BEAUTIFUL HOUSE

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this house for 5 weeks during July and August. The finishes and furnishing are truly beautiful!! Our 5 grandchildren stayed with us for 2 weeks during that time and had a wonderful time. They loved being close to the chair lifts and other activities at the ski base.

Geoff was great to work with and even let us have items shipped to his house before we arrived. He checked in with us to make sure there were no problems - which there weren't.

The best recommendation is that we hope to rent again during the summer.

You will enjoy staying here!!

Awesome Location!

  • 5 of 5

This home is beautiful and in a great location! This was our first ski trip to Whitefish and we ended up in the perfect spot to enjoy all it has to offer. The home is easy walking distance to both the Base Lodge and the Upper Village, and the ski in-ski out access make getting to the slopes super easy. Both the Village Shuttle and the Snow Bus run regularly and help you get around if you don't want to walk. We did not have a car and it was no problem. If you want to go into downtown Whitefish the Snow Bus will take you there in about 25 minutes. There are great restaurants and bars and you don't have to worry about driving.

The home itself is in great condition and very well maintained. Everything is high-end from the appliances to the finishes throughout the home. It definitely is larger then what it looks like in the pictures. We had 7 adults and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is great - we cooked several times and we had everything we needed. The master bedroom and the two additional rooms are all good sized with the their own bathrooms. The bunk room...is pretty small! Probable better suited for kids then adults, but having the extra living area adjacent to it helps.

The property manager Geoff is great! We had to call him on a few things and he was always available or got back to us right away. The heat in the house is a little tricky as there are 3 different thermostates that are all connected. We could not seem to figure out how to get it turned down, but Geoff came right over and helped us. In addition, we only left 4 days ago and the Damage Deposit has already been returned.

Spectacular Spring Break!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this home and would highly recommend it, as well as rent it again! It was our very first time to use VRBO and I was nervous. We were thrilled to see that the home surpassed our expectations in every way. The floor plan is perfect for any combination of guests, and it was the perfect ski-in ski-out situation. We simply popped out the back door and were right on the run! The home is beautifully designed inside with just enough accents to make it feel like home, but not too much that it feels full of clutter (like some homes I noticed that are offered online). Every item from the floors, paint, lighting, furniture, appliances, bedding and more seemed to be in perfect condition and very high end. The garage doors, fireplaces, TV's, hot tub, outdoor grill, sound system, etc., all worked perfectly and were easy to operate. The kitchen was stocked with every thing we needed and was organized well. This home has great architectural features and I can tell the owners made special effort to make it not only beautiful, but fun to use. A special feature was the unique, and amazing snowboard/ski/pokes/boot/helmet storage area right at the door leading outside to the run. It mimics one you'd find in a ski lodge and even includes a boot dryer/warmer! Specially designed with a cool ski lodge feel and fun art to compliment the look, it has a wrap around large bench with hooks above that allows for many skiers to keep it all straight. All and all we loved it! We had a ball. We loved how though there was plenty of room to spread out all over, we were just as comfortable and chose most of the time to hang together on the main floor in the big den. One highlight of our trip was playing lots of cards late at night on the huge picnic style table (which is bigger than it looks in picture online). But with all the great info written here, the biggest compliments of all are how CLEAN the house was, how good it felt, and how nice the owners have been to communicate with since we have been back from our trip. I left something fairly trivial behind and they still reached out to help get it back to me. We will be back to whitefish because we love it so much! When we rent again we would seek out this place or any other properties by this family/owner.

Fantastic ski-haus!

  • 5 of 5

I've been coming to Whitefish at least once every year for 10 years and this is certainly one of, if not the best condo I've stayed in over all.

The unit is very large and spacious, so even if all your beds are full there is plenty of room for everyone to relax. The open living-dinning-kitchen area is great for socializing, watching films, preparing meals and the like. We had a group of 8 adults staying, and were with another group of 8 staying at another location, and hosting a dinner one night things never felt crowded. The integrated sound system deserves special note; so many places have very limited or archaic sound systems, but the one here is extremely easy to use and was perfect for entertaining or watching films. If you don't have an iPod/Phone I would bring a 3.5mm male-male adapter cord (like the one your headphones typically use), so you can plug into the auxiliary input on the iPod adapter.

The kitchen was well equipped, and was large enough for 2~3 people to cook in. We found the bbq to not heat up sufficiently though; which is ok if you're doing slow roasted meats, but it would not sear anything (topped out at around 300F). Fridge more than accommodated all the food we brought, which was considerable, and the pantry and cabinets were a bonus.

All the beds were comfortable, and bedrooms were well stocked. The closets had great cubby-hole organizers. Bathrooms were similarly spacious and well designed; the car-wash shower is a true gem in the master bedroom. The shower in the bottom bathroom, being beside the bunk room, is fairly short so if you're over 5'8" or so you'll likely have to duck down a bit, but it's still a good shower (pressure, hot water). Speaking of hot water, the hot tub in the back is a proper size with great jets. You're right beside Home Again Trail so you can cheer on everyone racing by.

For ski amenities the prep-room in the basement was great. Too many places lack this simple space. A large u-shaped bench area with plenty of hooks allowed everyone to store their jackets and such, which a separate closet was present to hang your ski's and poles, and had a boot dryer. Then when you're ready to go, you just take three steps out the back door and you're on Home Again Trail; one minute later you're at Chair 6! Getting home is just as easy; either Home Again or from the top of Chair 6. All around amazing place!

New Years

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful, great location for skiing. We had 3 families, with kids age 7 to 18. The beds were comfortable, and we had lots of room. It was great being on the hill and so close to the base lodge. Easy to get tickets and send the kids on there way. It was nice to be able to ski in and out and come and go as we pleased. Some of us are hard core skiers and some not so much. Fun was had by all. The only thing that I would recommend is that the hot tub doesnt have easy lift. It takes two men to put the hot tub lid back on the tub after use, or you can only use half the tub.
