Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom,2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4

We have the few select true beach front settings for a condo available, this one would be on the A-list! Located on the sunny and dry side of molokai, where all of the island's white swimming beaches are located, there is a not a reason to go anywhere else. Walk out of your condo, and you are steps away from 3 beautiful beaches with crystal clear ocean water, in shades of aqua and blue. Chances are you will be alone at your beach, as molokai is not crowded like other island destinations in hawaii.

This townhouse style condo is the largest one bedroom floor plan at paniolo hale, which means house of the cowboy in hawaiian. The designs of these condo's are steeped in the island's paniolo (cowboy) heritage. Classic designs, with screened in lanais, capture the trade wind breezes and the ocean seascape. These units face west, so you can enjoy the sunset setting over the ocean every night of the year, without leaving the comfort of your own lanai. Sleep to the sounds of the surf, and wake to the sounds of singing birds in the lush landscaped surroundings. These units are situated in a tropical paradise of heritage trees, and a mature landscape of tropical flowers. The canopy of trees provide a wonderful shaded setting, keeping the inside cool from the tropical sun. This is a combination that can't be beat, and there is no other like it, on the island.

Inside, you will find more than 1000 sq.Ft. Of living space, with one bedroom, and two full baths. There is so much more space in these units, as compared to other 1 bedroom or studio units. This is the only large one bedroom on the ocean front at paniolo hale.

On the first floor is a new luxury bath with a tiled walk in shower. This makes the extra queen day bed, in the living room, a viable option for additional guests. The condo can sleep 4 comfortably, and there are two full baths. The unit has its own washer and dryer, so you can pack light for your trip. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home. Why would anyone want to leave when they have the best location on the island! There are full size appliances in the fully equipped kitchen, and you don't have to miss the ocean view while you prepare dinner. There is a bbq area close by if you choose to grill some fresh island fish, or grass fed island beef.

There is a beautiful blue tiled pool for those that prefer a pool to the ocean.

This is the ideal place to never leave. However, it is also the best place to return, after a day of exploring the islands many natural sites. Pour your favorite drink, and sit on the lanai, to offer a toast to the end of another day in paradise.

Ways to spend your time on molokai…

Take a swim or walk a beach

Explore the ocean…. Snorkeling or diving

Read a book…on the beach, or on your lanai

Hike to secluded kawakui beach to spend a day at the beach

Snorkel the reef on the south side

Go fishing from the shore, or a charter boat

Whale watch in the winter season

Hike to the rainforest in the kamakou preserve, high in the mountains

Take a cultural guided hike to the halawa falls on the island's east end

Take a kayak out to explore the shoreline

Rent a bike and ride to explore

Tour the coffee plantation and have lunch on the lanai

Visit the macadamia nut farm

Hike the world's highest sea cliffs

Take a tour down to kaluapapa by foot or by a guided mule ride

Join the island kapuna for a friday sunset celebration at hotel molokai

Or….Just do nothing at all!

Guestbook comments from the manager

We spent six days on Molokai at the end of July. Paniolo Hale is located at the west (sunny and dry) end of the island . It is about 30 minutes from town, 25 minutes from the airport and about 15 minutes from the nearest small village and mini-grocery store (Maunaloa).

Our cell service (Verizon) did work at Paniolo Hale, and we were able to use our i-pad with 4G at times.

Of the approximately 50 units in the complex, about 10 were being occupied while we were there. We used the pool daily (nice clean pool area) and only had to share it twice, and even then, it was only for a couple of minutes.

Our unit was one of the five which are ocean front (F2), and we were completely alone the entire time ... none of the others were being used. The complex is well maintained and there was someone either gardening, spraying for insects or doing maintainence the entire time we were there.

We had a cookout every night and my husband said that it was the best quality community BBQ he'd ever used.

We had a spectacular ocean view from the unit, could hear the waves every minute, of every day, and the soft tropical breeze flowed through the unit constantly. It looked, smelled and sounded like paradise.

The housekeeper had opened the unit to the oceanview before we arrived (the entire wall of windows completely opens up to the screened in porch - we never once closed is), so it feels that you're out in sheltered openness.

The kitchen is stocked with whatever utensil or gadget you could possibly want. We made a stop at the grocery store (Friendly Market) before we arrived, so we were set to settle in. Once there, you'll likely not want to get immediately back in the car for supplies.

