Lovely home for the off season!

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for our three person family and two dogs. Very clean but dog friendly, a large back deck, safe walking neighborhood and within a few minutes drive to anything you'd need! Mike was extremely helpful when planning our activities and was an informative and gracious host. His suggestions for restaurants and activities helped make our vacation memorable! Definitely a great value and a perfect getaway spot. We went in April so I can't speak to the crowds in summer but for our visit the neighborhood was quiet and welcoming.

Wonderful, cozy, perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I meant to write this right after we stayed but the busyness of real life picked right back up where it left. It was perfect for me, my husband and our pup! The place was spotless! I would never have known if any other dogs had ever been there. My pup didn't even sniff around as if it could smell other dogs! Now that is clean! Super convenient to Newport which is one of our favorite spots that is also very dog friendly! Michael was great, we saw him at check in but we had no reasons to contact him during our stay for anything! Friendly neighbors, great, quiet and safe neighborhood. Quick walk to the beach and some food! Absolutely loved the back deck. Our pup did too since we don't have a fenced in back yard at home she was hesitant at first to run around out back but often begged to go out and play and lay on the deck. We cooked our own food mostly every night, the grill was great! The bed was comfortable and again with such a quiet neighborhood it made sleeping in easy. Wonderful view! I can't say enough great things about our stay and I am hoping we can go back again!

Great Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great vacation at this cottage in Portsmouth, RI on Blue Bell Cove. The view from the from window says it all! Nice cottage comfortable! Clean. Neat. Great stocked kitchen! Great TV(some places we have stayed the TV or DVD doesn't work, only has 3 channels, etc) This one was super! Air Conditioners worked well also. In the back yard large deck. We brought our kayaks and kayaked in Blue Bell Cove! Super Fun! Much larger cove then I thought. Close to restaurants, shops, etc. Went to Sakonnet Winery in Little Compton and met old friends for wine and lunch--very enjoyable spot! Things to do in Newport--shop, eat, Rum Runner II Cruise, Rose Island & Light House, and Scenic Train Ride--with lunch, ice cream dinner and Murder Mystery Trips. Also the Mansions, beaches, parks, etc. The only one drawback to the cottage--the 3 bedrooms are upstairs and the one bathroom is downstairs. Not so great when you have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Other then that we did okay with the bathroom on the first floor. We loved our vacation, we had good weather, and a fun time

Great deal, good hosts!

  • 5 of 5

The owner was very easy to speak with and contact. We brought our dog and they were more than accommodating to her. The pictures were exactly as the rental is. There is no queen bed at the location, which for a tall man was hard to sleep in the beds, but in a cape style home I couldn't expect any less. The owner was honest enough to let me know I overpaid and sent a check to me for the refund. It was awaiting in the mailbox upon my arrival home. Overall a great and pleasurable experience. It was extremely clean and smelled great upon arrival. Could not tell pets had been there previously. Would definitely rent again.

The owner's are super nice, helpful with any and everything you need. They get back to you right away. And work with you on any dates, etc.. Everything is nice and clean, it has a homey feeling, has everything you would need. It is pet friendly, which made it extra special for me. I got to take my dog with me (which was his first time he ever saw the ocean). Their is a super neat dog path right down the street, you can walk out to the water island which is really cool. Their is a nice big park around the corner also, where we meant a lot of nice dog friends. Everyone in the neighbor hood is very friendly, and helpful also. The nice big deck out back is nice just to stand on and watch the sun set's. You can even see the huge bridge that comes into Newport all lite up, it is a awesome site at night. Even though it was cold, I cooked streaks out on the nice big gas grill. It is very roomy, and comfortable in ever area. The huge picture window in the Living Room is so great to just sat and look out over the water. See the sun come up, slowly fade down, the bridge lite up at night with the look of blue light's, the ducks swimming all over. I could sit their all day and just gaze out to all the wonders that you will see. I like it because your not in the hustle of the city life, but it is very close to go in and out to. Plus, you have other areas to explore on the other side of Portsmouth. I even took a short day trip up to Plymouth, Ma.. And their are many other day trips to go to also. Your close to several Winnies, Restaurant's, and my favorite market on the way back is Clematis, so many great things. So make sure you make a stop their. The 5 Points Restaurant (right up at the end of the main road that runs by the beach) is a GREAT place to eat, the food it Excellent. Well, I can't say enough about this rental property. You will not be one bit disappointed in booking your vacation here. I'll be back soon! Thank you so much, Mike and Marquerite!

An efficient home for rest after busy days!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I and our small dog found the house to be a great choice! We were able to cook, sleep and relax in the house enjoying both the water views and walking the quiet neighborhood. The master bedroom mattress was comfortable and hot water in the claw foot tub a relief for our tired muscles after seeing the sights! We spent time touring the Newport Mansions and walking part of the downtown area, discovering the serene views while walking the Cliff Walk, and taking a day trip to Martha's Vineyard riding the ferry from Woods Hole, MA. Upon arrival the owner greeted us and gave us a tour of the house and reassured us that if we needed any help to call him during our week long stay. He had just finished cleaning the house and tending to the plants which is a testament to the care he gives to his real estate. By the way, he needs to show a picture of the new "bench" across the street which is made from a gorgeous section of a tree! We plan on returning in the spring of 2016 to continue our adventures in the area!

The nearest beach is less than one-half mile away along Park Avenue. A second beach just at one mile is Teddy's beach at the Breakwater Bridge. There are also three additional very large exceptional beaches in Middletown & Newport. They are First, Second and Third beach all just at nine miles away. These beaches are just a short distance from Bellevue Avenue in Newport, home of the historic Newport Mansions, International Tennis Hall of Fame, Sailing Tours, Guided Tours, Comedy shows, Folk and Jazz Festival, plenty of gift shops and great restaurants at the Newport's Bowen's Wharf and always great weather. For the military guests just six miles away is the Newport Naval Base, the Navy's premier site for training officers, officer candidates and senior enlisted personnel and midshipman.
