balance of unique and homey, without feeling like you were invading someone's privacy. I have recommended it to my brother (the one that lives in the area) for the next time he has visitors needing a place to stay!

A sweet getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying at the Singing Dog Farm, and it did not disappoint - it was a great as if not better than the first time. Chris and Teri's cottage is beautifully decorated and stocked with everything one could ever need for a weekend getaway. I especially love the heated floor in the master bathroom. The love care they've put into their property is obvious - it's immaculately kept. Highly recommend.

Beautiful cottage in a quite country setting.

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is amazing! The master suit rivals many high end resorts. The kitchen has top line appliances and was a joy to cook in. Only one thing to share... This is a farm with several dogs and they do bark whenever they want - it's their farm,!

Delightful getaway

  • 5 of 5

You can't go wrong with this charming cottage in Sedro Woolley. It is clean, warm and full of interesting stories and history. Chris and Teri are the consummate hosts and have considered every traveler's needs right down to the heated floor in the bathroom. The family pets,...Golden Retrievers, Friesian horses and even the farm cat add to the warm, welcoming ambience. If you have any time to spend in the San Juans, this is the place you will want to stay.