We spent most of our time either lying on the beach, at the pool, or on the lounge chairs on the screened in porch. For two overworked professionals, it was paradise and medicinal.

Within walking distance are three "private" beach coves. All beaches in Hawaii are public, but we only saw others twice ever while we were there, until a big swell hit….. and then suddenly our little cove became quite popular: 7 surfers!

You'll find not a single stop light, three eat-in restaurants (do NOT miss the Cookhouse -- cuisine ranked right up there with the best of the best), gorgeous crystal clear, and varying shades of blue water, incredible views of Lanai, Maui and Oahu (on a clear day). We snorkelled and scuba'd, drove the one lane road to the East end of island.

Absolutely Awsome Condo!!

  • 5 of 5

Super location, best view in Hawaii, wonderful condo, nicely furnished, clean and comfortable, super bathrooms with awesome showers, can't say enough about our stay at this location, we have rented condos on all of the other islands over the last 20 years and this is by far one of the nicest, great running and walking trails too, quiet location for a true Hawaiian getaway.

Great location, comfortable property

  • 4 of 5

Our HomeAway was a condominium situated on the west coast of Molokai. It had an excellent location within the complex, with views across the former golf fairway to the ocean and sunsets, as well as, the soothing sound of the waves. Our unit was spacious, the bedroom was generous and the bed was extremely comfortable. Several upgrades had been done - downstairs bathroom, carpet on the stairs and upstairs hall, stove and microwave. The kitchen was well equipped for meal prep which is important because you don’t go to Molokai for gourmet restaurants. One thing that seemed to be missing was beach chairs, which would have been nice to take to the waterfront to view the sunsets. As we were arranging our rental, Scott Warner was very responsive and made the process go smoothly.

While we found the condo enjoyable, we would like to see the landlord pick up the pace on the upgrades, for example the wood floors would be even more beautiful if they were refinished. It would be nice to see the upstairs bathroom upgraded to the standards of the downstairs. Also, while the furniture is all structurally sound, it might be time to start refreshing it. We do want to stress that none of these things would prevent us from recommending it as a place to stay. We liked the quiet location and great view of the ocean. Let’s hope the golf course never reopens as all that space would become off limits for enjoyable, scenic walks.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at Paniolo Hale F2. This past Fall, you will be happy to know that we now have a new bathroom, in addition to the first floor one, that was completed last year. As it turned out, the owner had put the beach chairs in their storage area, and we did not realize it. So, now there are beach chairs, a cooler, and an umbrellas. We hope that you will return soon to see all the improvements. A hui hou

Beautiful Location, Lovely Condo

  • 5 of 5

This unit is a ground-floor rental with a view of the ocean from the enclosed lanai. The condo has a well-equipped kitchen, which is a necessity, as there are few restaurants on Molokai (and none in the vicinity of the condo), and the best food is likely to be the food you cook yourself. The unit is two-story, with a very comfortable king bed in the upstairs bedroom. There is another bed downstairs for overflow. The lanai is one of the most attractive features of the condo, as the louvered doors open up the entire downstairs to the trade winds and the sound of the waves. Paniolo Hale is beautifully landscaped with shade trees and tropical flowers. There is a handy outdoor gas barbecue near the unit. It was very quiet while we were there--the only human sound we heard on a usual day was the sound of happy kids, which is fine with me. There were plenty of birds to watch right from the lanai. Scott and Chad were helpful and friendly, and have lots of info about the island. One word of caution; the water here can be extremely rough and dangerous. It may be more peaceable in the summertime, but in winter it is dangerous to swim here. We especially enjoyed meeting the people of Molokai, who are incredibly friendly and kind. Molokai is undeveloped, unpretentious and real--and we loved it.

Located on Kepuhi Beach, on the sunny and dry west side of the island of Molokai. Walk to several white sand beaches with few people in sight. Snorkel, surf, swim, or boogie board without getting into your car! Sleep to the sounds of the ocean and surf, with gentle cooling tradewinds in a shaded grove of mature trees and landscaping. The sunset views are spectacular year around from the lanai. Peaceful, nature abounds, and friendly people bring people back year after year.

Water sports of all types are available. Molokai has the longest reef in Hawaii, offering great opportunities for fishing, diving, whale watching, and snorkeling.
