Papa's Palace was perfectly peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a peaceful place to relax and were in no way disappointed! The cabin felt like home. The bed was comfortable and there were thoughtful little touches in every corner of each room that made us feel welcomed. Since we were aware that there was no stove, we brought an electric skillet for cooking which served us quite well. The view from the cabin is beautiful! We especially enjoyed our time feeding the fish from the bucket of food provided at the pier by the pond. The pond is teaming with fish and turtles! We spent mornings and evenings by the pond fishing and drinking in the peace of the place. We were most impressed by how secluded and quiet it was during that time of day and how beautiful the sunset was over the pond... and OH MY, THE NIGHT SKY!! We live too close to the city to see those stars at home. It was absolutely breathtaking! Even though we chose the hottest weekend of the summer for our first stay at this lovely place, we are already dreaming about another trip when the days get shorter and the weather gets cooler so that we can enjoy time around the fire pit. Thank you so much for sharing this place with us!

Quaint cabin on beautiful land

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Papa’s Palace. It’s a small cabin but it has everything you need. The owners were very thoughtful with everything inside from the coffee and tea to the books and games. We had a great time fishing down at the pond and sitting by the fire at night. We drove through the jeep trail and saw many deer! Going in the winter is really the best time of year to be there. Far enough out to feel remote but close enough to town that you can run in for a meal. There is another cabin within view so keep that in mind. It would be great for two couples or family to stay in both. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Beautiful scenery!

Quiet in the hill country

  • 5 of 5

The owners responded promptly regarding questions before booking along with giving detailed instructions and directions. We arrived to a very clean, cooled down cabin back in the hills but close to town. The bed and linens were comfortable and plenty of towels in the bathroom for our long visit. We utilized the microwave and coffee maker but not the toaster oven or outside grill. We sat on the front porch and drank coffee every morning before heading out, laid in the hammock under the big oak tree in the late afternoon. This is a peaceful quiet setting. We have been coming to the area for 2 years and stay in multiple rentals as we are building a home outside of Hunt and will be coming back to this cabin often. Thank you for the peace and quiet.

About Philip Stacy

Our families are fourth and sixth generation Texans. We've been lucky enough to live and raise our family in the beautiful Hill Country along the Guadalupe River. I am a retired banker and school teacher and am currently the director of a local non-profit organization. I enjoy spending time outdoors.

Philip Stacy purchased this cabin in 1936

Why Philip Stacy chose Ingram

This property has been in my family since 1936 when my grandfather purchased it. The 120 acre pasture is part of a larger working ranch that is located between Ingram and Hunt Texas.

What makes this cabin unique

Beautiful natural scenery along with gorgeous Texas sunsets from the tops of the hills. Quiet and peaceful but located just minutes away from Texas Highway 39 that takes you to west to the quaint town of Hunt (10 minutes) or east to Kerrville (15 minutes). San Antonio, Texas is just an hour away.
