About the property

Lodges Have 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 10 With Stunning View Of Detour Passage

Edge Water and Passage Point Lodges are places where friends and family make a lifetime of memories. Each lodge has four bedrooms, three full baths, and can accommodate up to 10 guests. Rent one, or both for larger groups. You may choose to put life on pause and feel the serenity, or to walk the trails of the island, surrounded by nature at its absolute best. Either way – you will be immersed into another world, one where you can unwind, be inspired and rejuvenated. You will discover the secrets to the ultimate get-a-way.

Both Lodges are located side-by-side on the picturesque shores of Lake Huron, overlooking DeTour Passage. Visualize the 180 degree elevated views of pristine Lake Huron from the full length deck, the ground level hot tub, or the privacy of the upper floor master suite. Watch the island ferry and 1000- foot plus freighters pass by right before you. Be awed by those indescribable sunsets, the occasional northern lights, and a sky so clear and the stars so bright that you feel you could reach out and touch them. 'Never have I seen such a sky', quotes one recent guest.

Listen to the sounds of water lapping onto the shore, the haunting call of distant loons, a cry of a bald eagle, or the mesmerizing early morning fog horn. Enjoy swimming on the sandy shoreline.

There is however, a wealth of outdoor activities to select from. With 150 miles of rugged shore line and 133 square miles of forests - this is a hiking, biking and birding paradise. There is a diverse habitat with rare species, land formations, and plant life.

The kayaking is world class. There are over 50 outlying islands including Harbor Island, a National Wildlife Refuge. Salmon fishing is superb!

The lodges are a second home to the owners who visit multiple times every year. They enjoy pampering themselves with the updated amenities, creature comforts and attractive decor throughout - all to our guest’s benefit. We are happy to exceed your expectations.

Exterior features for both lodges include: private, powered boat pier, accommodating vessels up to 25 feet in length; a sparkling, 6-person hot tub; attached garage for storage or parking; three decks and ample lounge furniture; fire pit (wood included), and charcoal grill. Inside you will find a well-equipped, modern kitchen with all the appliances, dishes, and utensils you should need: stone gas fireplace; washer/ dryer; five televisions with cable TV including HBO/Cinemax; Wi-Fi; pool table; stereo; and a collection of board games, books, and movies. All bedding and linens are furnished.

The main floor consists of a large main floor bedroom, living room with sofas/chairs, dining area with table and 8 chairs, eating bar with 4 stools, kitchen, and full bathroom including washer/dryer. Lower level has open concept game room/main television area with sofas/chairs, bunk room, full bathroom, and walkout to hot tub. Upper level contains master suite facing the water, second bedroom facing the forest, and another full bathroom.

About Owner

The Odebrecht and Smith families are Hoosiers from the Elkhart area, travel internationally, and are proud to call Drummond Island their second home.

Owner purchased this lodge in 2001

Why Owner chose Michigan

Our three children have grown up loving our lodges and sharing happy memories there for 13 years. The island is the perfect place to enjoy nature, unwind, and get away from it all! One look at the spectacular view from our beach, all those years ago, and we were hooked - it's been Drummond ever since!

What makes this lodge unique

Protected cove, historic pier and boat slips, one-of-a-kind ship-watching experience on DeTour Passage, campfires on the shore, all the comforts of home.

Relaxation at its best

The lodge was very nice. The view is incredible!! Lots of room with 4 bedrooms, a good sized kitchen and sitting room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would recommend it.

Beautiful scenery, very nice owners, onsite manager

  • 4 of 5

Back to nature. Bear posed for photo OP. Lots of deer. Unable to comment on fishing. Mayflies laid their eggs and fish were stuffed. We rented a boat and i recommend it if you have an experienced person to operate it as waters can be rough. Got to visit lots of places inaccessible by car. Lots of fun. Watched ships going through channel every night. DeTour fireworks were set off right across the water from us. Outdoor space shared with other lodges so don't expect privacy. The average ferry crossing wait is 1.5 hours so load up on munchies and drinks. Lol Had good time.

Drummond Island was the perfect getaway, and this cabin and location was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved Drummond Island. This was our first trip to Drummond Island. It was so scenic and peaceful, but there was also so much to do for the entire family (rent a boat, rent an ATV or side by side ORV, skeet shooting, go to the beach, hiking, wildlife, kayaking, several great gift shops and so on). This cabin was everything we hoped for and then some (very clean, so much space, the view was spectacular, we could go on and on). The location was perfect, view of the huge St. Mary’s River which is more like a lake, but the best part might have been watching the freighters from around the globe go by throughout the day and night. We brought binoculars so that we could read the name of each freighter, and to top it off, we found several iPhone apps that track freighters. We could see where their trip started, where it will end, where the ship was built, pictures of the ship and so on. This was so much fun. We had trouble leaving the cabin because we would miss out on the next ship. There are several great restaurants on the island as well, and they are very close to this cabin. Our favorite restaurant ended up being Pins. We can’t wait to head black to Drummond Island and this cabin again! The best vacation.

Great place.

  • 5 of 5

Eight friends up for a weekend of off-roading. Perfect accommodation for us. Everyone had a bed, (2 brothers doubled up in large king). Fire pit right by the water, watched some freighters move through the channel, plenty of parking for 5 Jeeps and room for trailer just off to the side down by the water. As for the island colors were amazing, picked the right weekend, trails were in great shape, lots of mud holes for those interested in that, few good rock climes and lots of hard rock wooded trails.

Amazing!! I could see the house from the ferry and couldn't wait to get inside!

  • 5 of 5

Passage Point was really everything that the website shows, except the master bedroom upstairs was even better!! Nice, plush bed and newer bedroom set. They definitely need to show that picture on the website.

The view is amazing, from the passing freighters to the night lights of DeTour Village on the mainland, the beautiful sunsets and the abundance of wildlife!

We met wonderful neighbors and enjoyed an evening campfire by the waters edge - how peaceful!!

The property managers and owner were definitely a pleasure to work with. We had everything we needed for our stay!!

Highly recommended to EVERYONE!!

The BEST most PEACEFUL / RELAXING VACA I've had in years!!!

Thank You Andy, Larry and Sandy!!

Looking forward to returning!!!
