Hi - I'm Loui, a visual artist, photographer and nature lover. Sharing this amazing home with people who come to JT for the park, yoga, music, writing, photography, peace, is a great feeling.
This is a real house with living room, dining, kitchen all open to one another. Then the private bedrooms with queens size beds and big closets share a small bathroom. Hot water pressure is good. The views and wide open space to the north and west are beautiful. And I truly love that it is so close to the main strip of cafes, bar with good food and live music, shops and The Park!
My favorite get-away for 20 years, Joshua Tree became a sacred place to me. The quiet, openness, and night sky are transformative. Little by little I fixed it up, with my own sore hands and the help of others. Now is is super sweet and a delight.
Beautiful, spacious and close to town.

Kate did not want to change her dates so I took care of it for her.
She choose to bring 4 dogs which I agreed to with charge. And told her the rate which she agreed to.
She had the address, map and phone number but choose not to use any it, yet complain about not finding the place.
She is the only person to not like the house, the town or the yoga retreat.
The wifi password is in logical place but she did not look.
House was perfect. Decorated nicely. Clean. Comfy beds. Met all our needs. Private. A few min drive to Joshua Tree. Thai restaurant nearby was superb.Crossroads also good for breakfast and not fancy supper. Make sure u hike 49 Palms Oasis and Ryan's Mtn.
Host/Owner got back to me immediately when I texted a question. It was easy to find. WiFi worked well.
Very pleasant stay. Would highly recommend.
Enjoyed our stay very much. House was nicely equipped. Refrigerator filled with goodies. Location good but recommend that if you go out at night and travel back roads that you record house number which is on garage. Shower excellent. Pretty much lived up to its description.
The TYPE Inn was just right for the two of us for eight nights. The kitchen is well stocked; Every thing works. We watch very little television so the lack of a TV was not really noticed. The typewriters were fun to try and are an emphatic reminder of how used to a computer keyboard we are. I enjoyed reading a couple of books in the small library that I had never read before. The Inn is a convenient location for visiting Joshua Tree National Park. We would head out every morning and hike or walk a new trail while it was still cool and then take most afternoons off. It is a quiet location so we slept well. We'd choose the TYPE Inn again if we decide to revisit the Park which is magical in the Spring.
My husband and I came to Joshua Tree for a few days to explore all that the area has to offer. We spent quite a bit of time walking through Joshua Tree National Park and completed a few trails. The Type Inn was the perfect location for us! We were close to everything and the accomodations were excellent. It was nice to be unplugged, but we made great use of the wifi as we both had school work to do. We enjoyed dinner from Pie for the People and the Crossroad Cafe while in town. The National Park is worth the visit and if you need a place to stay, the Type Inn is the perfect choice! If we make our way back out west in the near future, we will be sure to book the Type Inn again for a few days!
My friend and I spent two nights at the Type Inn, It has all the necessary basics (well-stocked kitchen, gracefully furnished living room, good beds) and as a bonus is delightfully and artistically decorated in old typewriters and beautiful photos and art. We used the patio off the kitchen for stargazing and breakfasting. The house is only blocks from a main entrance road to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park for easy access to the Visitor Center and the Park. Perfect for our needs. The owner, Louise, was gracious when called last minute for the code. We loved the experience.
